What they call support is micromanagement not emotional support.

It's funny how when a teacher does something, parents want the harshest punishment. However, when little Johnny does something, he's just being a child 🤔.

Yeah, teachers are adults. Children’s brains aren’t fully formed yet. I get kids are bad but saying you want to shoot them isn’t ok. Let’s stop playing stupid here

I’ve been threatened with bodily harm this year 4 times. Do you know what happened? Nothing. What’s worse is that it’s in the contract that if a student threatens a teacher then the student is supposed to automatically be sent to another school, regardless of whether or not the principal thinks the student wouldn’t do it.

I agree. Oh and take it a step further, the school doesn't want the teacher to call the police or press charges. Wrong answer, they are always calling for our jobs, I'll call the real police and not school rent a cop.

In our district, now if anything happens, you first have to contact the parent before you can even write a referral. If there is no parent contact, the referral is thrown out

@lisalovett5902 so sad. I really wish you the best. Those of us who are excellent teachers and care about the students really need to stand and stick together. I hope the remainder of your year is well. Don't give up, but if need be look for somewhere else, I know I am. 😉

I'm so tired of these over the top, semi to nonexistent parents. The admin and powers that be above the working teachers make all these demands, then allow parents and students to get away with straight murder, but as soon as teachers express themselves, he/she should be fired. Get out of here. Maybe parents should start being parents, and school should be about the business of learning instead of being about the business of play and do what you want to whom you want.

The teachers are under a lot of stress, and parents will send them to school knowing they made those children angry and stressed out, and these children have noway to but to school acting out. Where is the relief for the teachers 🤔

The 6 year who brought a gun to school, it was reported to the teacher who then reported it to admin, shot his teacher and now that district is saying that the incident should be treated as work men's comp. Students don't get suspended or expelled for what they say OR do. The teacher is stressed and that needs to be addressed. That AP should have known own that.

Yeah, you can't express thoughts like this, even in jest, but parents really think a kid would be expelled? Please. We're threatened daily. Too bad kids can't be held to any standards.

And ask those parents if there has ever been someone they worked with that they at least wanted to slap. Yes threats even in jest are no nos but everyone has had that one client or boss that makes you insane.

Definitely can understand being a frustrated teacher, BUT you can't say sugar honey iced tea like that and not expect parents to react this way. Hell, I would be concerned for my safety as her colleague. Its time for her to find another profession, honestly.

The problem I have with this scenario is that this teacher confided in the assistant principal. How in the world did anyone else, especially parents, find out how the teacher was feeling in a time of weakness? That’s a major breach in confidentiality. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I think EVERYBODY who has had a job has felt this way whether u a teacher, cashier at a fast food chain or doctor. People can work ur last nerve.

I understand the frustration of my fellow educators, BUT her comments are alarming. If my child's teacher talked about shooting her students, even as a joke, I would not feel ok about it.

This is just something for us to think about. As education professionals, we are asked to the role models for our students. Both INSIDE and OUTSIDE the classroom, we have to be on our best behavior and not do anything that would hinder our students' image of us. If we fail to be the ideal role model, our students stop listening to us. I see this teacher as someone who is doing what all of us want our students to do. Confide in someone (professional, teacher, or administrator) when you feel like you're not okay. This teacher did EXACTLY that. And now they're being chastised for it??? And yet we expect our students to come up to us and confide in us when something is wrong (personal or otherwise)? This is why our student don't. How do you expect our students to do that if you treat a teacher this way. I'm not saying this against EddieBComedy. I'm saying this against the public who is treating this teacher like dirt. And we wonder why the education system of america is slowly dying. Rant over. *mic drop.*

Listen, I get that kids are bad but there’s never a time, even joking, that a teacher should say she wants to shoot them. We not just gonna allow any damn thing. That’s outrageous

She needed support and a break. It's funny how parents don't see that their kids can push the limits of others. I mean you will be quick to say my kids knows how to push my limits but at school the teacher should sucknit up. Wr are all human. I hope she gets a better job with better support.
