A very enjoyable movie that I never heard of. I was fascinated by Melanie's ability to convey emotion with nuanced eye and facial movements. This puts her up there among very good, if not great, actresses.

I believe she had cancer on her nose, which, of course, she had no control. It did damage to the rest of her face.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" except! with Melanie and Tippi. Both beautiful/good actresses, but Tippi more refined and elegant and Melanie spontaneous fun side. Love watching them anytime.

In the plot summary, the words after the word "danger" are not an accurate description of the plot. But this was a good movie!

Her voice is child-like. She shows no depth of thought or insight in her face. She is a "popular girl" of her time and does not seem to be aware of other times and cultures. Therefore, she seems unable to play the role she has in this movie. It is a lovely story, but made trite by the lead actors and, probably, by the director.

Saw it twice. Good movie.

A whiff of Witness about it . Had potential but I think the denouement of the crime could have been better developed . Instead the unlikely relationship between cop and hasidim was over emphasised to the detriment of the "whodunnit" .

That's not how you play WAR. When you get matching cards you Call War and then both place 3 cards face down and then one face up and highest card gets them all. Revealing them after a WAR is half the fun of the game.
