the note “Olaf knows” means that Olaf knows Beatrice threw the poison dart to Olaf’s father,not lemony,therefore Olaf tried to seek revenge on Beatrice and tried throwing her off a cliff,but those wings on beatrice’s dress actually worked, I think Beatrice handed the wings over to kit because in slipper slope part 1 you can see kit falling off the cliff and using the dragonfly wings

Because it was R’s party where they wore masks and Lemony tried to find Beatrice (dressed as a butterfly) on a balcony before Olaf and his associates arrived. So this is definitely that occasion. Omg when I saw Monty I freaked out! I missed him.... and then I saw Josephine..... THATS WHEN SHE WAS FIERCE AND FORMIDABLE!!!! :( but they died...... and then Jaques Snicket..... and Beatrice in that beautiful costume! Omgggggggh can't wait till season 3!

This is SUCH AN INCREDIBLE sequence and it’s amazing to see more things referenced in the books come to life in the show.

As someone who loved and read the books growing up, this is amazing. The small references, Beatrice's appearance, I'm shook.

This scene is so important in the show and necessary to know when people come up with theories yet it’s totally forgotten about.

This was actually a reference to the fifth book. Lemony (the writer) mentioned dressing up as bullfighter for one of the Duchess of Winnipeg’s masked balls and he was being pursued by enemies. He ran over to Beatrice and shouted “Beatrice, Count Olaf is…!” In the book, he broke off the story, because he said it made him cry thinking about it.

I noticed one thing profound about Larry Your Waiter, was that you can tell in this scene, you barely recognize him because he is super formal and brave. The first time we met him was in The Wide Window as the Anxious Clown Restaurant Waiter. You could see how he stuck up for the Baudelaires against Count Olaf, but as soon as he accidentally spoiled where they were, his attitude changed and he became skittish.

I was nearly in tears when it showed Monty, Gustav, and Jacques 😭

Lemony: I feel an uneasy sense of creeping dread. Jacques: Of course you do. Lmao I loved their brotherhood even if we only got to see a glimpse of it

I read all the books up to The Carnivorous Carnival in preparation for this next season, and I still have so many questions, it's ridiculous! I'm still wondering what V.F.D.'s deal is, I'm also wondering why Esme wants a sugar bowl, if the Baudelaires and Quagmires will ever meet again, and who the flip is Beatrice??! I’m like “just go up to Lemony and whisper what you wrote to him.” But then again this unnecessary and quite irresponsible form of secrecy is exactly how the VFD would do it. So good job. 😂

Little Easter egg: while talking to Jacques, lemoney mentions chewing gum and dessert forks. chewing gum obviously being the VFD building by lucky smells lumbermill and the gum served there.
