    Hey there Johnno, your accident on ice is not good at all. Please go to a doctor, make an x-ray, you can have a broken rib or even two or three. It's possible, but I hope you have nothing broken. A few years ago I had a fall by bicycle, I had broken five ribs! Please be careful, take care of yourself. I wish you all the best and a quick recovery. Stay safe mate 🙂👍 And many thanx for your nice video 😉

    My boss bought a new Scania 144G 530 hp back in year 2000,i was in the Mack Titan and requested me to take on the new vehicle. I said no way Jose....forget it,its not happening. After i had a look at it i kind of said yeah why not. After the first trip to Melbourne and back from Sydney,i was not going back to the Mack.... This vehicle was so good can drive with ease,came with manual gear box with opticruise auto. You drive it like a damn car. I used to take home and clean look after it. I preferred the American but European manufacturers do better job in driver comfort. Everything is so good with there design to make you feel better on long trips. I do realise operators do buy common vehicles for repair and maintenance at availability to keep you on the road. With my experience European built is paramount with technology.

  • @RoadTrainAdventures

    @RoadTrainAdventures

    8 ай бұрын

    Yes you're right. European trucks are built for comfort for staggers highways. They're not built to last though. A Kenworth can last a long time on both the highway and rough roads. I remember we had a breakdown up near Darwin. We hired a truck to finish making the delivery. One rule was that we weren't allowed to take this European truck off on dirt roads. Why? Because the hire company knows they don't last on dirt.

    Old school cool those long nose trucks. I don't know if it is a reality. But certainly in my part of Qld. I am seeing more and more cab overs. Particularly Mercedes. We recently had a big truck show in my town. A lot more cab overs. A majority of which, if European. Will be auto. A lot easier to drive. I even see on heavy haulers Australia. One of the guys towing mining gear about. Auto box. I have a licence for a Road Ranger box. But wouldn't say I like them. Was used to synchronised box in UK. And have done that here too. Plus one auto truck. Need more practice on the crash boxes. Those big Kenworths are a home from home.

  • @RoadTrainAdventures

    @RoadTrainAdventures

    8 ай бұрын

    That's great Dave. I actually hate auto. They do not change gears how I like. No way. Give me manual anyday. The European trucks won't last the distance. Get rid of them before they get to half a million as they'll start breaking from them on.

  • @davetaylor4741

    @davetaylor4741

    8 ай бұрын

    @@RoadTrainAdventures Agree about the totally auto boxes. But like the guy doing heavy haulage. He had a push button gear select. He was changing gears on Toowoomba range with mining trucks on board. Takes stick for it but loves his auto. Australia is big. But what a lot of Aussies forget. Not that big. In the UK my neighbour was a truckie. Got home Friday nights. Left Sunday afternoon. Lived in a truck the rest. He only drove on the continent. Vast distances like you. Across Russia. Much bigger. There are loads clocking up millions of miles. Some doing oversized loads. Not a long nose American truck in sight. All technically way more advanced trucks. And a lot easier to drive long distances. Easier to manoeuvre. Not such a problem here. But tried and tested in Ice, Snow, Heat. All sorts. I love the look of the long nose trucks. But for a daily driver. Simplicity and less fatigue. The cab over takes some beating.

  • @RoadTrainAdventures

    It's called the Fresco 3000. This model might be about 12 years old.
