    Thank you! Hoya sigillatis is not an easy Hoya to grow. I still have it, but I don't know if it is worth all of the effort.

    Hi Doug, I find myself devouring your videos. They are so packed with helpful information. Insight and fantastic photos of flowers & leaves. Now that you have treated your collection with SULFER for flatmites, do you still have this beautiful plant ( Sigillatis)🪴 and is it less difficult? Thanks for all your work to video while managing your collection and all the things you also need to do. ❤

    Thanks for the kind words Laura! I gave up my H. sigillatis long ago, before I even new about flat mites. It was one of those plants that gave me such misery, that not only was I relieved after I threw it out, but I really don't have any interest in having it back. I have to keep telling myself that I don't have room enough to be a keeper of the world's Hoyas. Happy growing and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!

    You've convinced me. I'm not getting this type of Hoya. It seems at best, "high maintenance," and at worse, "an abusive relationship." I am finally doing well with pothos and philodendrons. Thanks for the video.

    You're welcome Gerald! I finally threw H. sigillatis out a few weeks ago. "An abusive relationship" is a great analogy - I just couldn't stand it any longer! I'm glad that you are doing well with pothos and philodendrons; I've cared for those plants at my work place for years.

    Hi Mandy, You're asking the wrong person as I grew to hate this Hoya and got rid of it some time ago. It is very, very fussy so don't blame yourself with failing with this plant. All I can tell you is to use a very chunky mix that you can monitor when to water either with a net pot, or a clear pot. Warm, and very humid, indirect bright light, if it starts growing and is happy then don't move it as it is sensitive to being moved. Good luck!

    Nothing could be further from the truth! What ever you do, if you get it established in one location, never move it, as it really resents being moved.

  • @DougChamberlainVTHoyas

    @DougChamberlainVTHoyas

    My go to method with rooting all Hoyas now is to use a couple of drops of this product: dyna-gro.com/product/k-l-n-concentrate-c/ in a jar of water until the cutting develops water roots and then move the cutting to your preferred medium. Keep it warm and humid during the process. Should take less than a month.

    I would if I still kept sigillatis. I grew to hate this plant over time, because it just never did very well for me, and I tired of seeing it look poorly. I actually felt better after I got rid of it. I did however keep it for a number of years and got it to flower many times, but it never thrived.
