Hey, thanks for the kind words Nyroc, I really appreciate it! I enjoyed putting this together and your right, it does at times, feel like work. This is the first trip I've taken in the time span of 10 years where I actually took video and tried to put something together to tell the tale. I look forward to doing more in the future and I already know of some mistakes that will be addressed when I do. To answer your question on Jungo Road, we missed you by 2 days, 21 hours and 1 minute. Our picture was taken on 6/19/14 @10:45AM. So close, yet so far away!

Thanks man! The trailer was made at a friends shop to carry the extra gear I had to take along with me. I figured with it loaded, it was around 450 lbs. The Can am got around 18 mpg pulling it. Hope that helps!

@@atvtrailscouts4765 You motivated me to build an ATV trailer to camp with. This summer I'm planning a trip from the top Utah border (Beaver Mountain) to the bottom Utah border at Kanab. In large because of your adventure.

Another excellent video! I do prefer the videos of Idaho and it’s mountains and vegetation to the drier climate of Utah and Nevada. The historical sites were very cool though. There is no way that that Belmont Courthouse isn’t haunted!

I just saw your video. I used to work for the Lander County and Eureka County Sheriff, "back in the day" as the younger folks say now. From 1986 through 1998. I recognized that entire area from central Nevada. I miss the desert, especially the Austin, Grass Valley area, Monitor Valley areas. I now live in west central Idaho and do OHV stuff here. I was also a deputy brand inspector and got to experience the cattle drives every year I did that. Nicely done video.

We will be starting in Wallace and hitting Avery, Clarkia, Elk River, Pierce, Lowell, Elk City, Burgdorf, Yellow Pine, Stanley, Challis, Mackay, Bellevue, Bliss, and then on in to Nevada and then Utah. Are you close to any of those?

I came across your video by chance and I got to say it was so enjoyable that I had to subscribe. I love the desert a lot, but I love the mountains so much too, but I love the vastness of the desert. You never know what you are going to run into out there. I live in West Texas and it can be so hot but it can be so cold. Keep up the great work. Life is short so get out there and enjoy. Thanks.

Nice video mate, very well presented. Unfortunately we don't have vast empty areas or any deserts here in the UK, but we do have some nice scenic routes in the Northern hills and mountains, hopefully I will get to post some of those when I get a chance. I have subscribed so keep the videos coming.

Excellent video! Nicely edited! Coming across the cattle drive with all the riders and wagon train must have been super cool! Wild horses, antelope, lizards . . . WOW, lots of wild life in such a desolate (but very beautiful) looking place! All the cool old cabins and structures you came across must have been amazing to see in real life. Very cool stuff! The cattle scene around 15 min mark was funny. I've been in that same predicament. They just refuse to leave the trail - LOL What were the dome structures 25:45 to 25:55? Coal furnaces? Beautiful scenery! Looks like you guys had an AMAZING adventure! Thanx for sharin' it with us!

Thank you Quaddingsous, I have been enjoying your videos as well! The wagon train was definitely one of the many highlights of the trip. It was pretty cool to get a glimpse of what that type of life would've looked like since we were going to be on the Emigrant Trail the following day. They had traveled from northern California on this annual cattle drive and it was just by dumb luck that we were fortunate enough to catch them before they made their destination. Until then, I had no idea this event even existed. It was here or Alaska and this was much easier on my wallet. My wife and I were very surprised at the abundance of wildlife out there. It is truly a beautiful place and we never saw a soul unless we went into a town looking for them. The dome structures were charcoal kilns. If I can finish it, I will put up another video and fix some of the things I didn't like about this one. Happy Trails!

This was an incredible video. You have definitely got me wanting to do something similar. I have 2 Polaris EP 550s that would love to do this. Yes, they would, and they would let us go along. I lived in Nevada for 25 years, and I have been to several of the places where you were. Do you have a route all planned, or do you make it up as you go. Maybe just have a general destination for the day. I am going to build a bit larger trailer to sleep in, but I like yours also. I can't imagine why there are any thumbs down. I subscribed, and I don't do that much. Nice job with the video/pictures/map/music. You did a great job.

Rat Builder Thanks Rat Builder for the great reply! My wife and I had alot of fun both filming and making this video. I have a predetermined route before I go out there and try to make certain destinations everyday. That being said, even with the best planning, the route isn't always without problems. On this trip, I ended up rerouting 7 different times due to locked gates or property that was posted or a section of trail too steep to pull the trailer up. Luckily of the times we had to find another route, we never had to go too far out of the way.

Wow! That is really nice. All of it from the rig, to the ride, and the video.

Thank you Ken! I will definitely be back out that way again in the future. It is a beautiful state and a great place to be able to take a week long adventure or longer. I have maps that were done with the Nat Geo Topo software. If you can use that format, I would be happy to send them to you.

