Hey everyone, thanks for all the messages and patience! It took a while to get a new video out, haha. I was sick, and then got sicker. I'm still taking it easy and recovering, it'll take a while to get my energy back, and get back into the groove. Anyway, hope everyone is doing good, take care and thanks for watching.

I like your van. You made some good points about a van vs. fancy vans or campers. I have a 3/4 ton Chevy Pickup and I carry a 2600 overhead camper. It is very comfortable (Fridge, toilet, indoor and outdoor shower and in/out gas cookers/ heater/ac/memory foam queen bed, etc.) and drives well, except it is top heavy. High winds and side-sloped tracks are scary. Also going down long steep hills takes frequent stops to let the brakes cool. Every mode of camping/travel has it's ups and downs. I love your videos and your life style. Take care of yourself and Rocco, and many Blessings to all.

Makes a ton of sense to have a truck that can 4 wheel a lot better than a van- particularly for you as your use is about as extreme as it gets. I have been in a 4x4 pickup and Four Wheel Camper pop-up rig for almost six years now...I love it! I don't know about truck campers. Seems like they'd all have a very high center of gravity. Huge wind resistance. The "pop up" types are basically fancy tents. Seems like it would be harder to modify them to your liking than a van. Another option would be to reconsider things entirely. Buy a bit of property somewhere and make it your home base. Build a tiny off grid cabin. Simultaneously, buy a right proper off road vehicle, maybe a jeep, + a small off-road tear drop trailer. Hop in the jeep + off road tear drop trailer and head out there for a week or so. Then come back, recoup at your home base. If you need to remain 100% mobile a van still seems like the best bet.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I have my minivan built out for weekend camping but I have always wanted a truck camper set up, just seems like the best way to go.

Had a pickup with a camper in the bed they are handy but very tippy. And that was an older one , today the pickups are so tall it makes it really tippy on those old logging roads . Plus the added height and frontal area would really limit where you could go. With trees and brush in mind. Hope your feeling better..

Have you heard of Total Composites? They're based in Victoria Island and they're making some really nice shells you build out yourself. Seems like a good choice for you if you ever go the truck route.

You have amazing technical skills. My single favourite item is your indoor fire, it seems like it adds company as well as free heat and cooktop. Best wishes.

Glad your well and back in action! Perfect "return" video. Nailed it on the issue with a van vs truck camper, confirmed by a guy in the middle of a awd van build 😅go with a truck camper if you are hitting the woods and don't put a high value on "stealth". If trying to hide in plain sight in the city, get a mini van and keep it stock on the outside.
