A Review/ Walk-thru of: Rank Amateurs. A Dungeon magazine D&D BECMI adventure for Humanoids Lvl 1-3
Found in Dungeon Magazine #22 was an interesting little adventure called Rank Amateurs, made by its author as a sort of kick off for beginning a Humanoid adventure using Orc of Thar.
The entire adventure is light hearted, and made to be humorous, though it is also still dangerous.

Now that sounds funny. Orcs of Thar is a hilarious book.
I enjoyed the Orcs of Thar gazetteer and I'm glad this module keeps the same tone. However, I think many groups will attempt to struck a true alliance with the town once they discover the chief's true intentions, or perhaps take revenge on him with his new giant friend. There are many ways on how this adventure could launch a big-scale campaign or a more simple wilderness-and-raid adventure type. Anyway, good job and thanks for choosing one of the less known modules this time. P.S. Halfings on Mystara (also called the Hin) are pretty badass, if they party kills the merchants its clan could become a regular enemy for your campaign. Have fun with that.

Thanks for the suggestions I might use some of them. This sounds like a fun surprise adventure to run with a group as a one shot that could expand into a longer campaign.

Now, I didn't give away everything in the module, but suffice to say, the adventure covers those angles. :)

I actually have another one that's up too! It's falcons peak. Some of the dungeons magazine one are just difficult though
I have this magazine, I recall trying to play it but the players didn't like the name puns - we did kinda roll it into a Humanoids game for a little while.

It is a pretty goofy adventure, but to be fair. The Gazetteer was also goofy. It's too bad they never really did much more with published adventures
