I'm not going to act like the movie is perfect cause you're right, it is consolidating a lot of things from the show and has its own share of flaws as an individual movie. But if you compare it to the show, it might as well be a masterpiece since it fixes like 90% of my problems. Marinette isn't an obsessive stalker with her character feeling more grounded, Adrien isn't a harasser who refuse to accept "No" as an answer from Ladybug, Gabriel ACTUALLY LOVES HIS SON with the love for his son being what makes him give up being Hawkmoth (seriously, THIS is what we should have gotten in the show) and Marrientte + Adrien actually have a healthy dynamic with each other. Again, I do agree with several of your critiques but after seeing Miraculous Ladybug go from an okay series to a complete dumpsterfire as they make one dumb decision after another, the movie is honestly a breath of fresh air.

7:00 Just wanna point out the magic circle in her eyes, suggesting she's under some sort of mind control making her put on the earrings. Minor detail, but I felt the need to point out.

@@d4red3v1l8 Maybe mind control is the wrong term to use here. Let's say suggestion? She feels compelled to put the earrings on, because the magic is calling out to her. The reason I believe that to be the case is because Marinette is shown to be a timid and complacent kid in this movie, but the moment she puts her hands in those earrings, she decides to put them on despite not knowing whose they are or even if it's okay for her to be in that place. Couple that with the cinematography, making sure her eyes are in frame when she's putting them on and the reflection of the magic circle being very clear over her blue eyes, and that's how you communicate that some sort of magical force is compelling her to put them on.

I wasn’t expecting Hawk Moth to sing, & the song was honestly so amazing i LOVED IT.

I don’t understand why Marinette had to sing right after she leaves her home, I feel like it would make sense for her to sing AFTER school because she says she doesn’t believe in herself but if we ignore the show and let’s we have no idea on who these characters are and this is the first time we’re seeing them, we’d be confused on why tf she’s singing right after leaving her house and we know nothing about her lol, but if she sang after school we’d understand why she feels the way she feels.

True, they should've removed that song as her school antics already enforce the idea that she's insecure and clumsy. They should've had You're Ladybug as the first song and then after Cat Noir's song, she should sing Courage In Me when she sees her father in danger at the carnival/fair. It would add more emotional weight to her choosing to go back to being ladybug, since she's rescuing her father this time.

There's actually a trilogy planned.. so this is only part 1 of 3. I'm actually excited for the other ones because they'll be something completely original, without Gabe as the bad guy. As for how Adrien knows Nino.. it's actually never stated in the movie that he was homeschooled. It's very possible that they just know eachother from last schoolyear, or before that.

I think there actually was a catalyst for Marinette to decide she could be a hero after all in the fair scene: she knew lots of people were in danger, and decided she had to save everyone, even if she didn't know them personally.

As a miraculous "fan" meaning a fan who watches the show not because is good rather than it is really freaking bad and infuriating that i love it, i loved the movie so much I agree the movie isn't perfect but i think what you dislike of the movie were things different from the show, which is understandable but i honestly did a lot of things wayyy better and less things worse, SPECIALLY the main two characters since in the show are very terrible, Marinette being an stalker and only personality liking adrien ( until season 3/4 at least) and Adrien being a character at all rather than being just a background 3d model. That to me is way more important than the shenanigans of the love square of ultimately very boring but good for an episodic show characters and little stuff like that ultimately is just background knowledge for the fans of the wacky show. I really not hating the show, I'm just telling the reality. That being said WTF DID THEY DO TO PLAG IN THE MOVIE???? THAT'S MY ONLY REAL COMPLAIN, BRUH YOU CANNOT TELL ME YOU MAKE HIM A FART JOKE!!!

These are fair criticisms and really could've been fixed with some simple corrections. I still prefer the movie over the show and that's because it feels like a complete story, yes it is rushed, but at least it feels satisfying as a story. The show on the other hand, keeps drawing out the villain and love square to the point of being tedious, reminiscent of those long 100 chapter fanfics where the premise is stretched out for no reason. I'd rather see both main characters at the climax against their first foe, than only Ladybug taking on Gabriel, ultimately losing their miraculous through an obvious trap. The movie has some simple mistakes it can fix, compared to the show where it just adds more mistakes with every new addition.

