Lovely video, so relaxing and a very realistic view of parenthood. I have 3 kids age 2, 4 & 6 and am a stay at home mom so my knitting time is almost completely determined by their life phases, some weeks I get almost no knitting in, others I can knit several hours a day. Quiet hours are quite the treat during the day!

Lovely video. Remember that quiet time to yourself is more important than doing the laundry. Us Moms need to recharge to be there for our kids.

so cozy & calming, love this slow chatty crafty style of vlog. reaaaally resonated with the message about finding balance in motherhood with our time, crafting and homemaking. making time for a bit of all of it to alleviate the overwhelm during the awake time. it can feel impossible to manage anything during their awake time especially now that he is a toddler but finding time for me is just as important as finding time for picking up the home. I think it’s important to see it as modeling that for them though, making time for us and also caring for a home! they are paying attention to everything we do!

You look so cosy and relaxed in your new home. What a pity the polo neck on your jumper annoys you. It looks so nice but I understand when things are annoying, it’s all you can think about. Don’t make it too small though. You could re start the green sweater and frog back the bit you have done at a later date. I find this can be more comforting to do. Looking forward to your progress. ❤❤

One suggestion for referencing techniques without the phone is to write it down on an index card, like a recipe. Just writing might also help you memorize it.

It's amazing how our priorities change once we become mums. I had 4 children, all adults now. I often look back and wonder how I fitted it all in. The only quiet time I had was nap time when they were little, which was always filled with home making chores for me. Once they went to school and were old enough to do more for themselves, thats when I took quiet time and did my craft, (then sewing) or took time for myself. Good on you for doing it when you can. Good luck with the cables.

I've been forcing myself to wear it basically all weekend and while I agree it doesn't look bad I'm almost 95% certain the collar would work better for me :) good thing we can change these things!

I really enjoyed this style of video from you, Bethany! Thanks so much for putting it together! I'm a new mom to a 6-mont-old daughter and I'm struggling to find time to knit lately. I do a lot of it in the evening after I've put her to bed (if putting her to bed works out well...), but I do wish I had more time for it like I used to.

The purple sweater looks quite lovely on you! I totally understand about turtlenecks suffocating you tho. I feel that way with a lot of shirts and sweaters....sometimes even crew. I'm a mom of a 20 something and a 5 yo. When that lil one was born, all knitting came to a halt. 5 yrs later, with their disability, i still don't have a lot of time to knit, but i do put it on my list of things to each day--even if it's just a row. And it has helped them find a love of yarny things....even if right now that just looks like squealing with joy while spinning my swift or helping me wind cakes. Hipe your neck unknitting project goes smoothly and you make lots of progress on your intentions this year! Taje care. ❤

I understand completely about the pattern mess up's! I recently got the 52 weeks of socks book and was so excited to try it out. I started the first sock, which is toe up (i do a lot of cuff down) and my gauge was off and I felt like the measurements for the pattern were wrong. I was trying to work the gusset but was nervous that it wouldn't fit. I undid a lot of the cables on it and was going to start the gusset sooner but then was still so confused, I frogged the whole thing. Later I realized that it had a certain amount of positive ease on it, which totally confused me because it wasn't in the book. But I do want to try it again as I do love the pattern (The Intersections Sock). It's funny though, because I do love trying to figure out the problems that I have in a project before frogging but this one was just disastrous.

So nice to see your process! I am so badly in love with your north sweater which you knitted from bottom to top. It looks like THE perfect sweater in my opinion. Also, I love the oversized fit. Sadly I couldn't find any pattern for that one. So here's your call, if you like - I'd love to knit it!!! ☺️
