I became a wildlife rescue volunteer after working in a large healthcare facility (old building) in which the maint man trapped and removed 3 raccoons. Unaware it was baby season or any knowledge of wildlife in general, he didn’t check for babies. They began crying and we had 2 different locations in which a total of 9 eyes-closed babies were found. With only a limited ability to find adequate care for all of the babies, staff eventually had to care for 3 and I took one. This began my entry into raccoon rescue. Every year I get dozens of baby raccoons. So many ppl just kill the animals or worse, torture them. So thankful for folks like you who care enough to give them the life they deserve and want to do the right thing.

@@tundrawomansays694 omg we have a lot here on Vancouver island bc Canada but thanks for the offer, we r having some Marriott problem I have never seen one and don’t think I would know one if it came knocking at the door, I guess certain ones r on the mainland but with trucking and traffic with the ferries to this island they hitch a ride for greener pastures so to speak, it’s funny how they have to be caught and returned to where they came. Now I can’t remember why they r banned from the island but it’s got to do with the ecosystem and they would destroy it I guess. But thanks for the offer but I will have to decline we right now have a mama out and about with three babies. And she isn’t being nice haaaaaaaaa. Raccoons actually taste wonderful baked with vegetables, and smothered in gravy. 😋 And raccoons can do a lot of damage to property...especially gardens, chickens, and small pets... including cats and small dogs, so they're not as cute as you think. People like you will never survive if things get really tough, because you wouldn't be able to kill "cute" animals for food, to fill your own bellies..... UNTIL you were literally starving to death. 🙄

I, too, thought of the stethoscope, but there is another type used by auto mechanics that has a long tubular sound pick up in place of the small round pick up used on the medical stethoscopes. These are used by mechanics and machine repair persons to isolate the source of whatever mystery noise coming from the machine in question. There are also cameras mounted on flexible tubes, similar to flexible goose neck lamps, with a built in light source. These are great for seeing around corners or into cavities via a small hole. They connect to your phone with either USB or blue tooth. Most have at least some zoom capabilities. Prices run all over the place so it could be prudent to purchase an economical one to make sure the device will serve your needs before making a larger investment.

The honey bees were removed by a beekeeper, the skunks had their access hole covered up before they had young, the possums were caught with Have-a-heart traps and the raccoons my dad waited until mum would take them out for evening walks. Took 4 tries before he successfully sealed off her hole. Those guys are crazy resourceful.

Curious, why don't you utilize the attic hatch for jobs such as these? I work in attics doing Mold Removal, so I know how tedious it can be to navigate them. I also understand there's a risk with wild animals crawling around however, wouldn't it be simpler to open the hatch, poke your head and or a mirror with a light mounted to it to locate the babies rather than having to cut holes trying to get lucky? Good work either way

You don't want Raccons in Australia. They are nasty, biting critters. If they are inside your attic for more than a couple of months, they can crap through your ceiling. I doubt that you would want to have that happen to your house. This man is very resourceful with raccoons. After all the animals that have invaded Australia, Raccoons are very destructive to 🏘️ 🏘 🏠 🏘️ 🏘 🏠 🏘️. Take my word for it, and many people just might agree with me.

You seem very caring and genuinely care for them being safe, reunited, and Alive. I'm hoping you don't exterminate (kill) any. "Humanely" or not. My neighbor had a "humane" removal/exterminator get raccoons out of their roof space. The man doing it told the husband (neighbor) that gassing or drowning them is considered "humane" under state law. So sad. I let the ones in my attic stay until we saw the babies leave. Then we had the entry spaces all repaired and secured. Thank You for not killing them. Lastly, babies need to be fed every 2 to 4 to 6 hours depending on age. Thank You for sharing this. 🙏GOD BLESS You

It's a shame that people don't use nesting boxes for the little guys then they wouldn't need to break into homes. I am happy that you are there though, to help rescue the babies.

The overall attitude of society is we as people gotta earn our keep. But it’s a shame people aren’t providing shelter for animals?

Just came across your channel and love it . Setting poisons and traps is easy but since we are the caretakers of this planet , that means doing things as ethical as possible. Good job brother. Keep up the good work .

There is the difference between Canada and the US. In the US traps and poisoning would have happen. Cheap greedy companies don't want to pay and don't anything about wildlife. Gates does! Probably li,e in Europe a craftsman guild. We need this here, too.

Not everyone but one is one too many. I have a female that comes inside everyday to help herself to cat food or anything else she can pick up. She had one baby last year in the carport and I wanted to hold him so bad but she shoved him in the carport roof.

@tinawindham6958 when we ( humans) take away their habitats, they are forced into cohabitation. We then punish them with traps, hunting and exposing them to disease. They are all God's children and we, as appointed by God, to take care of animals, must go the extra mile to help them survive. I had my first one last summer and I lived Rocky. His mom and family had all disappeared and he was alone. Thank you for caring for your one. 👁❤️🦝🦝

I will never forget the time my mini pincher brought in a newborn baby squirrel in the house. I dont know how he did it?The baby didnt even have hair or its eyes opened yet. He just rested it on his dog bed and he my other dog were just staring at it. It was alive. Just days old. Must have fell out of a tree. He wasnt hurt either. I think the dogs new it was a baby something. My husband ended up taking the poor thing to a squirrel rehab center in town. My husband check on him months later and the lady said he grew up happy and healthy and went off along his way out to the real world. 😊