100% agreed! The way that they handled Gabriel was a million times better then what we got with the show! One of the series main messages is that the power of love will always save the day, and this movie follows that creed better then the show ever did. Show Gabriel learns that Adrien is Chat Noir? Instantly goes to manipulate him yet the show still has the audacity to make it seem like Gabriel cared about him. But movie Gabriel realizing that Chat Noir is his son leads him to having a complete breakdown and be horrified over him harming his son which is SO much better

Ironically rushing the whole thing makes it feel more natural than in the show due to the show spending over 120+ episodes with hawkmoth which burnt many out on his villain shtick.

@@littlebabyman8494 Very true and that's what happens when you take a villain who at best should last 2 seasons, then stretch him out for 5 seasons with increasingly ridiculous reasons. They should've replaced him with a villain who has a connection to the miraculous' creation and is more threatening, to force the characters to unlock stronger powers as well as stronger forms. Knight Noir and Priestess Bug could be interesting forms to call on the powers of previous holders.

@@littlebabyman8494We already know from the show that aside from Marinette’s stalker creepy moments, she abd Adrian have actual chemistry, so I didn’t mind the love montage, it does what it needs to show “Yah a decent amount of time is passing and they’re falling in love.” So when they do finally reveal their identities it’s so satisfying. And yah Hawk Moth is so much better in the film.

This movie is not perfect, and I agree that some plot points are very fast to get to the climax. However the one thing I didn’t agree with is the love square. Sometimes less is more. That love square is annoying in the show. It infuriated me to no end. The best accomplishment of this movie is making that stupid romance actually cute because the personalities are way more toned down.

I do wish the movie was longer.

To be fair, the movie gave us a better ending than the show that just removed chat noir because Adrian can’t disobey his father for no reason.

I love the movie, deserved a wide theatrical release, deserves a blu ray release.

I went to see it in cinemas with my lil brother, we both love the show (for some reason, like we also hate it but also love it). We loved it, but we felt weird being the only guys there, also the fact im an adult, i felt like i was in the wrong place. But idk i loved the movie.

I actually do not agree with your statement about this movie being ‘for fans’. I have been a fan since 2019, know all the lore, am attached to the characters and still can’t wait for new Miraculous content when it is announced. And yet this film still managed to disappoint me. Because the thing is, any emotional beat rings hollow and what you get over all is a frustrating viewing experience which leaves you wanting more, but not in a ‘this was so good that I want to see more’ way, rather in a ‘ok, maybe the sequel will be better’ way. Even your FNAF movie argument doesn’t really apply here, in my opinion, since I, too, have been a FNAF fan for years and liked the movie, since (unlike Miraculous) the characters and the story actually go from point A to point B in a clear and linear way, while the Miraculous movie feels as if it crammed more than a 100 episodes worth of plot without none of the charm.

With the minor mistakes the movie made, the writing and story more then makes up for it as it gives us the story we all wanted from the show, it fixes most problems or doesnt make these problems to begin with. Movie is 100% better, it makes the character actual humans with feelings and its a fun watch too. Also your main problems with the movie is 1. Isnt like the show and 2. Is too much like the show. I dont agree with your opinions these times, the story here is much better then the shows. Its not perfect but its much better.

i saw it in theaters (in france) and it was EVEN WORSE, because the singer for marinette was absoltuely HORRIBLE. I actually forgot if she was the dubber for the entire movie or just hte singer, but oh god it hurt

Im not diametrically opposed to having a different singer than teh voice actor if thats what works for the character or the VA doesnt want to or cant do it,,, but they couldve at least chosen someone with any sort of semblance of similarity in their voice or tone,, the singers voice is lower, more mellow, and airier, directly opposed to the VA who has a higher tone with more intention and core,,, of which there are plenty of singers who could match up(if not the VA herself considering she can apparently sing) it's just so jarring to switch to such a different voice and completely pulls you out of the story, and there isnt even a reason for it,,, itd sound more natural if she suddenly started singing in french but kept the same tone, thats how much it takes you out of it, completely unnecessarily,,,,, i think thats the part that makes it the most annoying for me,, that it couldve been fine with the song, maybe a bit badly placed, but not awful,, but then they *created* their own arbitrary problem where not omly does the song happen too early in the show, but it also doesnt even help you connect with the character because its clearly not the same person you see when shes talking,, and it was *completely unnecessary*
