hampi was a glorious town before the Islamic invaders came and destroyed it.
I love how beautiful the colors are. The houses, the clothes, the clay pots, etc. All very pleasing to see.
Maaaaan I HAVE to go to India one day. Looks so incredible!
I love the snap shots (still frames) you catch of people, really feels surreal
Really liked the editing you did-- the slow mos, the snap shots , really enjoyable Gabe, good job!
South India is beautiful - thats where i did spend 2 1/2 years and i loved it ( specially Tamil Nadu and Kerala )

I never really have met any Indians before though through your videos they seem like nice people for the most part.
I liked the music incorporated with the video , thanks for posting
Nice one Gabriel, I admire you. I loved all that local social interaction!

loved it as you said " there's nowhere like india for sure" 🙏
Awesome vid mate, safe travels 😎
Love your videos and travels man very authentic keep them coming!! What country next?
Take care Gabriel, and happy travels!♥
Gabe. the highway authorities will buy the land beside the roads and compensates the residents if the land belongs to them, which is the case mostly. or they notify and evict illegal dwellings built years back from highway sides.
This is by far one of the most amazing videos that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. I actually FELT that I traveled with you! High quality video and those stills...mind blowing, haunting...slices of time frozen one still at a time. Everyday activities, people engaged, doing their daily business and there I am part of it all. Thank you! :)

I really enjoy seeing all the trash on the ground and in the water. Quite beautiful in my opinion!
Yeah the buses are insane super fast been to south
I really enjoy and appreciate your videos, Gabriel (and like the occasional "stills") - very informative. I'm about a year behind you in travels - am currently living at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala and will probably stay here through 2017 . Am considering India for 2018. Thanks and stay safe!
Really enjoyed seeing all those cows on the road! Fun times in India, for sure. 😎🌴

Yes, very true. This was a government bus. Keep in mind that often the private/tourist buses go at night which is something I don't like to do. I took this bus because it was direct and left early in the morning, rather than driving through the night.
Great still images from a moving bus.
Most interesting journey! Thx.

The sound was perfect. I did not notice it too quiet or loud at any point and I watched it with headphones. The subtitles helped clarify things when the bus was moving. I am sure any bus trip in India will have lots of noise.
🎶 "What a looooong, strange trip it's been..." 🎶 I kept hearing "Truckin" in my head watching this. 😄 That's quite a PINK room, tho'! What a wonderful taste of India! Thanks! (BTW, that Iconntechs footage is way better than any of the GoPro stuff, IMO. It's been a great performer! Love it! Poor Olympus, though... I know. You'll get to replacement as you can. It's just interesting to really see the difference. Still, the story is great & that's the most important thing.)

Yeah too bad the Iconntechs crapped out. That's a trip that it looks even better than the GoPro. But I'll be showing much more of Hampi in coming videos, working on a new one now.

Gabriel Traveler I'm not a fan of the GoPro fisheye distortion. It really gets up my nose. So, the Iconntechs has no distortion like this, and maybe it's just a subjective thing, but I feel like the stabilization is better, too. It seems like a really solid camera for the price. I may even decide to get one. Do you have affiliate links/are you on the affiliate program with Amazon?
@GabrielTravelerVideos
7 жыл бұрын
The stabilization is definitely better with the Iconntechs. And you can actually change the angle of the lens on it, which you can't do with the GoPro. Amazing that it's less than a third of the price. I asked them about an affiliate program but they didn't have one. It's somewhere on my do list to set one up with Amazon. So for now, just go for it, looks like they're still only $90. That camera totally improved my channel, I think it's safe to say.

Everyone is talking about 4K now, but is hard to see how you can beat 1080p / 60fps in today's environment. Great vids with that Iconntechs! From what I heard, 4K file sizes are so huge that they are hard to process on standard equipment and I don't understand how 4K gets you anything on a 1080p monitor unless you get some extra detail sampling down. I just don't understand the interest in 4K unless the manufacturers are hyping it to get you to buy new equipment.
@GabrielTravelerVideos
7 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. This computer I'm using can't even play 1080p properly and it's brand new. The video lags relative to the audio during playback. So 4k isn't going to be watchable for most people anyway. 1080p is great quality, if it ain't broke don't fix it as they say. I don't see the point in shooting in 4k for travel vlogs, although I guess there are a select few people out there who have huge 4k tv screens that utilize it. But for me it isn't worth the bother to have to deal with those bigger files and everything.
You should buy the "Don't worry, be hempi" T-shirt!

So many travel vloggers make the scene about themselves - if I want to see some creepy hipster doing the Funky Chicken up and down the Champs-Élysées, I’ll dial into the comedy channel. I like your videos because you insert just enough of yourself to propel the narrative. I also like that you provide costs. I am on Social Security so this increases the fantasy value for me because I can say to myself: “Hell yeah, I can afford that”. I like good production values and you obviously spend a considerable amount of time with edits and sound. I also like quirky and sincere and real slice of life. I also like the food travel vlogs with details of the eats found. I’d rather see a guy exploring the backstreets of Siam Reap and finding a good noodle shop than some dude humping around Angkor Wat. Here are a few of my favorites: Mark Wiens AV Daniel Violin (quirky) Mikey Chen 2012escapee1 Aden Films AlmazanKitchen Matt Granger (International Photography) I poke around all the time so there are probably several hundred channels I have visited more than once. Once I find one I like I’ll go through their back catalog - I think I have seen about half of yours to date and I keep up on your new ones as they are released.

