    My printer lives in my theatre/AV room. It runs nearly all day and night. I remember the day I had to replace my board with 32bit drivers. I found I missed it singing away in the corner. So weird.

    very nice bro , is there a way we can increase the area at the front opening so that is spreads the air that comes out instead of making is go straight .If was thinking of putting it against a 120×360 mm radiator . So if it spreads air over larger arer then i have to use less of the blower units to cover the whole raiator fins

    You've made sure that your final setup has the blades spinning in the direction of their convexity, right (which might typically be counterintuitive)? That way it blows best because it's less burdensome to the motor.

    That's the way you go if you wanna throw the air outta that blow outlet ! 👍

  • @HelloKittyFanMan

    @HelloKittyFanMan

    @@ProDroneControl: The air will only go out that hole with either direction that you spin the fan, as a centrifugal fan. It will just blow a lot harder when you spin this kind of centrifugal fan in the convex direction, because it puts enough less load on the motor for the amount of power you're giving it, and thus the motor can actually spin at enough of a faster speed that's more than just making up for the lesser amount of air being picked up at a time by each blade for being spun away from their concave direction instead of towards it. If the fan were a "squirrel cage" type of centrifugal fan instead, then by design you would spin it in the concave direction comma and it wouldn't give you as high a pressure as this one would if you spun it correctly, but it would give you more flow at a time. I don't really know how to explain the difference between pressure and flow rate when the size of the housing isn't adjusted to match one or the other.

  • @HelloKittyFanMan

    @HelloKittyFanMan

    4 ай бұрын

    @@ProDroneControl: You would have made this more effective with the blades spinning in the other direction, not only for the reason that I just stated, but also because they would be throwing the are directly towards the outlet rather than just into the circular area again. Also, these are normally in more of a spiral shape with the blower blades and intake on the inside of the spiral than they are like this ( basically your circle with that straight area coming out of it). I can't explain why the spiral is supposed to work better, but it does.

    This wpuld be perfect for a papr project im revisiting, the only problem i have is the motor size. Do you have any ideas for a shorter motor that would still put out that kind of air flow? Or maybe recessing the motor into the body of the blower itself?

    only failure is balance, producing vibration, and wearing out bearings and motor faster the shaft is so wimpy, printers are getting so cool, but for any that are available to make for others; owners want too much to sharre em.. If they did enough they could up garde and have 2 or a lesser needs accomplice.

  • @ProDroneControl

    Very good comment. Design in itself, comes out pretty balanced. Thing that produces vibrations is the hole where shaft fits. Its not perfect circle nd to the size.. one may have to make tighter hole and then drill perfect hole or using metal thing might do well..

    Buying DC blower can be little expensive at first with DC motor being the expensive item. If you have any DC motor lying around, you can make your own blower that fits motor size like I did. You ll need 3D printer for that. I have provided downloadable files for the blower in the description of this video. Thanks!

    @@ProDroneControl , sorry, my mistake. This kind of design is a bit hard to understand for me. Also, reversing the motor you just reverse the airflow. If you want to try my idea, flip the fin rotor upside down... which won't work too (no air intake in that case). I watched several other videos about such air blowers and one guy measured the effectiveness of several types of fins. Curved fins are okay, but not the best. kzread.info/dash/bejne/d3aKpK-vmMyaiZM.html
