Raccoon Real Estate: Mama Raccoon's Heartwarming Move!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Gates Wildlife stepped in to compassionately resolve a delicate situation involving a mother raccoon and her babies in a homeowner's attic. Despite the homeowner's attempt to handle the issue independently with a one-way door, the resourceful raccoon outsmarted the setup. It's a reminder of the risks associated with DIY wildlife control, as success could have separated the mother from her babies if she had been locked out while they were inside. Understanding the situation, Gates Wildlife intervened to safely remove the babies from the attic while keeping the family united.
Recognizing the importance of maintaining the maternal bond, we allowed the mother raccoon to temporarily relocate to our heated reunion box for 1-2 weeks. After this heartwarming reunion period, she eventually decided to move her babies to another den site, demonstrating the significance of professional and humane wildlife management in ensuring the well-being of both animals and homeowners.

    I think that as developed and well-treed the Greater Toronto Area is, it seems inevitable that racoons, in particular, will have an increasingly more difficult time finding new sites safe from predators.

    Poor mama, she just needed time to find a new spot! So good that you were able to give her space, and thankfully the homeowners attempt failed or that would have been a horrible fate for the babies. I am curious, how often does that happen where the mama doesn't have an alternate site in mind so decides to camp out in the box?

    Cannot say I blame her, the box must have been a nice temporary den. Maybe she felt the babies needed to grow a little before she moved them, or she needed time to prepare another den site. They are such beautiful, intelligent and gentle creatures. We are not lucky enought to have them in the UK. If we did, I would build a nest box in one of my trees and have supplemental food on hand for any nocturnal visitors just like my hedgehog and occasional fox that calls;

    I find these guys pretty often. Please don't leave glue traps in your attics, folks. That being said, baby oil gets them off a sticky trap with no harm done. Also, in Texas they sometimes travel in pairs. One distracts you and the other tries to beat you up while you try to not fall through the ceiling. Watch your six, boys. They're clever.

    @@nadiarepich5199she just asked a question! Not everyone has the ability to afford calling pest control. Not everyone look at it the same. As a human being of course it's not ok if someone did it to her! Those things carry so many diseases and cost a lot of damage to people homes. Maybe the state they live in doesn't allow relocation. I live in Louisiana I have seen so much damage they cause to people, pets and homes. I myself don't like them at all I would care for a alligator or a bear before a raccoon. Leave her alone Big Bully. Is it ok if someone post that you are a despicable human being saying this stuff!

Of course , we should love animals just as much, because God put them here on earth for us HUMANS to love, cherish, and take care of them!! But we're NOT supposed to put animals before humans, NEVER😡!! It's a shame that a person can purpeously unalive another person and will only receive a maximum of 10 years in prison depending on the severity of the crime and the court's jurisdiction, and how their laws are set up!! Now let a person unalive a police K-9 dog or a bald eagle, they'll try to burn that person at the stake and give them a life sentence without parole😠!! This system is so backward, biast, unfair, and corrupt!! It's ludacris!!😔
