Just a general update. Our farm life this winter is basically 3 tasks over and over: doing basic chores twice per day, bedding the cattle once a week or so, and cleaning the pig pens. I will have very little to cover regarding the pigs until probably May, when we know whether they are pregnant or not. Billy is going in with Brownie this week. We have seen nothing between Billy and Bossy in terms of breeding. Frankly, I am looking forward to saying goodbye to the pigs after this spring's litters (if there are any). They have been a frustrating headache over the past few years, and I would have parted with them last fall if not for viewers' wishes to keep them. From then on, we will be buying 4 feeder piglets every spring to raise outside, and converting the pig barn into a new brooder house for broiler chicks. So pig content on the channel will not end entirely. Finally, I have been racking my brain trying to come up with farm content, but there's just nothing going on right now aside from me making videos of those 3 things I listed, which was what the last 3 farm videos consisted of. I used to make topical winter videos about small farm life, but I have no ideas there, and I seem to get more and more pushback about expressing opinions and talking too much on camera. I guess that's a function of the state of things in general. Maybe I just need to recharge my batteries regarding animal content to come back strong with it in the spring. I look forward to manure spreading season in 6 weeks or so, bringing the cattle back out to pasture, and getting into fieldwork with the equipment. Videos with action going on are fun to make and more interesting to watch, at least in my opinion. If you have any interesting farm topics you would like me to cover, I would love to hear them!

While it is nice you consider viewers comments, you will never please the masses. Do what you want to do and the viewers will come along with you. The ones that disagree will move on to pester other content creators. Have a good day Pete and don't stress the youtube stuff.

I like all your videos tractors, pigs, cows, chickens repeat. It’s nice listening as you explain how and why. Why I don’t know it’s just very interesting hearing and watching about a TA and tightening down bolts on or near the flywheel. I have a much better appreciation of what mechanics do after watching you work and seeing all the steps. It would be nice to see the animals even if briefly but it’s your call. Enjoy it all. One last thing… I enjoy your philosophical spots as well. They give me ideas to reflect on. I have never been even the slightest bit offended. Keep up the awesome job!

I enjoy any video you and Hillary put out. For some reason the tractor rebuild ones are both relaxing and entertaining. When I was a kid my grandpa’s machine shed had a distinct grease smell from his Farmall tractors. That smell comes back to me sometimes when you’re doing tractor work. Thanks Pete.

For those who complain about the "talking" videos, they can gladly go watch something else. There's plenty of faux homestead channels featuring rich people cosplaying as farmers. For me personally, I came across your channel, looking for advice about the reality of financing a homestead. Pete had a couple of videos where he went over the stark reality of what it takes to keep a farm going. Those first couple of videos suckered me in, as I was very impressed with how he crunched the numbers. From there, I got really interested in his cattle videos, and now, I'm subscribed and enjoy all his content. Pete is honest, straight to the point, and very enjoyable to listen to. I might go as far as to say, the "Bob Ross" of hobby farming.

Pete any video from you is always much appreciated, you a living a life that probably many of us just dreamed of , I for one will watch every video you choose to share with us , Take Care my Friend!

I love watching you do these restorations even though it is something I will never do. I love the methodical work it takes to do this right. I am sure I learn something from each video that may come in handy one day. Another great video Pete, every time I watch you in the shop working on projects like this I reminisce about similar tasks I did back in the day. This one brought back a memory of putting new clutch in a 1951 Pontiac a friend had we were on our backs under it in the middle of Dec of 1959. fingers numb, etc. so I always think ?wow" wouldn't it have been nice If I/we had a nice warm garage to work in back then. thanks for the memories Pete. love them. can't wait for more. Ok on the pigs I can relate to them also raised a few myself for myself and can relate to what goes on there. One of the best things about you Pete is, fessing up to your mistakes and thanking your viewers for the comments. I have no interest in rebuilding an old tractor or even owning one but I enjoy watching. There’s other content creators I’ve watched in the past that I’ve made comments about mistakes they made and they made it out as if they figured it out but they’re too dumb in the first place. Yes , Pete, by far your most complex and tegious tractor work yet. this tractor is geting into the high tech area that requires so much more care with fetail and a good deal chance for error { the shaft oil slinger for instance ) . You are doing a fine job as usual and we appreciate the trip.

Pete, I had an Uncle in Maine that ran a dairy farm with an average of 100 head. So I know dairy farming fairly well and I miss working on it with him. You bring back some of those memories for me. Thank you sir. I do enjoy all that you have shared with us, especially the rebuilding of tractors. I believe you did say that you were planning on building a new shed? If so, that is one topic I would also enjoy watching. Also, I like your ideas with cooking on the grill. the LONG slow cooking of the brisket where you did a circle of charcoals and hickory wood... I never thought of doing that. Thanks again. I had to bust out laughing when that snap ring popped off into neverland... because it happens to all mechanics at least once. Thanks for the laugh.

That was one interesting way to install the clutch assembly. I had no idea you could do that. Once the 856 is finished she should be as good as new. Looking forward to the part of the MCV assembly and front bolster repair.
