I'm a undertaker and recently heard a story of someone burning a woman with a ring like that. The whole funeral was under tight security so that noone could steal it. Thing is in my country you rent a grave, so maybe in a couple of years someone will make a lucky find.

The only case I've ever been able to find of a coyote attacking a human and not a coydog hybrid (now THEY'RE nasty; all the sneakiness and opportunism of a coyote, and the domestic canine's lack of fear of humans), it was a female 'yote who went after a 3-4 yr-old girl. Grabbed her by the shoulder and tried to drag her off, but dropped the kid (who was surprisingly ok; a few scratches and bruises) when a man heard the screams and came up running. There was a drought in the area; she was desperate for food and had a litter of starving pups in a den waiting for her. At the time, he had no idea they were asking about Kelly, nor would he have reason to suspect they were (heck, even they didn't know whom the body was). As far as Hagen knew, Kelly had died on 9/11, and her ring was packed up with her belongings.

I worked near where this was filmed in the early 2000s. You'll notice that they walk into the Grace Building, which is across the street from Bryant Park, just after passing that shirtless guy. I'm not sure what his story was, but he was often around the corner of 43rd St and 6th Ave with all those old computers stacked up, apparently salvaging some of them for resale. One of my coworkers talked to him sometimes and thought he was the real deal, but others thought he was a homeless guy wanting to appear to be at work. I'd forgotten about him until I saw this clip.

Investing ins Jewelry is a very old-school yet reliable investment, especially for women. Some people traditionally gift ugly/gaudy jewelry for wedding gifts because the bride doesn't have to wear it but can keep it and it's small enough that she can take it with her if something goes down. Good for trading safe passage, food, lodgings, equipments/cothes, and easy to transport. good if either the wife or the family as a whole is in a dangerous place or situation.
