    Turkey is one of the most beautiful countries in the world

  • @alfsen_3426

    @alfsen_3426

    It's beautiful, and it has some amazing places. But Greece and Italy are most definitely far more consistently beautiful than Turkey. Turkey's more interesting mountain elevation differences are mostly on the sides of Turkey as these elevations will go to a long plateau that leads over Turkey. The elevation difference on these plateau's are much smaller and far less beautiful than the sides. I know because I have traveled all the way to the east of Turkey. This is aside the many dilapidated and run down towns and villages more deeper inwards in Turkey. And even Istanbul's outer areas have many rundown architectures. Meanwhile Greece and Italy have far more diverse landscapes and in case of Greece 80% mountains all around, giving you gorgeous views wherever you are. Then the combination of mainland and 6000 islands and 16.000 km of crystal clear coastlines, 32% forests while Turkey has far less. Or the architectures of Greece and Italy are much more picturesque than what's in Turkey. But again. Im no hater by any means. You write something, I can agree or disagree right? I can be honest that I liked Pammukale alot and Cappadocia and some other places. It's just when you say "the most beautiful country in the world" that I can easily disagree for the reasons already mentioned above. But for many more reasons. Turkey is a beautiful country, but it lacks many things that Greece or Italy has and it's beauty is far less consistent throughout the country than Greece/Italy. And then for me the people. People in Italy where generally friendly but at the same time a bit too focused on money. People in Greece where generally incredibly friendly and hospitable. People in Turkey where generally friendly, but also had alot of scammings or people that try to get money from you one way or another. This was not a good experience.

    @@nightknight2820 orient man. Not really. It entirely depends on what and how much you have seen, what you have done. I have traveled extensively in these countries. The issue here is that people can use tit for tat commentary like: "uhh yeah I have been in this country", but then only visited a few places, while missing out on it's greatest assets. Greece is easily a country like that. As I said. With Greece's 80% mountains over a spread out area with 6000 islands makes every place in Greece unique. So with that explanation. I beg to differ. It has snowcapped mountains all the way to the only natural palm forests of Europe. From 32% lush forests of all kinds (Turkey has 15%) all the way to volcano's, geological paradises or rugged beauties. From high mountain plateau's to lowlands. All stone types also characterise many different regions of Greece. Whereas many mountains in the Alps are a bit similar to eachother, In Greece there are many mountain chains that are very different from another in both geology, geography, and so on. Also for instance. With 16.000 km of crystal clear coastlines its not only the largest in the Mediterranean, but also by far the most diverse due to Greece's spread out surface area, there are many types of geologies and stone types and colors. And with Greece's 80% mountains, Every places, region or coast is different. And another thing is. Wherever you are at any coast in Greece, you will always have multi layering going on unlike any other country. Because if you look at the geography and topography of Greece, which is heavily indented and very complex, wherever you are in Greece at any point, you always have spectacular layers of mountains, islands, seas, lakes, and so on after another. In countries like Spain or Turkey you dont have that as it's a single mass. Also. With those 80% mountains and 6000 islands Greece has not only a very high biodiversity but a high percentage of endemicity because mountains and islands created alot of isolation and unique local species. Greece and Turkey have roughly the same extremely high amount of archaeological sites and is together with Mexico the highest in the world. The only difference is that Greece landwise is smaller, but does not give in in terms of diversity. On the contrary. The amount of history is in far higher density. And do note. We don't only talk about classical Greece, which is entirely overfilled in both countries. I mean all the other historic time periods and civilizations like Myceneans, Minoans, Helladic, Cycladic, hittite, etc. There is ofcourse much more to be said. But I'll leave this as mere examples. Both Italy, Greece and Turkey have very high diversity of all kinds. That is for sure. And we can easily discuss the details here as I was doing as a headsup. But more importantly we where talking about "beauty". And Greece and Italy are consistently far move beautiful throughout the country than Turkey. With the strongest argument that I can give that Turkey's inland is one big mountain plateau with much much smaller differences and far less beautiful than the other 2 countries that I mentioned and Turkey's surrounding outer regions near the coasts . And Frankly. MOST of Turkey's "tourist destinations" are in these non-plateau's outer regions. So even that proves my point.

    @@alfsen_3426 Greece is beautiful, but in Turkey you can see similar things, plus you can visit cappadocia which is a beauty of it's own, Black Sea mountains, you can visit Kars to sneak peek into Caucasian culture, you can go snow boarding in high mountains of Erzurum while others are swimming in the south. Not to mention middle eastern part, just google Mardin. Greece is just Greece while Turkey is Europe, Asia minor, southern Caucasus and middle east. Don't get me wrong I love Greece and ancient Greek cities here in Turkey. Also our architecture is ugly.

    Everybody go to Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum or Kapadoya even tough there are also many things to be seen in the rest of Turkey, especially in Anatolia, if you are an history enthusiast you can also go to Corum and see the place where there was the Hittite Empire. You can also go to Bursa to see very beautiful houses from the Ottoman Empire time and also very old mosquee too, they still have very old bridges one that even has a closed market on it. For people that are nature enthusiast they should see Van, or the north of Anatolia. Mardin has also a very specific beautiful landscape.Anyway, try to visit others parts from Turkey seriously it is worth.

    Istanbul is amazing, you literally need weeks to explore the city. Btw, public transport is quite efficient and cheap, you should buy an Istanbul pass at the airport and you'll be able to use all the transport there from trains to metro to buses. An alternative and faster way to reach the other side of the European part to Hagia Sophia would be taking the metro from Taksim or from Şishane stations at the end of Istiklal Cd

    As you can see Turkey is a safe country and Turkish people are one of the most welcoming people to foreign visitors. Everyone in the world should see the Istanbul before die. There are many more to see. I live in the USA and recommend lots of people to visit Turkey. I realized that all of the people changed their attitude after they see the Turkey. People should not judge the country according to media. Believe me it can be different. You will understand what I mean if you visit the Turkey. Please note that Turkey is not an Arabic country. It is a modern, well educated, respectful country to everyone else in the world. In addition, if you are a visitor they will be more respectful toward you. Because it is a cultural thing and visitors deserves the best according to Turks.

    As a TURK, I'm very sorry for the guy and the refugees but we can't do anything about it because there is a war in Syria. I want to say that it is better to live an stay at a hotel in Asian side, where all of my family grew up. European side is more crowded and is for to go to universities, travel, etc. even though there are more high quality of people, and clean streets in the Anatolian side. Anyway, it is an amazing city with mix of lots of European and Asian cultures, and where you can do almost everything you want. From my point of view, İstanbul is the most gorgeous (It's probably because I love History and learning different cultures, and of course I grew up in İstanbul, Göztepe.), and the center of the world in point of culture, history, etc.

    As a local, I never go to those places. Watching the crowd made me sick. The music and the people.. It feels like another country. Tourists like these places but it is far from how we live everyday.
