Yeah same. They were actually decently effective (gave the vehicle a wider footprint when deployed; in S1E1 of Storm Chasers, if you remember, she took a direct broadside hit from a 200 mph tornado), and then they just look so cool. Really made this vehicle iconic and stand out from the rest.

Fun fact: Sean didnt put on the claws anyways, the Directors of Storm Chasers requested them be added.

Yeah, and Sean legitimately never use the Claws anyway they don't really help anything like spikes, but they just kinda help stabilize it tiny bit

You should decently make videos of you working on it, this thing was an icon of my childhood I have watched storm chasers alot. Can't wait to see it more!!

I need to but the damn thing is 3hrs 1 way from my apt and it's alot with 70hr work weeks, flight school and a full racing season. I'll try!

​@@R.Clayton I know this sounds stupid but maybe you could try to talk to some other KZreadrs like Weston Champlin to help you to get this project under way because I'm pretty sure someone would be more then happy to help because it's the TIV at the end of the day it's history and it needs to be rebuilt

Yeah, I saw your Facebook post back in October talking about some of this. Big shame but that is the situation we got ourselves in. All I can say is do the best you can, and if the plan really is to just get her ready enough to do basic driving and intercept relatively weak tornadoes, then be very, very careful. Because the last thing I want to hear is that you got yourself killed after accidentally getting caught in a tornado that's too powerful, with the vehicle being wrecked beyond repair. Also, fast and aggressive chasing? That's all me right there. I like you already. XD 👍🔥🔥

I get you wouldn’t have time to but you see, airbags won’t just get you out of it, there is a chance of that happening like sliding, etc but I’d recommend it for extra saftey and I’d recommend getting in front of the nado a bit but your chase style is your chase style

It’s awesome that you are deciding to keep it! It is a very neat piece of equipment that would become very handy on the future, I hope you guys can work around the kinks it has to show and get out to chase some naders

It's awesome seeing TIV 1 getting restored! I can remember watching TIV 1 on discovery all those years ago. Outta curiosity in terms of powertrain is the tiv gonna keep the 7.3 + MT combo?

The 7.3 and manual is what give made me fall in love with this thing. The sound was amazing in the show. So were the shots of shifting. Can't wait to hear this thing without the edited audio.

Post some videos of that thing running. Nothing like the sound of a 7.3. very glad TIV 1 is still coming back. She's old reliable as Sean said himself.

If u don't rush into a f3 or higher tornado no spikes will be fine. The tiv vehicles were usually parked in front of a storm with a few minutes to stage and be ready. The amazing direct hit in tiv2 still had about 2 minutes warning to drop and activate spikes as the tornado hit the spikes were still extending to full length.

I just started re-watching Season 1 and I started to wonder where this vehicle went because it sort of disappeared. And I can’t believe Sean Casey parked it and said whoever finds it can keep it. Wish I knew that a few years ago but I’m glad it’s in a good place where it’s getting prepared to be put back in service! Can’t wait to see it back on the road after all these years! Did it by any chance still have the California plates on it when you found it? Or did he take them off?

So basically making a dominator 1 but a bit stronger it has a turret, different name and a different model

Could you put up a video explaining how you found it? I see the news articles say you found it via a scavenger hunt? Did Sean abandon it or someone afterwards?

I can yea, but that is accurate, it was a scavenger hunt.

keep the claws until you get the spikes cause the claws keep it from rolling in side winds

You should have preserved it and had it put into a museum

Any updates on the TIV 1? I know you got the engine running, but besides that, is there anything else you’ve done?

The dominator series of tornado chasers is supposed to be back on the road in 2023 you should lease it to tornado chasing companies when ready.

Technically it’s not but he’s trying to revive it

Maby try to get Titus spikes : EDIT make id think itd be strong If it drops completly down to ground complty then if you find fast spikes it would deploy the spikes into the ground like dominatior 2 spikes

It would be so cool if you made videos on you working on it therefore you can make a bunch of views

Please just tell us already you've basically given up, you may have gotten that engine running but that transmission is cooked and you took out the glass, and then put it on the side of the road yet again letting it rot even more. I doubt that the frame is even there anymore considering how bad even TIV 2 was and still is. Give it to someone else that actually wants to work on the thing instead of using it for the attention.

@@NathanSmith-fx9ls There was a recent update on his facebook that showed that it's being worked on by professionals now to make it at least run, which it apparently does now. The transmission isn't his fault, it's been terrible since 2008 apparently. I wish he'd just start a funding for it, it might not help a whole lot but apparently a lot of it is a money problem, so I'm sure it'd help as long as all of the money goes towards the TIV.

It was gonna rot away anyways. It’s hard to restore a tank like this. He also personally knows Ryan Shepard (current owner of TIV 2). Plus, it’s his car anyways, he can do whatever he wants with it. He could drive it off a cliff for all he cares, but he is trying to fix it