What a great video! It’s been less than a year since we purchased our first atvs. We have a 2007 800 max and a 2021 650 max, both Can Ams. I haven’t been able to ride as much as I would like to but I sure want to do some longs camping trips. The first camping trip I want to do is about 150 miles round trip through southern New Mexico desert. My main concern is with refueling. How many miles per gallon where you getting with 2 passengers and the trailer?

Haha, as a matter of fact, I did. The others that were supposed to go bailed on us for one reason or another. We got tired of waiting so we went without them. We took a satellite phone and good boots and a backpack just in case we had to do some walking. My cousin did not leave Reno until the last day of our trip with the truck just in case she needed to come and pick us up somewhere along the route due to a breakdown. Luckily the machine performed flawlessly and we didn't so much as even get a flat tire. It was a great trip all the way around. I almost hated to try another one for fear my luck would run out but we successfully logged another 1070 miles across Idaho this past July and the machine did great yet again.

Great video! I've wandered around in Nevada quite a bit. It's more desolate and "lonely" than Utah, but I like that sometimes. Question: How did the Outtie hold up during your trek? And since your trek?

Thank you utah wanderlust700! When you work with the public, lonely and desolate really looks attractive at times.😁 The Outtie is holding up beautifully. It's a 2013 650. Since this video, I have gone to Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and TN, all multiple times. It's got right around 10,000 miles on it now and other than normal wear and tear (brakes, bushings, bearings) the only thing I have done is replace the fuel pump and a brake line. Approx 4000 of those miles was done pulling a trailer. I hope to post a video from our most recent Idaho trip within the next couple of weeks.

ATV Trail Scouts Sounds like it's been a pretty good machine. I am thinking about buying a Can Am 570 as a second machine for better gas mileage on longer rides, but am still gathering opinions on Can Am ownership costs. My Kawie has nearly 20,000 miles on it now, and other than replacing intake valves every 6000 miles, it has been very cheap and reliable to keep going. But it has a fairly small gas tank, and mpg averages around 16 mpg. The Rotax 570 is reported to get 22 to 25 mpg. That would sure be nice! Btw, if you like riding vids, I have quite a few of Utah trails on my channel. Check it out if you want.

@@utahwanderlust700 Don't want to intrude into your conversation too much, but I ride a 2011 Canam 800XT Max. Got about 12, 000 miles on it, I wouldn't hesitate to go on a long trip anytime. Like the man says, just normal good maintenance. Like all machine that is valuable.

Jordan Funk I like my 2up Can Am and we stayed comfortable for the entire length of the trip. I also like side by sides but prefer the openness of the atv.

I transferred the trails from GPS software to the GPS before leaving on the trip. The GPS kept me on route the whole time, even though some of the routes have not been traveled in a long time.

Thanks TheRobAGE! The whole route was preplanned so I knew where my fuel stops were going to be. All I had to do is figure fuel mileage with trailer and plan accordingly. I add an additional 10-15% to account for anything unexpected such as closures and or detours. I did cut it a bit close on the Rachael stop as I was on fumes when I got there.

I had a friend of mine build it for me just for this trip. I needed a place to carry all of the extra gear I wanted to take and the rear box on the atv just wasn't going to cut it.

On the Nevada trip we left our vehicle at a cousins house and they drove it down on the last day of our trip. In Utah we left it at a motel and came back to it. In the next video I post, which will be in Idaho, we also left it for 4 days at a motel where the owner kept an eye on it for me and then our driver came and picked it up and drove it to our destination.

I just traded in my ktm for a 2021 honda rancher 420 and love the video!!! Also i LOVED the trailer! Did you build that? Cant find anywhere online! Thank you so much.

Hey Steve, I just think of a route that I would like to do and then sit down and research to see if its possible or not. Depending on where we go, it could take quite a bit of time to research and map. As far as finding people to do trips like this with, I am not sure. I just take friends with me that I know like to ride.

I’m debating on trading in my 16 grizzly for a outlander max 1000. I go 100 mile trips around Missouri. Is it easier to cruise at 50 on the outlander?

The longer wheelbase on the "Max" definitely helps with stability in the rough and on high speed straight of ways. I had a Hinda Rincon before this but never traveled very fast or pulled a trailer. The only times I hit higher speeds out there was long flat hard surfaces so it did fine.

With an exception of Belmont and Logandale, we crossed at 90 degrees with no issues, even seeing a deputy at one of the crossings. Was it "legal" to cross...I am not sure but we never got a second look. In Belmont, we we traveled the last mile before it turned to dirt with no issues and Logandale actually had ATV only lanes on the road.
