Wow, india is beautiful. I know it isn't everybody's cup of tea, but living in a dull american suburb where every house is basically it's own island, i like the chaos and sense of community you see there, as with so many countries

Dear Gabriel let me first thank you for showcasing India to The Western world. You are doing this in a good manner and I am happy that you did not show any disrespect to the less decent things. You have a good knowledge about India and Rishikesh in particular. This video blog of yours reminds me of a Japanese TV show named "somewhere Street". I have been to Rishikesh several times but these Street Views I never had a chance to have. This is your second video I have been watching. the first one was how expensive is Rishikesh. I suggest you watch some episodes of somewhere Street on KZread and it will help you create more better videos. Please keep posting your beautiful videos as many like me would be waiting for them.

15:15 exactly where I had a bathe in the Ganga for the first time :) Thanks for all the great India videos Gabriel, really connects me back there.
Gabriel I love your videos. You show the true essence of the people , towns and cultures of the countries you visit. Not just all the touristy places.
Love your videos bro!!
Very nice inspiring videos . A good sorce of information for travellers. Its amazing to see the amount of energy you have for travelling and exploring new places and also cary a camera filming the entire trip with a live commentary. Really really amazing.
Love that this video is educational. The painting at 12:00 is amazing, and that was a nice man you met along your journey before you got lost in the maze. 😊
It's fantastic to see people's reactions when you go somewhere that isn't often frequented by tourists!
Excellent videos, from years past to now. Always give a thumbs up even before watching because I know it's going to be great. I love walking through those towns with you. Thank you Mr. Morris

Very good shooting and very good coverage of Rishikesh.Thanks a million.
Dude, I was in Rishikesh for one month doing a Yoga course and I didn’t even realize that there is actually a real town called Rishikesh away from where all the tourists stay. So, a big thank you! However, please let me give you one seriously good advice. Never use your left hand to point, touch (“Jesus”), accept food, money or anything else except to wash your butt with water. It never ceases to amaze me how many times I see foreigners in Asia use their left hand. Yes, I know some locals do also but that’s usually a sign of their disrespect of the person they’re dealing with.
The UN should make you an ambassador of tourism. You leave a trail of class, humbleness and honesty wherever you go. It's prevalent here when you decided not to expose the "slums" for what they are for our benefit. We can feel the sorrow that you do in these situations. Once again you're an exceptional person and we are lucky to have and learn by you.

It's Monday here, Canadian Thanksgiving, but a subdued one because it's 2020. These TRANSPORTATIVE videos have special value at present. So much better to watch Gabriel than listen to the morning news. (Tim Ferris is so right about media fasts). In a contest between cyclical broadcasting of perpetual anxieties and issues or a street level Utube Travel Video humbly presented, there is no contest.
Superb video clips Gabriel👌 thank u very much for sharing. Hope i can go there one day.

10:10.. I see.. You have learned to cross the roads the "Indians" way..🙌 That is exactly how we do.. Nailed it.. 😃
I used to operate the white water jet boat above Rishikesh 30 years ago. There is so much to see and do around Rishikesh. I had encounters with tigers, black leopards and elephants up the river and in the valleys. You can head up to hike into the Temples of Shiva way up the Ganges. Go in before the snow melts and there is almost nobody there. Go quick before you get too old.
I love the videos, really nice, thanks Gabriel
17:20 Beware of those pits. They could be a place to do their washroom activities. Also, they usually have an understanding which area is for men and which for women. and if you are in the women's section...for you it won't be an issue..but for an Indian man they could think he has bad intentions
Rishikesh looks pretty chill and clean...thx 4 sharing

Blossom Russo. I too would have asked anyone, if met any person like him. Whenever I meet somebody from abroad, the second thing I do after greeting him / her is that, I would seek his currency in exchange of local one. I had done that in past. I try to give them exact conversion, sometimes more just to collect them. We don't get chance to travel abroad, so the best thing one can do is to exchange currency to know other country well. It improves your general awareness about that country and it's culture. Sometimes we need to carry enough currency with us when travel abroad. It just improves relation between two countries, and that too with personal touch. That's how I view currency.

Good one, Gabe - my favorite part was when you got lost, and the music came on...:-)......in these situations, ask for the nearest landmark, in this case - The Ganga river - also, when you showed the picture and the place from 7 years ago - nothing changed! - if the old guy had still been there, heck - this is India right? - and again, it never ceases to amaze me the amount of loose animals in traffic......if that was in the west, even for a single wayward mule, the national guard would be brought in and it would make breaking news.....:-).....in India, seems like there is room fore everyone......it's like Noahs Ark...:-)

Why walk when you can get a sunset boat cruise on the Ganges river for 10 rupees? 😄
15 return on the boat....good fun!!!!
25:31 do you or anyone know what it is the man is throwing in the river? It looks like it explodes in the water. I love the music playing on the boat. I like that your shows aren't all sensational and hype and you show kindness and class wherever you go. You're a good role model for me. :)
@arshifun
4 жыл бұрын
Initially that white thing that he's throwing is just flowers. Later in the video when u see something exploding in the water, it's actually just a stone which if thrown with a special technique, splashes water in the pattern like it did. But for that to work, the stone has to be sort of flat and light weight.
Happy Diwali

I noticed you tell them you are from somewhere in California rather than Portland, Oregon. Is this because CA is more recognizable internationally than OR?
@GabrielTravelerVideos

I was raised in northern California, and my mom lives there and that's where I've spent more time since 2009, which was the last time I lived in Portland. So my roots are more in California than Oregon. I moved up to Oregon and lived there about seven years but I'm still pretty much a Californian.

Some towns are cleaner than others. The streets shows that garbage is routinely picked up. I wonder if it is because individual effort or city effort.
