This man saved a piece of very special storm chasing history. It's being restored & hopefully someday again will hit the road. TIV 1 really was something else. To see it in that condition kinda hurt a bit. Just glad it's got a new owner like TIV 2 does.

When they ran it out of fuel during a chase, I remember hearing Sean say 30 gallons, that's all I'm taking. So you're probably right.

If it were up to me, I would preserve the TIV as is, and arrange for it to be put in a museum somewhere. Nevertheless, glad to see she's no longer just rusting away.

I can’t believe this thing is still around, much less somebody found it and plans on restoring it.

I’m surprised the storm chasers thought the spikes on TIV 1 were affective because I would think by the looks of it they are no sharper than a garden rake

Glad to see it's still around I remember watching storm chasers as a kid when this was the main vehicle before TIV2, hope the rebuild goes good, btw are you keeping the 7.3 powerstroke or changing it out with a new engine like a 6.7 powerstroke or a Cummins diesel.

Definitely keep us updated. The orginal TIV should be preserved.

Just curious but are the tornados still gonna be on the side of tiv when your done restoring? There kinda my favorite thing of tiv 1 because of what they mean

I know Sean sold the TIV 2, but it was weird that the TIV 1 just disappeared. Hopefully the restoration continues!

It didn't disappear she was abandoned and Sean made it a game. She was found by this dude in the middle of bumfuck nowhere Kansas. Why Sean didn't sell her too is mind blowing

@@ashleycantrell9844 I guess he just didn't want to deal with it anymore. I would assume to bring back to CA with whatever mechanical issues it has and get it running would be more expensive than to leave it.

It would be cool when you finished restoring tiv 1 you could meet up with Ryan Sheperd so tiv 1 and tiv 2 could meet again, i hope restoring tiv 1 is going good so far. Please keep us updated

Three years later and I still wondering what's going on with it

I truly wish I could give a price for this vehicle just glad it was found and not scrapped

While I'm glad that TIV1 won't be forgotten, I *am* disappointed to hear that you're planning on changing it. If it were me I'd restore it to its original look, & maybe even put on a few things that seem to have been removed, such as the front foglights. Please hit me up if you decide to sell it to someone else in the future.

Please restore it to its Former glory its such a good vehicle 🙏

Does it even run? I'd love to hear that ol 7.3 pur. I read somewhere that one point it had 3 different motors put in it.

it has airbags (not very good ones) but it has them