Very well said Mr. Stokes. My thoughts as well.
A couple of years ago, traveling from Delhi to Agra I was surprised by the huge number of different modes of transport. Similar to this trip. The number of times the drivers would use their vehicle horns for little reason was surprising too.

Cool, you were here recently? I've been in Hampi about 9 days now. Funny thing is this is the place where I've gotten recognized the most in my travels, it's happened three times already. Had nice conversations with everyone and went out to dinner with a group of four Indians who had seen my videos before their trip here. Pretty cool.

Nice video, i have Travelled in india but only in the north. i wish i'd had a video camera
That is not earth quake,they r road widening so removing all the houses.Some day u shud visit hogenekal water falls on kaveri river, Which is 150 kms towards south from Banglore . A great place.
brother you are real traveller ..I love your video...I asked you before to visit north east i would consider you again to visit arunachal pradesh
Nice vlog.. Good that the bus wasnt crowded. You should check out Ganpatipule or Ratnagiri, Vengurla n malwan; if possible by a bike. The roads are along the arabian sea. Great for photography. Also have few spiritual places. Accomodation is affordable. And a lot of spots where can feel very peaceful even with many people around. Message me if you need any info on getting there; that is if you are in India now.
Good day Gabriel, nice video. :) , curious to know which camera you used to record the video as it looks real good.
@GabrielTravelerVideos
7 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it David. For future reference, whichever cameras I use are always stated in the info section below the video, since I have three cameras right now and use different ones for different videos. So for this video I mostly used my Iconntechs camera. Then all three of my batteries for that ran out and I was going to switch to my GoPro but it turned out it wasn't charged up at all. Too bad, because the ending part would have looked way better. So instead I finished filming the video with my old Olympus (there's a subtitle in the video mentioning when I started using it).
Most of Karnataka lies on Uplands. So we can see a moderate temperature or cool climate compared to other South Indian states. But the weird thing is, they grow coconuts even in these land, which is above 3000 to 4000 ft. Where coconut is basically grows in coastal area.
Where do you get the nice music for this?
Those houses were demolished for widening the Road ,.. from single/double lane road to 4-6 lane roads.. sooner you will see wider roads... For 3-4 years this part of the world did't have enough rains,... this years most parts had rain.. you should visit these places now, this time of the year.. it will be greener much greener...& pleasant..
Curious whats your favoirte place you have been to in all the years of your travels and why?
If u ever get time than visit manglore,dharmasthala shri manjunatha tempel its a nice place
How come you only made 10 hours? what was your itinerary more exactly? Which towns? Thanks!
Mr Gabriel ...if u have time i would recommend u to visit the 7 sister states of india especially meghalaya + sikkim. ....but i am not sure about if it is the right season. check it out..bye the way i love ur video...this whole week i have been watching ur trip to eu ...

There was no earthquake or bombing. They broke the constructions for making way for highways expansion. This is happening throughout India. The country, huge as it is, in the midst of a massive infrastructural transformation. Ten years from now the country will be changed forever.

This was mostly filmed with my Iconntechs camera, then at the end with my Olympus. See the info section for the full names.
at the end of the video you are entering a restaurant by putting off your shoes. Question: isn't this dangerous in means of risk of a theft? This would be interesting for me to know, so I can compare India e.g with Morocco, where leaving the (good quality) shoes in front of a mosque during prayer is not adviced. Thanks!
@GabrielTravelerVideos

Yes, it's a risk. I actually got my sandals stolen in Hampi the last time I was there four years ago while visiting the Hanuman temple. So pissed, I'd just bought them the day before in Hampi and really liked them and when I went back to the same store to buy another pair, they didn't have the same ones. I think that's the only time that happened. So it's not a bad idea to decide to take them with you, just depends on what you feel like. I think I just figure it's unlikely and if it happens, then I buy another pair so maybe it's better than worrying too much about it.

Usually they don't have ice in them. If there is ice, you're definitely taking a bit of a chance. But I've had them anyway and things worked out okay. You never know 100% whether food is safe in India, or elsewhere for that matter. Luckily I've managed to not get food poisoning in all of my travels.

True. But usually the a/c tourist buses go during the night and I prefer traveling during the day so that I can see the countryside (and make videos). Also this one was cheap and direct. We didn't need a/c, it wasn't that hot out.
Those cows in the middle of the road are really good drivers. They go straigh and don' t hit cars. They most be better than women because there seems to be no women driving anything in India. Women who don, t drive are not good in bed..... Prices don' t go up, its only busy season. Of course, its a hot spring break destination !!
