A Tribute to Sir Ken Robinson
Ойын-сауық
Our hearts ache with the loss of Sir Ken, after an extraordinary life as one of the world’s leading thinkers on creativity and innovation.
Sir Ken is well known and respected for his TED talk lecture called “Do Schools Kill Creativity” and he is a force for good in championing the notion that the non-academic components of our education system should be considered with deep reverence with how they can help culture a new form of children and humanity out in the world solving the biggest problems of today.
Sir Ken, you will be deeply missed. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you, interview you, and get to share your wisdom with the world through Transcendence 2, and for that, I will be forever grateful. To further honor and pay tribute to Sir Ken’s legacy, we are sharing episode 1 of Transcendence 2, for you to watch for free on Gaia.com. Simply go to bit.ly/episode1-transcendence.
Rest in peace. xo James, Laurentine, and all the Food Matters team.

He passed away. However, he definitely changed how I view our education system. He definitely has made an impact to all those that know who he is and those that watched videos of him sharing his stories and experiences. He may be gone, but not forgotten.
Absolute legend.....best ted talk ever....changed everything
I watched dozens of his talks and my heart is touched every time. God bless you Sir Kenneth. May we meet again.
I am saddened by the news of the passing of Sir Ken. He was a brilliant, kind, conscientious, and funny man. I will miss his goodness, his wisdom and they way he actively listened, making even the trivial seem important. His contributions to education will live on and his words and thoughts will continue to inspire people the world over.
I am totally devastated that he passed away. I was planning to meet him after this Covid thing was over. But that was not to be. But the best tribute to him is to do what he advocated so passionately - STOP KILLING THE CREATIVITY IN CHILDREN. I wish we all do this. Schools are or should be gardens to grow beautiful people. Not jails by another name.

Yes! Just yes
I am aged 30 and finally in a university after putting it off for so long and as an autistic I think that I finally heard the message I needed to hear when I first watched his videos. Its a shame that I have missed the boat now on one day asking him questions.
My husband and I were talking about Sir Ken today, and I remembered his TEDtalk on how schools are killing creativity. As a professor, his story of the Gillian Lynne touched me immensely. We need to foster this kind of creativity and diversity in schools and beyond. But in our research, we discovered that he had passed. I'm so sorry that his compassion, empathy, and wisdom are no longer with us. Thank God for his TEDtalks! Through those, I hope he continues to inspire and motivate us all.
Great MAN!!! I feel personal loss. We thank you, Sir Robinson, for saving our lifes, for ur brilliant speeches, for your kindness to the world. 💚💚💚
Rest in Peace a Creative Mind and Wonderful Heart !Thank you for his Legacy !For his Vision! For Us To see the Future of the New Gaia! the New World ! The New Education! Exactly Amazing ! The New Generations ! Making Wonders ! For our Evolution! Thank You ! Sir Ken Robinson!+.....Happy Journey!
He had impact on me. Thank you Sir !
I found Sir Ken's first TED talk shortly after I found TED talks. I would look for talks that would expand my knowledge into new areas mostly, but I saw how many people had watched his talk and I thought, this has got to be a great one, and yes is was and it holds up today as being one of the best ever! Sir Ken was an amazing man that could step by step show us the issues with education and then offer solutions. The wonderful stories he used to illustrate his points were the best, and this story of the dancer as a child is absolutely one of those! guidance I dreamed of meeting him one day. My heart goes out to his loved ones, I will always carry him with me!

A great human who gave all his genius and creativity and beauty to cradle the genius and creativity and beauty of all. They are few, those that see so clear and give so much.
This man changed my whole perception on education and their systems. I have taught complex mentally ill adults in the UK, at a high school in the Czech Republic and children and adults in Vietnam. This mans thoughts on education are the future of understanding RIP Sir
I was really looking forward to meeting him, His message about creativity will live on.
Oh no 😢! What a huge loss to this world. I didn't know Sir Ken had passed and was looking for a video to share with some moms of children with Aspergers. Rest in peace, you have changed lives and hopefully your voice will continue to change education and thereby the world.
An absolute legend. He wasn't able to see his legacy come true. Hope one day we remember the need for changing all the education systems around the world.

I think his legacy has come true. If he can change the views of one person at a time, then he has done his job and shared his passion.
A man who vindicated many things I held deep inside all my life. Wise and funny too. Surely missed
I had no idea. What a loss, the man had such a beautiful soul...
Thank you for sharing your creative ideas with us before,RIP sir.
I am so sorry to hear that Sir Ken is no longer with us. He enthralled us with his talks, his humor and the great message he gave us. Sir Ken you will be missed.
Like many of my peers, I, too, am saddened by the loss of this great thinker. I'm a Professor of Counseling and his insights have been nothing short of astounding and awakening to the public here if they would partake.
My absolute great respects. I am enriched by your wisdom, vision, challenging thoughts and wonderful humor. Cheers, Sir KR!
How sad. I've just been watching his very inspiring and imaginative videos done with such a great sense of humour. My condolences to his family and friends.
It's that British accent isn't it...that pierces the mind as Sir Ken navigates through the realities of modern Education! I have watched and listened to his talks over and over again and only learned about his passing because I came looking for him here. RIP
Muchas propuestas de como desarrollar mejor el trabajo académico pedagógico considerando la iniciativa y la creatividad de los niños, una gran pérdida para quienes creimos en sus propuestas y las poníamos en práctica, gran legado y lamentable pérdida 🙏
I never knew Ken is gone. he as led a very extra ordinary life and I will always learn of him. Rest In Peace legend.

@@foodmatters he was extremely experienced with reality I am very disappointed that earth swallowed such a man he knew how children needed to be educated extremely sad that this man had to go he really talked a lot about reality I will personally really miss him
what an amazing gentle man, a true educator, i feel so lucky to be able to listen to his perspective on life
A great man. Rest in peace 🙏
I remember when I first listened to Sir Ken about 8 years ago, at times when I need to reflect of my own being or stay focused I play his videos in the back as if he was talking to me. It allows me to think differently, analyse and acknowledge differences and make my few minutes of reflection worthwhile. He was like a friend, you see I never went to college and only he understood that better than me?
What a legend... My favorite ted star😢
An absolute star. A person who promoted diversity and inclusiveness. So sorry to hear about his death. A huge loss for family, friends and the entire world.
I was one of the privileged few to meet and listen to this genius while he was in his element.

The ideas, thoughts, and perspective of the world I have around education are largely shaped by this MAN. RIP.
I still miss this man dearly as an educator believed he was one of the best innovators of our time in creative youth enrichment and development.
He was a compassionate and passionate soul. RIP
I just knew about him recently....and i only knew he died a few moments ago..and now im crying...
Only just found Sir Ken unfortunately for me. His word's on children's learning I totally agree with even extending Schools to included children with disabilities. This would reflect our true society and breakdown barrier's.
Now i know what sadness and devastation are
I would like to echo Mirza Yawar Baig's comment: "I am totally devastated that he passed away. I was planning to meet him after this Covid thing was over. But that was not to be. But the best tribute to him is to do what he advocated so passionately - STOP KILLING THE CREATIVITY IN CHILDREN. I wish we all do this. Schools are or should be gardens to grow beautiful people. Not jails by another name." Let's put Ken in front of our groups... let's help Ken "go Viral"!!!
His passing is a great loss to this world. RIP sir.
A great human being, thanks for all.
