In the book, Aegon and Helaena had actually three children. Two sons and one daughter. Cheese threatened Helaena that he'll sexually assault her daughter if she does not choose, so she chooses the youngest one, Maelor, hoping he's too young to understand. But they kill Jahaerys instead. So, ever since, Maelor has to live with the fact that his mother chose him to die over his brother.

There are differences in the show and the book just like in GOT. Anyways I’m sure the retelling of the incident came from the stories of Helaena herself so it’s not completely unreliable.

Good reaction. No one questioned the killers because one of them works there as the rat catcher. He is literally part of the Red Keep's staff. The dog is part of the cover, as IRL dogs, especially terriers, were/ are used in this role. I'm pretty sure your pup Lemon would be great at it!

The reason why they weren't stopped is because Cheese had been working as a Rat Catcher in the Red Keep for years. He knew the various secret passages in the castle better than anybody else, so he was able to both get them into the castle and get them to the Royal Apartments using them. There were several reasons why it was so quiet and empty: It was the middle of the night, Cheese had already bypassed most of the guards using the secret passages, Larys had killed some of the servants when rooting out spies, the Kings Guard was only at half capacity (3 of them are with the blacks, 1 in the cells) and Cole was with Alicent.

Daemon disobeyed rhaenyra and ordered thecdeath of a child, ehen cheese asked "what uf we can't find him?" Daemon smirked, that's where he told them "a son for a son", jaehaerys was the plan B. By this act, Rhaenyra clsim was weakened and Aegon Now will declare war and will seek vengeance , Hell will let lose.

I actually love that Aegon isn't just "Joffrey again" but genuinely wants to be seen as a cool guy whom people like Poor guy just wants to feel loved (and this likely explains his earlier stints with housemaids and not knowing about consent...) In other words, Alicent and Viserys were not good parents

Not to mention the punishment for a Kingsguard breaking the vows of chastity is castration and death. If word would got out that he slept with the princess that would be a certain death too. And if he refused the princess' advances he had every reason to expect a similar punishent. We all watched GoT, we all know what happens when you get on the wrong side of a Westerosi noble, and that goes double for Targaryens. Cole was litteraly placed in an impossible situation, where every choice ends badly for him. Because of Rhaenyra's whims, for which she risked no consequences, he risked life and his dick getting chopped in an increadibly painful way and the threat grew larger the longer their affair lasted.

If you watch this episode again, you can see in the background the rat catchers in a lot of scenes, going on doing their things while, example, when the council was going on. They pretty much have a free pass everywhere, without anyone asking questions. That's why they had to look like rat catchers, by having the dogs and setting traps.

Daemon: Ruthlessly stomps on anyone who gets in his brother's way. Kills anyone who causes any sort of problem to his brother's rule. Hears his brother's words, and supports his niece's rule, and does exactly what she wants. His niece wants to rule. Daemon stomps anyone that opposes her. "I want Aemond Targareyan!" Daemon gives her the blood of those closest to Aemond. "OMG, Daemon just wants to take over and sideline the women!" I knew Daemon never wanted to rule from episode one. He just wants to be the guy who neutralizes any threat to his family. For those halfwits getting angry, "Family" refers to all relatives. Not just the ones you make.

He warned Corlys in season one about talking bad about Viserys. Vaemond decided to yap and and Daemon cut his head off. Daemon went and sang to Vermithor, largely regarded as the most savage dragon to ever exist, just to get him accustomed to humans again and maybe accept a new rider. The man was trying to get Rhaenys and Meleys to go with him to kill Vhagar, the largest and oldest living dragon in the world. Rhaenyra wants blood for her son, Daemon asks her if she wants enough to bathe in.

Daemon sure knows how to pick them. What bloody amateurs. They just let Helaena run off while they commit their horrific crime. They only succeeded at their task through dumb luck. They just stumbled across Haleana, and had Cole not been blowing out Alicent's back, he would have been on duty watching Haleana and the children. And their other stroke of luck is that Haelaena is different and doesn't really behave like a normal person would. A normal person would have screamed out as soon as she got away from Blood and Cheese, and the guards would have stopped them before they escaped from the castle. Also, had they actually found Aemond, he would have made quick work of them. He's the best swordsman King's Landing. Not Daemon's best moment.

A very good episode was a bit disappointed with the blood and cheese stuff mainly because of the showrunners and actors hyping it up to be the next red wedding moment but I understand why they tone it down and change some things the main annoying scene for me was Helena going to alicent and seeing her and criston Cole banging which felt a bit out of place I would have changed it a bit to had criston Cole outside of alicent room guarding the door and as Helena see him he says "are you okay your grace" and he see the distress look in her eyes and go and check in her bedchamber and then have Helena go to alicent and hug her saying the boy is killed and end the episode with alicent shocked reaction without saying a word like how the episode ends. Really enjoyed the scene of rhaenyra finding luke clock despite the dismount from her dragon looks a bit rough in terms of cgi and the later scene of her at the war council and saying I want aemond and filmed very similarly to the end of season 1 and another later scene of jace given the report and breaking down into tears. 😔

Wrongs must be redressed, no matter the cost. Luke was never punished for taking Aemond's eye. If he must be killed, so be it. That is justice. Injustice cannot be allowed to exist, and anyone who stands in the way of justice must be likewise punished. Also, they didn't steal Rhaenyra's throne. Aegon is the rightful heir. As the firstborn son, his claim overrules Rhaenyra's the moment he is born. If Viserys still wanted Rhaenyra as heir, he would need to officially reaffirm her by royal decree and have all the lords reaffirm their oaths. He never did this, so legally, Aegon is heir. Even if that weren't the case, Rhaenyra forfeited her claim by pretending her bastards were legitimate. Trying to place an illegitimate child into the line of succession is high treason, and the punishment for treason is death or exile and the relinquishment of your lands and titles. Viserys let her get away with it, but it's still law.

This was the most disgusting thing in the entire show.

Alicent is the same hypocrite as Crispy.

In defense of Criston by the way, which admittedly is often hard to do lol, but Rhaenyra was his princess and he was bound by oath to do as she commanded… thus meaning she kind of r***** him… which also means he was liable to being gelded and tortured due to breaking his oath of chasity and especially with the heir… so I can see why he hates her so much. I wish the show in season 1 would’ve explained that better instead of just making him out to be a jealous ex, to be honest, because that’s what is so great about the book is that it is so genuinely hard to pick a side. Like I’m Team Green for the most part in the book, but Team Black in the show. People really aren’t understanding this I see lol Rhaenyra is the best character in the show, but I can acknowledge that she used her position of power to get what she wanted. If that was a male who did that, everyone would be up-in-arms and disgusted (example: almost any male character in the show who likes to fuck, and Harvey Weinstein).
