A Tech Giant Discovers Transcendence

Ойын-сауық

Dr. Federico Faggin invented the microprocessor-thus helping to launch the modern technological revolution. Later in life, he had a remarkable experience that afforded him profound insight into what he believes is the arena of the next human revolution-consciousness and transcendence.

Yes, most people have been raised and “ brainwashed” pun intended, in scientific materialism. What this physicist is expressing is what I believe is the closest approximation to the truth of the nature of existence. It would not be wrong to call him an idealist. Donald Hoffman is another physicist with a similar point of you. They support statements like “reality is an illusion, or reality is a headset, and another would be consciousness is fundamental and reality is an interface.

Thank you for this gift. Both of you. Two years ago, last October I had a completely unsought spiritual experience that occurred during an apex of intense suffering. I knew nothing of spiritual teaching or had ever been exposed to it. Everything that I defined myself as… had been taken… and exactly then I experienced directly that my personal sense of self, wasn’t actually there. There is only one aware being… and it’s everyone and everything. “Forgoing “self” the Universe grows I”.

One of the best analogies I ever heard was that everything that you see including your body is an icon… An icon like on your laptop on the dashboard. The icon on your dashboard just represents what’s going on inside of your computer, which is beyond comprehension to most people…. just like ultimate reality… Until you experience it, of course.

consciousness is a quantum field… an interesting idea that the scientific world has to test digest review for years. Faggin could sound like a charlatan but he has the greatest credentials beeing himself an inventor ,a great inventor. That changes everything beeing his ideas that seem almost disconnetted from reality deviced by a man who is profoundly in touch with reality , .A physicist that talks like a philosopher and employs quantum fields to understand consciousness and deny mere classic determinism. A very new perspectives that has a bit in common with induism or other asian way of thinking..

Human consciousness consists of two main divisions. Prompted consciousness (induced) and unprompted (spontaneous) consciousness. The artificial intelligence at present uses the prompted consciousness in a limited way. The present-day AI is very limited if we are to consider it as intelligence compared to live intelligence. Capabilities in AI are limited by its algorithms and the data (knowledge base) it is presented with. Every algorithm stops after its function has been completed. And its predictions are limited by its capacity to process on the available data when it stops. For human consciousness to be created in a machine, algorithms should be able to move from prompted knowledge to unprompted knowledge. If we are to create such perpetual unprompted, algorithms, they must have data source of unlimited continuousness as a flame of a lamp, or the stream of a river and it should not be boring. Another name for boring is latency. Pinsith . Com

Dr. Faggin is many things and above all he is a great thinker. I have always felt that we and the universe are one and that consciousness is a way for us to know the connections that make us one. God/universe and consciousness mean different things to different people perhaps enlightenment is the way to full consciousness and knowing those things.

Federico Faggin has understood the question in the Bible, "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul"? This interview has explicitly brought out the loss, that faces every other man who ''gains the whole world and loses his soul". FF did that, but somehow found the way into gaining his soul; thereby knowing the nature of the self and existence! This eternal philosophy has never been understood nor accepted by science; the followers of materialism dogma. But it is the teaching of the mystics, in every worthwhile religion.

Stewart Brands : Yes, the more you want to incorporate " infinity " in your scientific way of thinking, the more you isolate yourself because it is still very difficult to communicate among each other about it. That's the reason why D.Bohm payed more and more attention to another way of knowing, which I also appreciate. The mathematical reason behind it is that handling infinite matrices over fields behave quickly "very wild " : non-commutative AND non - associative and .... After all, I think that the mathematician Hilbert came up with the idea to use complex numbers and it was the physicist Heisenberg who tried to implement it in physics but could not avoid bordering himself to finite matrices over the complexes, which behave associative. This creates, of course , a lot of " singularities " .....

Yes ,that makes a lot of sense. The term "quantum" is from the Latin for how much, or a discrete amount. It was first used to describe the energy needed in the photoelectric effect to disengage an electron. That led to electron energy levels. It describes discreteness. So it is inappropriate to use the term Quantum physics for what they study. They study probabilities and that as you say is not discrete. That is why Fedrerico says a quantum bit cannot be discrete. If it cannot be discrete then studying these things has nothing to do with quanta and the word quantum is misused resulting in confusion.

I always thought there was something out there but refused to swallow many made religions because there was too many man made rules and interpretations much of which had no hard evidence or logic behind it. So I was more scientific and went down the same path as Dr Federico here and my thought was happiness will come from hard work, financial stability, making sure children are educated and looked after and so on. Well I never did find happiness or contentment in any of this although I am happy to have done all of this I am not "whole", never have felt right, something missing. On my journey I did explore man made religions, I tried hard to accept it but blind faith is not me. In the last 6 months I got hooked on podcasts and videos by famous astronomers and physicists. I started to hear more about Quantum physics and how it worked, what we knew, results of experiments and it blew my mind. Not only did the results blow my mind but all of these "Big Brains", famous scientists etc, their minds were also blown and I started to hear how all of them had no answer, they were all stumped. Not only were they stumped but new lines of thought they raised were often pointing to something mystical or spiritual and not so much traditionally scientific. Bottom line I am now feeling excited for this, the merging of science and "The One" is happening and I will be embarking on a search of my own for this "Transcendence" and discover the part of me that has always been missing and I know I will not be joining any of the man made religions but making my own connection. Wish me luck.

It's so great that Federico Faggin is using his wealth to fund research into transforming what has been a dangerous, reductionist materialistic approach to science which has been a major influence on the pervasive ego-centred destructive forces prevalent in our world today . Wonderful. I'm subscribing. Thank you. These ideas verge on the mystic traditions. I'd recommend a book like the late Idries Shah's The Sufis...recommended also by Robert Graves, Robert Ornstein and Doris Lessing. The emphasis on the One evokes Plotinus (especially his sixth tractate "Beauty", or "On Beauty"). Dr. Faggin is tuned into an ancient discovery of what constitutes human consciousness at its highest. Meister Eckhart said, "The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me; my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love." No wonder he got in trouble with the Inquisition. I enjoyed your questions also. Thanks Elwin Wirkala, sorry no "@)" ...!

I found the MOMENT that this guy knew that there was something else other than electrical signals making it all be real , and his honesty to face the mystery . I wrote on another reader , but Bill Watterson just created an illustrated book " The Mysteries " which attempt to approach this topic . ALL of my songs are about this , the only thing worth contemplating . Having watched many "The One is World Consciousness" by Frederico Faggin, Benardo Kastrup, and Donald Hofman, none have tackled the principle of Justice. So is Mother Teresa and Hitler's Consciousness "partwhole of the One", start off on an even platform in the new conscious? No, I like to think Mother Teresa communicates and finds love from the people she helped. Whereas Hitler will experience the conscious pain and suffering he caused to millions and this won't go away until he begs forgiveness. This is what Hell can be. Following from the Principe of Justice what is a sin? Coveting your neighbours' goods happens all the time, but most people get over it. The most serious would be be.killing and stealing and bearing false witness against thy neighbour. Is there a hierarchy of sin seriousness in "The One"Whole World" Consciousness?"
