One major thing I would note that isn't mentioned here, is that the Jewish mines that successfully brought down the Roman ramps at the Antonia fort had also weakened the foundations of the fortress itself, which helped the Romans breach it. Additionally, the tunnels didn't burn the foundations of the ramps (Being that they were, well, piles of dirt essentially). Rather, the Jews dug out large caverns that were held up by wooden supports. Thus, when they set light to the wooden support, they collapsed and the whole area fell inwards like a sinkhole, and the partly-smothered flames then caught on any wood that had been on the ramps at the time. As others have noted, it's also a little harsh on the success or lack of success of Vespasian, as well as the broadly heroic representation of one side over the other being a touch iffy. Though, of course, that's not to call the Romans heroes either, not by a long shot.

Very well made. A great story from the past, a great lesson for today who will appreciate it? ❤️

Still..... Israel nation is God's firstborn, no matter how many disobediences there were, they are still His firstborn. We as those who believe in Yeshua are a wild branch that is grafted into the the main and are saved only by grace. We many times disobey God but that dosent mean He forsakes us. This video is not biased at all. It sum pretty well "The Jewish War" by Jusephus in addition to other historic evidences by ancient Roman historians. The Jewish fighters where insanely brave and initiative. The roman army have never been too brave or initative. Their main advantage was their huge army with almost endless manpower, and most developed warfare technology.

The Romans wanted the gold from the top of the temple so it's unlikely that it was burned intentionally. As it happened, the gold melted and ran down between the stone walls. The Romans had to tear down every stone to retrieve the gold. Stones that weight several tons each. Just as Jesus prophesied, not one stone was left standing upon another.

But I'm not an expert on the buildings in Jerusalem. I just know what the words in scripture say and the historical events that took place after. People can nit pick at petty details and say it means this or didn't mean that but the fact of the matter is that the temple was destroyed.

"Even Vespasian could not defeat them". By saying this they imply that Jewish forces were really powerful but actually they were not. In fact Vespasian was proclaimed by his legions as Roman Emperor and he decided to march to Rome to seize power. He left the command of the army to his son Titus. That was the only reason as to why he did not manage to crush Jewish revolt. He just had more important things to do at the time.

A good video overall, though to imply that Vespasian was basically unsuccessful in the earlier part of the campaign is I feel a little bit too strong in my mind. After all, by the time he had left for Rome during the Year of the Four Emperors he had successfully conquered Galilee. He was also in the process of subduing Judea before he left Titus in charge of the siege of Jerusalem. It was a long campaign after all and presumably, if he hadn't made his attempt to become emperor, he would have been the one to finish the campaign, and not Titus.

Actually the second temperle was nowhere near as splendid as the first temple build by King Solomon, and most of the important religious artifacts were hidden,as the jews in era of second temple were on a way lower spiritual level than the jews in Solomon's time

There are differences however we do not believe him to be Son of God we believe him to be one of Gods prophets, who came to warn the people. Many put the date before the destruction of the temple, many put the date after the destruction of the temple. After reviewing both sides, my opinion is it was written before the destruction. So I disagree with your statement.

@@JustinHerchel the fact that John doesn't specifically mention the destruction of the temple is one of the main reasons why I prefer the early date. John alludes to the coming destruction, which all seems to point to Jerusalem, which means before the destruction of the temple. But as you said, we each can read the arguments and make up our own mind.

If the Old Testament biblical god were to exist I'd probably wouldn't want to be his friend. If he just sits there with his phone camera filming while the people who love him get roasted by Romans then he's a sadistic enemy combatant. If you love someone you would love him on your own free will. Loving someone because you will be fed to the lions and set on fire if you don't love him isn't love, it's Stockholm Syndrome.

The only thing I would say is that as clearly as Josephus talks about the tower of Antonia he equally talks about the fort of Antonia. He says that the tower held a cohort and that the fort always held a legion. And that the tower is in the top left hand corner of the fort.

What I find amazing is that the doctrine of pre-trib rapture and the great tribulation is being revealed to be unsound, not Truth. The prophecy that Jesus spoke of is this!
