A Sweet Rice Tahchin | The Cooking Show
Ойын-сауық
In this episode of The Cooking Show, Farideh adapts one of her favorite Iranian dishes: Tahchin, also known as Persian Baked Rice Cake.
Instead of following tradition with a savory tahchin, Farideh uses honey, saffron, and orange blossom water to make this sweet variation. It’s fragrant, fruity, nutty, and perfectly crispy on the bottom.

The editing reminded me of Bon-Appetite videos with Brad...
Definitely a recipe to try🙂👍. I'm trying to imagine how orange and saffron flavours pair together.. a flavor explosion for sure..Farideh, you rock 👌

Definitely not traditional in the slightest, but it’s a interesting and different recipe! I’ll still try it! But the original is my fav!
Love it. Iranian cooking is awesome.
Oh Joy! A deliciously looking recipe to use saffron in!
That looks REALLY SO GOOD >>>>>OH YES ..........👍👍.........
How to identify Farideh's recipe: ✓Layers ✓Butter(a lot) ✓Being rude ? ✓drinking in the middle of the video ✓munch on half the things

Knife is from a Kickstarter, the company is called Artisan Revere
She probably keeps other herbs and spices in that drawer I'm sure. I would love to see her and super precise and organized Claire cook together.
This looks so good!
Poor Persecuted Peter
I want to start a Farideh fan club!! She’s is the most adorable chef ever!!!❤️❤️
That looks so good!!!
I could live on this stuff. looks so good.
Your awesome as always. Love your vids.
That looks really good. Even though it's a sweet tahchin, I bet you could serve it along with a savory, spicey dish. I'm going to make this.
She’s gorgeous
Omg it looks pretty cool im gnna cook it
Farideh makes cooking so fun not like doing homework.
That is awesome 👌❤
This woman is amazing an just the best!

You need smarter friends who can identify slices by look & smell vs relying on labels 🏷 Always love seeing her. She’s great.
looks great
Recipes evolve, I get that. I love pistachios. That looked pretty yummy.
Tachin is the best. Homemade is even better!
Farideh the way you say GO-DEN(golden) is super cute!
Looks tasty.
9:15 Something just as awesome as looking at Farideh.
Your saffron story made you seriously sound like my Persian mom😂👍🏼
What chefs knife is she using? It looks like it has the periodic elements.
That saffron story made me cry a little bit ngl.
Despite these ingredients should not be add in the real traditional Tahchin recepie, it cooked and came out of the oven adroitly. It's Farideh's version of Tahchin 😄
Big fan of Munchies and how much Farideh talks about food. You can tell she is someone who can sit down and talk to you about fucking cauliflower for hours.
The best
knife brand please
I don't know if I just had a "bad batch" or what but I tried saffron in a rice dish ONE TIME over 25 years ago and the horrible taste has lived on in my memory so vividly that all someone has to do is SAY the word saffron and I immediately get a frown on my face. I have no desire to ever try it again so as tasty as this dish looks, if I ever try it, I will DEFINITELY be leaving that ingredient out. Saving my taste buds AND my wallet. Win-win :)
Farideia is great! 😊
Honestly I wish she'd actually make the traditional savory version. Making a "dessert" version kinda lost me especially since it's a rice dish... but it looks good nonetheless.

I think when they do modern adaptions of dishes in these episodes, they should do both versions, traditional as well
I'm in love with Farideh, love her everything, Where is Matty!!!!!!!!!! FARIDEH AND MATTY SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sicily.
I love you Farideh ....
The knife you're using to chop nuts seems to have chemical symbols on it? Could you tell us what it says or where the knife is from?
It looks amazing but it's a really wild take on the original Iranian recipe. As an Iranian living in Iran I have never seen the oranges in between & nuts with honey on top of Tahchin.
I see this lady, I click
I LOVE YOU!!!!
i can't wait to make this 40$ casserole!!
Saffron, vanilla, and definitely some chocolates.
GOD DAMN IT PETER!!
I am in love with Farideh
If one had to explain, what does saffron taste like? I've never had the opportunity to try. .

adelia pujianito tahdig is persian and it usually doesnt have toppings its basically rice with a crunchy/harder top layer. And its usually a yellow/orange on top

tahdig literally means 'bottom of the pot', so its usually just the crunchy rice, crunchy potatoes etc. when you make normal rice. tachin is usually the baked rice with yoghurt that goes crunchy at the bottom
it looks like knafeh
i have sister name farideh .now that you turn tahchin in to shirin polo how you make shirin polo .looking good

Farideh is so freaking cute dawg 😍
I like her(:
I would live in her sock drawer. And, I'd never mess with her saffron. I just wouldn't.
What's with the 80's background lol 😂
@Farideh: What do you do with all this food? You certainly make these in large quantities. Do you eat it yourself, distribute it among the staff at Munchies or do you distribute it to the homeless? Just curious.
If you want saffron to bloom, you need to add boiling water to it & let it rest for a few mintues 😀😀😀
🗣Dammit Peter lol
That's an Italian version of Tachin and you forgot the chicken and barberries.
I'LL TRY WITH TURMERIC BECAUSE SAFFRON IS EXPENSIVE...LOL
I only fly Emirates
I was picturing Loki in Thor Ragnarok.
Instead of putting saffron in your sock drawer, you could also try labeling it as saffron, NOT ground cumin! >:D
Are you trying to do editing like Brad Leon's videos? What I'm trying to say is that you should team up, that would be the greatest thing since creation. Please... Do it.. Please.
spam emirates airlines to sponsor? shall we? 🤔damn it Peter! s/o the editor but ah interesting dish by best cooking channel out also damn i need some Italian friends lol
wars have been fought over saffron...to my understanding.
Yo, make some creamed spinach!!!! Please 😋
He could forget my name and that I ever existed, he's still hot.

I love your cooking videos but I hate the fact that the US uses Cups and spoons to measure everything instead of weight. Shit makes it always so hard for me to correctly replicate the recipes
