    If I didn't already have the Sigma 30mm, I'd have seriously considered this lens. But, I am a hobby photographer, so live with less than spectacular lenses mostly, budget constraints, nothing else! Brilliant video, as usual, Arthur - a great selection of content to enjoy, the brilliant red van really popped!

    @@deniellesam For being a 30mm and not 35mm lens, the Sigma is more flexible IMO. I have also the Sony 35mm and I really stoped using it. The colors on Sigma are beautiful, seems to have a little warmer tone. Also, the 1.4 aperture will make your work easier in case you’re shooting in low light situations.

    Nice thing about using the E mount is that I can use the Sony and Third Party lenses with two different adapters for the Nikon Z. Save money all the way around by buying one lens and use it on two different Camera systems. TTArtisans USB C firmware Update may correct certain problems in the future. At least they are giving firmware updates, now if Sony would do the same. Cheers!

    @@buuuuuuuuuuuuuu The newer versions of the adapters are faster in autofocusing. Nothing will be the original lens of the camera manufacturer but there are some third party lenses that are cheaper and perform better at f/1.4 to .095 aperture. Like I wrote previously it is another option to save money if you have the sony lenses already and do not have to pay more money for the same equivalent features. Example the APSC lenses from Sigma 16mm, 23mm, 30mm and 56mm f/1.4 are now made for Nikon. It is your decision to either buy the new lenses for the Z mount or just buy an adapter and use the ones you already have. Some people just sell their old lenses and then buy the new ones for the camera system they have now. Personally I keep what I have and if a better camera comes out then you have the lenses to fall back on to use. Cheers!

    I have three Sony APSC cameras and can always use another one. I own the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (56mm Is My favorite Sigma lens) and the Full Frame 35mm f/1.8. It is cheaper than the Sigma 30mm but for $150 and use it for vacations and trips it seems to be the right lens I am looking for. Is it smaller than the Sigma in length? I may have to eat my words because I am in the middle of your video. If you gave the info from this video I will delete the comment. • @Vendetta725

    My concern with the TTartisan "27mm f2.8" for Nikon Z, it loses video focus in and out and, slightly, auto focus breathes even under proper lighting while in AF using Eye and face Focus. So if this 35mm exhibits the same behavior, then this lens is not for me.

    Yes, TTartisan's AF drifts in and out, slightly, under even proper lighting while Eye and Face Focus are enabled. Perhaps it's just a bug which can be addressed by a Firmware Update?

    Agreed about for X mount. Biggest disappointment is the lack of aperture ring. They managed to do it with the 27mm. Also the minimum focus distance is a bit stingy. I would choose the XC over this.

  • @ionrage

    @ionrage

    6 ай бұрын

    @@richardhale9664 the issue with the XC is, its more expensive and not much better and slightly darker. What a lot of videos don't tell you is, a number of retailers actually put this lens on a sale, I picked mine up for £102 from £130 with delivery and the XC is like £160-£170 at best, the XC is not worth it and has a plastic lens mount, I could deal with it if it had a metal lens mount at least but plastic on metal means the plastic will scrape over time against the lens mount never mind deformation. The TTa lens is metal lens mount, so the question is, why is Fuji so stingy on this.

    I’m struggling to picture the buyer on a budget who wants a just-OK standard prime lens. If they have the kit zoom, the $149 buys 3 aperture stops and sacrifices in firmware, focus, and maybe even optics. I think your $450 kit example could probably find excellent optics with the alternatives that could be found for $50-75 more, or get better value from a camera with the kit lens. I’m not sure this master of none makes sense in the middle of those two price points.
