    swastik is sacred symbol, it belongs to Lord Vishnu.... it's a symbol which keeps peace and harmony in home and also the rays coming out of it when sun rays falls over it makes the owner of the home to have success in every work .... if u wanna know more about it.. then go through the spiritual scripts of Hinduism, the symbol swastik came during samudra manthana.... the picture u saw in which Ganesha was sitting and writing in front of a sage... actually the saint is not his guru the saint, his name is Vyasa, he asked the help of Lord Ganesha to write the great Hindu story called Mahabharata, Vyasa knew the story, as it was so huge to write he asked Lord Ganesha to help him,Vyasa told that I'll tell the story orally and u must not interrupt in between, while I will b telling the story, then Lord Ganesha accepted it and wrote whole Mahabharata without interrupting in between to tell again the previous word... which generally happens while we normal humans write anything,... Jai Shri Ganesh

    you guys did great and intelligent thing to visit village, where you found main reason that keep alive this 30 thousand old civilization. most of westerner visit few big city's ghetto area where they get scammed, tout and harassed. go back to west and think they visit India. Real India lives in village, 65% of population lives in villages, these village built on Karma theory where they have there own economic and social system. Great video, also if you get Indian citizenship and win villager trust you may also get elected village chief.

    I've been on three bus trips into that area. I went to Gangnani hot springs above Uttarkashi, on the way to Gangotri. But I couldn't go further because it was January and snows were in the way. Another time I went to Joshimath and got very close to the Badrinath temple but it was closed anyway because it was December. Both were amazing trips. The third time I went from Almora to Rishikesh via the northern roads but didn't go up higher towards any of the temples. That area is really undiscovered by tourism and is amazing to explore.

    That restaurant at the end of the video, did other tourists see you in there and decide to eat there? As it's happened to me twice before, both in Malaysia in Cameron Highlands and Kuching I was the only white person inside the restaurants and when other travellers looking inside seen me their eyes would widen then smile, they decided to enter as they deemed it 'safe' since there was a white person inside ha ha. However, I have done it myself when in a new country, as it's a natural comfort zone feeling if you know what I mean.

    i understand how you western people feel "safe" when you see other western people in countries like india. but believe me, india is not as dangerous as media shows (remember media will only show what sells, tourists having safe journey is "boring" story so not told). just give india a go and see how you feel it. or if you are worried just ask other travellers who have visited india. Good luck

    They were actually sitting there. There are only a few tables in that restaurant so it's fine to join people, that's a normal thing in the "dhabas" which are small restaurants like that by the street. But that one is popular with the foreigners as well as another one across the street. There aren't many restaurants in that village anyway. You'll see another one in an upcoming video.

    I've been to India my friend. When i referred to people finding restaurants 'safe' if they see another traveller in there eating, it means that they are cautious and by seeing a fellow traveller they become more relaxed and believe that place is safe to eat/drink without getting sick. I had mixed feelings when I was in India before but i'll definitely go again, as I like to give countries another chance if I had a poor experience in them prior. Usually by visiting other parts of the country.

    Swastikha, Sanskrit, is composed of two words: SVA (or SELF) + STIKHA (ESTABLISHED). The word refers to the linkage between the individual Self (Jiva) and the Eternal Self, pure existence. The symbol represents the observed celestial north pole over time: the stars, like the rotating arms of the galaxy, move about The Still Point, or the Self Established POINT that does not move. The mystical direction for us all to establish our Self in the Point that Never Moves, eternally grounded in Being, that remains unchanged by the relative changing world.

  • @GabrielTravelerVideos

    @GabrielTravelerVideos

    7 жыл бұрын

    I don't think you could do that. Just look at a map and see the countries that are in the way: Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. Traveling that route would be a massive undertaking requiring many months, acquiring a number of visas and passing through very difficult terrain geographically as well as politically. And many of those areas certainly don't have trains. Much easier, cheaper and quicker to take a flight!

    I asked because it appeared recently in a newspaper. Just wanted to know. No online map seems to provide the address. One map roughly pointed to a cliff beyond which lies the sea, right next to the Bharateshwar temple. But strangely, no address is available! Your videos of Gokarna are awesome! I love them!

    The picture beside dancing Shiva was of Ma Saraswati (goddess of knowledge and wisdom). that gentleman wrongly said it as Parvati. And the later was of Vyasdeva describing Ganesha the story of Mahabharata which Ganesha agreed to write on behalf of Vyasdeva.

    How Gokarna became a foreigners' next choice. Goa was the first choice not because of what you see now, but the story goes to over 3 decades. There was a hippy culture in 70s and 80s, mostly containing the white foreigners. This grew because of the nudity allowed on the public beaches in Goa. You get down from a bus(public transport), walk five minutes towards the sea and you could see all naked females and males lying on the beach, about 50 of them. This was stopped by an NGO group mainly containing females. Then they migrated to the OM beach in Gokarna finding that the nude public luxury vanished from Goa. Of course, the sun is available everywhere for sun bathing.

    Okay so I have a question. I've noticed that you return to India a lot , not saying india is bad or anything but why not somewhere else like China or Brazil etc.

  • @GabrielTravelerVideos

    @GabrielTravelerVideos

    7 жыл бұрын

    I'm not interested in going to Brazil because I've heard way too many horror stories. Just recently in Goa I talked to a guy who had a gun pulled on him there and they forced him to the ground and were threatening to kill him. No interest in going to places where that kind of stuff happens regularly. I would like to visit China at some point (I've just spent a night in Shanghai when I missed a flight) but it isn't super high on my list for a few reasons. I keep returning to India for the combination of amazing places, new things to see, the friendly culture that you can connect with and feel comfortable in as far as the people, it's super cheap, it's a good place to go in the winter because it's warm, and it's just endlessly fascinating. I think my upcoming videos will illustrate that more because they're going to get better. But there are definitely other places I want to see that I haven't been to yet, Mongolia, the Baltics and eastern Europe in general, the Caribbean, etc.
