What!! A Frisian Flag???? What do the Friesian Horses think of the Frisian flag? Sjirkje and Pjirkje have a nice ride. Together with Rein, Geertje and Faya they go to a village further on. There they go looking for Boukje, Geertje's mother. Boukje is retiring. Today is her last working day after working as a postman for 21 years. She delivered the mail to a village near us. November 7, 2020 was her last day at work.

The Friesians flag symbolism is 7 water lillies for 7 independent regions who were allied against Viking invasions. (That didn't really work as the vikings went wherever they pleased but much like Roman age the wealth was not in these desolate regions so they didn't bother too hard)

It's a very cheerful looking flag - it reminds me of colorful candy wrapping paper. Interesting, that it has, in fact, such a grim history.

Lovely how Rein encourages the women to bring their children into work, into the stables, and then celebrates Boukje, the retiring mom of Geertje and grandma to Faya,. The Dutch village has cozy tranquility and wholesomeness. Faya giggles and smiles all the time, in every video. Happiness abounds in the Netherlands. You all are so blessed! That's the best way to celebrate a retirement. I love that everyone is involved. And you can't beat the sound of the "clippity cloppity" of the horses hooves. x

@@LindaEll89 I have learned listening to Yvonne that the "j" is silent or a ye sound in Dutch...but a J next to a consonant is completely unnatural and never happen in English language. So we struggle with it.

Friesland is different than f.i. Gelderland and even more different than the south. You can't really say it's a Dutch countryside.

@@janegardener1662 Yes, Dutch painting is in a class of its own. The history of European painting cannot be discussed without such names as Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Vermeer.

@@Linda-hs1lk I understand, but over the centuries a distinctive architectural style has developed in the Netherlands. In my opinion, houses from the Netherlands are very difficult to confuse with, for example, from Normandy or England.

It appears the mother horse is very muscular in comparison. A good long stint working the mail run everyday produced a beautiful muscular body on her.
What a lovely, thoughtful thing to do; and you got a great day for it. It made me cry to see how much effort and pizzazz you put in to give this lady a really special day; and it was really apt that the post person was in a cart with your regional flag. By the way Sjirke and Pjirke are complete show offs who know how gorgeous they are and definitely strutted their stuff.

Norah Copithorne Princess Eefje’s just like her mama Uniek beautiful and sweet,always willing to check out something new Royalty through and through. Her sire is Jasper 366 King of Stallions and I see traits from both parents in Eefje she’s proud and regal like her daddy with that same way of moving as Jasper and she has Uniek’s attitude of “do you know who I am” side”I’m a Princess but she’s also very attentive and gentle like Uniek as well.👑👑💖💖
