A Walk Around the Remnants of Mazza Gallerie, One Month Before Final Closure
Mazza Gallerie, once considered one of the most upscale shopping destinations in the DC metro area, fell tragically hard over the past few years. A majority of the mall, including the atrium and all levels above the concourse, would be closed earlier in 2022 and would already have demolition underway at the time this video was filmed, back in late November 2022. With the mall's last sole tenant, T. J. Maxx, closing just a few days prior to the publication of this video, the remaining mall concourse would also close, ending the final chapter of what was once among the most luxurious shopping centers in the capital region.

i use to come here as a kid back in the late 80s early 90s they had a cool toy shop back then. ill never forget me and my cousins walking down to the mall . last time i was here was 2020 before i moved out of state

Ugh… sad. I know this is a metropolitan mall but when they designed places like this, did they ever factor in that people don’t really like feeling that they are walking down into a fallout shelter or cellar? Thanks for capturing on video!
Definite backrooms vibe. I thought this mall already shut down a year ago.

Most of it did. Only this small hallway was left by the time I made it there.
