I could not agree more Luke ! I found through other channels this Wise and Great Tree which is Father Spyridon who stands now in this Barren Desert of Human Loss and Degeneration. A Tall Tree that offers Solace and Shade to he or she that need more Understanding on how we can truly be closer to the Christ and God ! Where Weary Souls may sit and think on who they are, where they are and indeed where they want to go when All ofthis thing we call Life comes to its Final Conclucion ! Father Spyridon words have come to me at a time when i was never more in need and he gives me now the strenght to face myself and my relationship to God .... i am slowly making my way forward to a better place and it feels so Good to feel Happniess again !

It's helpful to read your comment. I have also been thinking lately about bad habits I have that I now realise I do to distract myself from stress, loneliness, irritation with other people, even boredom! This week I decided to fast (from a few different things) and pray about these habits and try to get to the bottom of them, and ask the Lord how I can address them. Some habits have been there for such a long time, it's hard to imagine myself without them!

I think we're all in the same boat, if we are honest with ourselves. Normally, I can go without food for days if need be, but as soon as I know that I CAN'T eat, that liverwurst sandwich is all I'm craving. I only crave meat when I'm fasting. I have the judgement problem too. It started when my son was young, because I was trying to teach him the difference between the world's idea of right and God's idea of right. So I would point out to him things on TV, or music or whatever that the world approved of, that violated the commandments, and I guess I got in a mental habit. I don't SAY anything to people or gossip, but in my mind, I'm thinking, This is sinful, that's sinful. We all have our faults, and we have to be vigilant. St. Seraphim of Sarov said It's easier to keep the thief from entering the door, than it is to try to get him out once he's broken in. That's what we all have to do. Hopefully, going to confession tonight, looking forward to a clean slate.

i pray everytime for God's help to overcome my earthy attachments, to overcome my tendencies to be judgemental, angry, hating. I pray for God's help to bless even people doing evil and harming us (politicians, mainstream media figures)...It's hard but there is simply no other way than the way of undconditional love and compassion. Our Lord Jesus Christ said "I Am the Light of the world" so we also must be light to other people. And when Father Spyridon said that it's not our bussiness to explore and try to explain the so called mysteries of this material world, i just realized that i spend too much free time researching geopolitics and powerful societies running this world thinking i'm exposing the evil but truth is that i'm just wasting my time. I have to focus in the Light not in the darkness. God Bless You.

@@wendyflanagan5738 Thank you, God Bless You Wendy, i already started to make notes while reading the Holy Scriptures and then search for detailed info about certain people and events from Gospels and from other Holy Books. Moreover, i make my research about Desert Fathers Saints - Spyridon, Anthony, Basil, etc...everytime i'm going to study the Holy Scriptures i pray to the Holy Spirit for better understanding and each time before meal i bless my food and thank God for His generosity. And praying to the Theotokos - Virgin Mary, Mother of God for Her intercession is helping me a lot. I used to have evil dreams and sleeping paralysis almost every night but as soon as i started praying regularly, all these bad experiences disappeared and now i have good sleep with enjoyable dreams about my old friends from childhood and school. God is ready to help us everytime we ask Him for His help and guidance. It's in Matthew 7:7,8 " Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

You are the best teacher of Christianity that I've ever heard. When I was 27, I actually called a Catholic church+monastery, and told the priest that ran the operation that I was sick+tired of the evil in this world, and I wanted to be a monk. And he did his best to discourage me by telling me how hard it was to be a monk, and what a difficult life it was. So, I said ok, thanks. But I had been meditating a few hours per day since 20, and just continued alone in life. And I ended up making some progress on my own. Anyway, I wholeheartedly agree with this talk too. But I recommend people really see the seriousness of your words, and the depth of their meanings, and not listen to your words as pleasant music. Eg, the part in the beginning about St. Gregory. Very very important. This talk is really about the physics of the spirit/soul. There is a physics to how it operates, and how it breaks free. Development is a ripening process. Note: it is not only eastern practices that may exclusively be making promises rooted in technique 🙂 it's just as bad in western Christianity. Eg, do this, do that, and you are now saved 🙄 It is as you say, in the essence of what you say: it is in the practice, the technique, the asceticism, the virtue, the wisdom, the concentration, and by grace.

This was a great talk and it was awesome it was a little longer. I struggle with my passions and senses. A few impulses I have got under control by the Grace of God. Other passions and lustful desires I continue to battle with. Also, I have found that as I have grown as a Christian, a different set of pitfalls awaits me. For example, in the past, I was too meek and timid. I have repented of this in Confession. As I’ve become more courageous and knowledgeable in The Faith, I have been able to speak up and defend the Faith more, but, I realized that the prideful feelings I would feel afterwards is now something else I Must repent of (same with how I feel sometimes after I tithe). It is very humbling but every day that I get up again is another opportunity to strive to do better! Lord Have Mercy on me, a sinner. Blessed Lenten season to you, Father! ☦️🙏🏻

Try to remember on the hour every hour if it is safe to do so, that God is always Present and is for us not against us. I have started fasting better. I pray the Rosary, I have been Catholic from my Catholic Baptism. I am a Vegan as I see it as being as kind to animals and the planet as possible. It is my choice, no judgement for others. My issue is sadly anger and I need prayers for this lack of virtue. God bless you and keep persevering in faith. God is a loving Heavenly Father who forgave all our sins through the Cross of Jesus. Many still need to hear or read that Good News.

Don’t take this amiss please, but even giving yourself this name for KZread is self-harming spiritually. It’s allowing an energy not elevating attach to your psyche or spirit.

Starve fear. Feed courage. Jesus gave His life for us because He had faith in us. What courage. Sacrifice and service is how we glorify Him, emulate Him. We are here to be His light so that those who don't know Him can carry the lightness of His yoke upon His return. Stop being a dreamer; become a redeemer. Make Him proud.
