As a farmer, I'm sure you say "if it isn't one thing, it's three!" You mentioned a "contortionist cow". In my younger days I helped a neighbor milk cows. One day bringing the cows up from the pasture one stopped and swung its head around to the side and lifted its hind leg on that side and ever so gently scratch next to its eye with its toe nail (hoof). We have a Deutz Fahr 5110G, great tractor but the emissions crap can be a pain. We typically use 15/40 engine oil on all of our tractors but have to put a lighter oil in the Deutz over winter because we were told a failed turbo charger was caused by using too heavy of an oil in the cold weather here in New Brunswick, Canada.

Hi Taylor and Brent, great video showing the real struggles many small dairy farmers face each day from receiving low market milk income that is not keeping up with expenses and inflation; then having to deal with the game of what will break unexpectedly today? Although, when you look at how old the barn equipment is and how much work it endures over the many years; despite the break downs do to age with wear and tear; still lot better shape and gets the job done when you compared it to many cars and pickups being 20 to 30 years old and no longer running. It’s definitely always something. We get most of our weather out of the west, but once in a while, you get a winter storm that comes out of the east. In the milk house everything is on the east wall so everything freezes up. It makes for a long, stressful morning. I think it’s very neat that you guys don’t have to haul manure every day having a tiestall barn. Here in Ohio most everybody with tie stalls has to haul every day.

One of my cow gave birth about 20-30 days later then the average time, one of her quarter was sever mastitis ,it was rock solid and hardly any milk comin out of it. anyways after 1-2 weeks antiboitic treatment and lots of massaging with also hand milking i managed to empty the tit. then the other day i saw the very same tits bleeding with wound on the tip. the vet said she might have stepped on it... what are the odds she stepping on the very same tits a day later? so i have been cleaning, bandaging and everything to like last one and a half months, the wound on the tip pretty much healed but i can feel the inside of the tit is different from others its kinda meaty swelling there and the tip of it is getting closed from morning to evening and evening to morning. so every milking i have to give a hard hand milking with vaseline to open the canal . it has been tiring process and i donnow if the tit can survive, kinda loosing my hope...
@tayfarms

I know Tay farming is very hard at times but life has to go on u know I love you guys and keep up the good work love you guys 💓 and take care
Good morning Taylor farms the rewards are worthwhile:improved animal health and reproductive performance,have a great day Taylor.
I beg to differ, coffee is essential! Hence why Brent is so often out getting coffee.
That skidsteer sure saves a lot of shovelling what have you on today Taylor 🤗
May I ask where you are from and it is good to see people with a strong work ethic, when you get lucky enough to have a team spirit like you'll do kudos to you 💯🙏
Good morning 🎉🎉❤

We don't completely understand the freezing issues down here in Tennessee. I know it must add another dimension of trouble.
I won’t want my fingers between the door and the loader. I like Bag Balm for your cows udder it really heals. I use it on myself. I don’t know if you have a screw in light socket in your gutter room. I use one of those paddle bulbs and it will light it up like daylight.
Well Good Morning Taylor

Should look into bolvicalc pills. It's calcium and other minerals that give cows after freshening helps to prevent milk fever. It's really nice for jerseys as seem more likely to have low calcium.

We used to use those religiously, but we never really had luck with them
I’m far from a OCD person, but think first thing I would do is put electric tape over the red idiot light always on in dump truck. No idea why , but can’t stop staring at it when you film in cab 😂🤣😂. Bob in Pennsylvania

The steering wheel clocked 90 degrees out, the constant rattling, the missing drivers door card, the headliner and the cracked side view mirror are all supposed to distract you from that light. Focus on those, it will help.

TAY, DON'T FORGET TO PUT IN YOUR EARPLUGS YOUNG LADY! WHEN YOU & BRENT TRYING TO GET PUMPS & NOISY MOTORS RUNNING THAT'S NOT GOOD FOR ONE'S EARDRUMS!
I've been down that road to with step on tet it's a pain
I love the small windshield whipers on the truck.😂 Better with snow anyway!
We Dairy Farmers all have had things go wrong , but seems they all come at once ! Winter just makes it worse ! Remember tomorrow will look better ! It's just a bump in the Road .

speaking of farmers sayings. Do you ever say "it's raining like a cow passing on a flat rock". Maybe come spring. Here Indonesia it's Monsoon season.

Is that a Garelick Farms milk crate your empty out on your milk cart? I used to deliver for them to stores from 86 to 04.Its hard work delivery of milk to store for 18 years with 2 and 3 am start times and many 15 hr days sometimes.
Someday can you explain how that pump works.it must be hard to pump it that far into the pit.what pump is it ?thks from Ontario
I know I'm late to the party, but I did not see a GTractorMe set up.

Do you have a stereo system in the barn, like a radio?When I worked at the dairy farm the farmer said he played soft music right before they milked to get them in the moood🤣🤣🤣🌌⭐

Thank you for watching! It can actually get too warm and humid in a barn without proper ventilation and that can cause cattle to contract pneumonia

Hey Taylor Do you have Deutz Dealer in your area? What about a nice Fendt ? Greetings from Germany
would a paint stirrer with a 1/2 inch drill work down in that hole ? obviously you would have to weld an extension on it.
hope the cow with the rang quarter getting better if you can hookup any airpipe,s to your manure system to blow out the pipe
Do you go camping with your brothers and sisters and your mom and dad when you go camping?

Boy take a breath....
@tayfarms

That’s always really discouraging especially when you have worked SO hard to make her better! Have your tried a teat dialator to keep the canal open? Those are a lifesaver when it comes to the scabs and just teats closing up in general. We use the doctor naylor brand they work fantastic
