The fabrication and mounting of a squirrel nesting box. Materials are 1x12 and 1x10 inch pine boards plus 1/4 x 1 inch maple mullion trim for climbing cleats. All hardware is stainless steel including hinge and bolt latch on bottom cleaning door. Mounting bracket is a Simpson Strong-Tie 14 gauge T plus two 4 inch corner braces. All wood is unfinished-- just the way squirrel's like it. The box is attached to the West side of the tree and the well protected entrance faces the South.
