Story telling is different than originality. There isn't an original (novel) idea or concept on display here. That is we have seen it all before. The only question is - once we set aside our disbelief in the ludicrous plot - is how well they tell the story. We have seen this setup over and over. I would point out that the reason "Jaws" and "Alien" and "Predator' were so successful was because of the very fact that the monsters were barely seen in most of the movie. This made the horror and suspense all the greater. Now consider the extended Jaws and Aliens franchises, and what bad movies they produiced. When your monster is not only revealed, but becomes major star in the films, their suspense value is eliminated and all you have to rely on is script and filmmaking: something modern Hollywood is virtually incapable of doing well. @@Logypoo

Big respect to Lupita. From Juliet on stage to Patsy in 12 Years a Slave, from Us to Black Panther to now this...beautiful woman, great actress.

Presumably this new movie will be entirely about that early point - or mostly - and we'll get more answers. And more scares. And more action. The first time a trailer gave me goosebumps in 12 years and it's over like that. I haven't gone to theaters since the Force Awakens and didn't see the first two installments of this movie but I want to see this in theaters.

I feel like pre-order for tickets will be so bought up so much the sites might be slowed down due to the excess amount of people online, not just one day but for at least 3 lol. This is going to be epic!

I love how the first movie was so small in budget and scale, but made so much money and had a great story that now, John and his team have been able to create huge blockbuster-like sequels [and prequels]. This isn't Krasinski's movie, this is Michael Sarnoski, who wrote and directed it. Krasinski's strong PR during promotion misled people to think he was the creator of A Quiet Place. He wasn't, Scot Beck and Bryan Woods created it, and the producers and Paramount bought their script. They were initially going to direct it too, but after Krasinski came on board he directed it.

This is what we like to see. Origin stories are just _the BEST!!_

My focus was on how nonchalant the cat was all throughout the trailer

The first and second films started in the countryside. I always wondered what happened in the big cities and the army who were supposed to protect them. I hope they make another spin off of another place like Europe or Asia in the same state. Can't wait for it.

i see some people saying that this wasn’t needed and a quiet place should have had just one movie, and usually I would agree because usually I think horror movies don’t need more than two movies, but I think the world of a quiet place offers so much potential. im very excited to see the days where these creatures first landed on earth and how survivors begin to realize the key to survival is staying quiet

1:10 I want to focus on this part right here. So, she coughs and alerts the Death Angels, but, with the screen shaking we can say that she attracted a Horde of them. Which is terrifying. Keep in mind the other two movies we always had 1 Death Angels hunting down our characters at a time, with the occasional 2. But this time its potentially Hundreds if not Thousands of them, and that, is horrifying.

Yes, I loved Us. It’s my favorite Jordan Peele movie. I didn’t really care for Nope & found their “dyslexia” … “joke” in bad taste. I appreciated Get Out but I wasn’t a big fan of it. I’ve rewatched Us like at least 7 times though.

The first quiet time absolutely worths it. The movie was so quiet and no one dared to make a sound because it would be so obvious. And I didn’t get to open my chips. haha

@@nadonado648the plot can be endless. So many perspectives can be thrown in this! Which is why this works so well! I am really hoping though that this film dives more into these creature lore just a bit more, but I think not knowing what they are truly is more terrifying.

I don't know if this is true for all cats but I know that when my cat is scared it stays quiet. Anytime we are in unfamiliar places traveling she stays silent. She only makes noises when comfortable at home. Still... I know at some point it will make noise and that makes me so sad already.

@@iluvrocknrap Any time I mention that I work in film and TV online there is always someone who says I'm lying. It would be such an odd thing to lie about unprompted. According to the Motion Picture Association, the film industry in the US alone supports 2.4 million jobs. It's not that unusual.

@@TheOman124 I preface this by saying I don't know him and haven't worked with him. What people have said to me is that he's a psychopath who turns on a smile and is a great guy when anyone famous is around, but that he's incredibly emotionally abusive to crew, is manipulative, and that he asks too much of them, and that he becomes furious and pushes stunt people to violate security rules and endanger themselves. I've heard two different people say that they've met plenty of bad people in the business, but that he is by far the worst.
