A Routine Flight Turns into Every Pilot's Nightmare (With Real Video & Audio)
Ойындар
An A320 operating as JetBlue Flight 292 takes off from Burbank, California, for a flight to John F. Kennedy Airport, New York. However, immediately after takeoff, the nose gear of an jams in an abnormal position. DHL Aero Expreso flight 7216 was a cargo service between Costa Rica and Guatemala. While performing this flight, the Boeing 757 lost its hydraulics, and during an emergency landing, it crashed immediately after touchdown. The aircraft operating as KLM Cityhopper Flight 433 crashed during an emergency landing in a field just outside Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. An Iberia Airbus A340-600 operating flight 6463 crashed after overrunning the runway in an attempt to land in Quito, Ecuador. Finally, a Boeing 747 operating as Ansett Australia Airlines Flight 881 is on final approach to Sydney Airport when the flight crew deploys the landing gear. However, the nose gear fails to extend. Believing the gear to be down, the crew elects to complete the landing. Find out what happed to these flights.

The KLM Cityhopper one really grinds my gears every single time. Major, massive negligence on the part of that flight crew.

I was a passenger of the Iberia flight to Quito, I was returning from a vacation trip from Spain, after touchdown we heard an explosion from the tires I guess and huge noise from the impact into the runway. We truly thought we were going to die that day because the plane never stopped and previous plane accidents in that airport happened the same way and they couldn’t make it. Everyone was safe after all

I dont think the Jet Blue pilots failed - it was the landing gear that failed. The pilots did an amazing job to land the plane intact by keeping the nose up as long as they could.
@sammylacks4937

I remember that well because I walked in from work as the NEWS media were awaiting flight live while they circled burning fuel. This made jet lighter and less hazardous if the worse happened. I remember seeing the nose gear sideways , thinking they should be capible of safely landing if front gear didn't collapse striking runway. Whoever piloted that plane in sure knew how to ride the main gear and he/ she feathered that front wheel down so it only after a ways smoked from heat but no fire or collapse. Give that pilot a blue ribbon. Like a fighter pilot said once any landing you walk away from is a good landing. Any landing you can take back off again is a great landing Those pilots didn't fail they saved the day making a great landing after fresh tires. Don't hold that against them. .
Nice work on the compilation TheFlightChannel!
Never been here this early. Good job, like the compilation!
The pilots of that Saab were aggressively incompetent.

I think the pilots of the first case and last case did an excellent job landing. The other pilots seemed to be badly trained or just making really bad decisions. RIP to the 3 who died. Thank you for another great presentation.
Not sure if the word "worst" should be in the title. I'm sure there have been far worse fails than these 5. Maybe it should say, "5 Plane Landing Fails" and leave the word "worst" out. Other than that, great video as usual!

Good summary of the 5 incidents. However, I notice that TheFlightChannel no longer has the majestic music playing-it added such a nice touch. TheFlightChannel is becoming like some of the other channels re air travel incidents. I think something has changed-and it is not a feather in the cap.
It’s a good sign when the 5 worst landings only one of them was fatal
I recall watching the Jetblue landing live. They made such a big deal of it, and it took them an hour or so to get ready for the landing, that it was on live TV.

I imagine the cost analysis for such a component and all the other gear, services and training required to integrate it into the other systems on the aircraft and maintain it wouldn't be economical compared to the potential cost of an hypothetical accident in X number of working hours where it may have made a vital difference.

Not just that - even the passengers know first if something's visibly wrong with the engine before the pilots do...
The CItyHopper pilot-flying (the captain) had failed two engine-out checks, and on his most recent one had been given a "standard minus," the lowest passing grade. The captain's death was attributed to his not wearing his shoulder restraints. A truly incompetent pilot, who should never have been flying passengers. At least after this flight he was no longer able to endanger passengers.

I always feel excited when a new video comes out for The Flight Channel, in hopes everyone survives their tragic ordeal. I've learned a lot about pilots and what they need to know and do at a moment's notice. For the past 20 years, I've flown on JetBlue and won't use any other airlines since I took the first flight.
You should include TAM 3054.
How does poster show landing gear at sideways in the animation?
That 757 was a disaster, but a great video catch
None of these would have happened on my watch.
What happened to the other channel?
The guy videoing the DHL drives me crazy, right at the moment he moves the camera off the plane.
No way! Nice, Rip deaths😢
The title I clicked on was "A Routine Flight Turns into Every Pilot's Nightmare" but then the video has a title card saying "5 worst landing fails." That's incredibly clickbait-y. And these aren't even all fails, and definitely not the 5 worst. C'mon now
LOL *steering, not "scaring"
All the spectrum from 'pilots should be paid well because they save lives in times of crisis' to 'they saved lives... from their own fumble.'
Whoever gave the Saab pilots twin engine ratings needs theirs revoked permanently
When Ansett was an airline in Australia especially regional I flew in the Saabs god they were a great plane
And this is just another reason why i hate flying.
That Saab pilot had no business being in a cockpit
I feel bad for the Saab and the 3 people who passed on the KLM crashed.. the pilot were so incompetent it makes me so mad
What do you use to make these videos?
With all due respect to those folks who perished; a good landing is one where the passengers/crew walk away
Ansett Australia has a nice livery
Captain on the DHL 757 crashed be like: “another happy landing” 😂 ✈️ 💥
JetBlue pilots are doing job very well.
SAD😢
This video wasn't of the same high quality of other videos. Not enough info is given about these crashes, sometimes not even the fight number. What little info is given in the video is direct copy/paste from wikipedia (as is the case with other videos, but at least in other videos you give us most of the important info). This video was rushed, as evidence by the numerous typos as well.
what’s the music in the intro of the video
The Ansett is a 747 300 not 400
Damn Hard Landing
I remember the Ansett jumbo landing. It was prety big on the news here. Ansett was a decent airline, but got bought out by Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand then hollowed out the company of money and assets and then let it fail and shut the whole thing down.

So no wonder why the flight controlling is "not reliable". btw I just compare it to the A340 hard landing incident that no matter how you stabilise the plane for landing, it would crash itself to the ground without any reason. tl;dr buggy plane.
Only the failure of the pilots at Schiphol was completely incompetent. Hopefully, they never flew again.

What mod is the A340-600 ?
I'm everything except an expert in this field but it seems a lot of the trouble is sloppy ground maintenance.

Failures... No "Fails"... "Fails" is a verb - not a noun...
Jetblue 292 isnt a fail lol.....thats under: "Dangerous Landing Saves" in the library, right beside Sully Landing Fails are the 2 Fed Ex MD-11s that bounced, broke the plane, flipped and burned down to the keel....
Aliens crashed the plane, they hit the back with a ufo. You can see it at the beginning. In 2005 these guys were quite naughty. These attacks against the planes were part of a conversation with creatures, that is how they communicate. Some of these guys couldn’t understand this language at all, and therefore, they lost control. Now the same thing happens, but with gunfire, laser weapons and drones.
Seems like the only fail was the third and fourth one. The others weren't the fault of the pilots and they seemed to have done it right considering the circumstances.
Why the barking dogs?? 🤔
