Another way to approach and cover in leather a car seat plastic piece. I have used burgundy color, 1.2 mm thick automotive leather. As explained before I have taken advantage of 'stretchy side' of leather. Besides, to improve the stretching I have used a 'special liquid softener' to somehow soften the fibers of this strong material. The 'narrow pocket' was molded by doing some cuts in its corner then joined with 'carpenter's glue'. This pocket could be done in one piece if softened enough and shaped on a hard mold.
The main idea on this process is try to not force the leather material onto lower areas, otherwise it could unstick because of tension. It should be glue down as gently as possible. It is advisable to apply two coats of glue. The first one acts as a primer. The plastic should be sanded off to get a better adherence of glue.
I have used a 'polyurethane transparent glue' to attach the pocket to plastic piece inside. As we can see, it can be activated with some hot air after being dry. Yellow contact cement for the other parts.
I hope you find this information useful!

Exactly! How good did the back of piece look 👀 it was super neat tidy and clean even though no one will ever see it aside from in this video. True skill workmanship and pride very rare in today’s society. I bet you that people with not even half the skill or pride would actually charge twice as much and big note themselves of social media vs this legend.

Actually, not an easy task if we do not follow certain procedures, such as to take advantage of stretchy side of leather, the use of the 'special softener', the two times application of yellow glue on plastic material, the other transparent glue that is activated with heat letting us to position the pocket in place, etc. As always, welcome to this channel anytime!

Hello, You could get it in the stores where shoemakers buy their products. If difficult to find it I have a personal formula that could replace it:kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGWMldWMmsnNp5c.html Notice: the application is just on the wrong side of leather material. After a few minutes of application, stretch it along the stretchy side of leather and other directions you would need. Let it dry (a hair dryer helps) ready for glue.

I used transparent polyurethane glue (heat activated) for the hollow part and upholstery yellow glue (spreadable) for the other areas. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWasx8ezlKmeg9Y.html

Great work as always. Thx. Would the heat from the sun through the windshield reactivate this glue potentially causing issues? These parts look like they might be part of the door panels. Are you using different glues on dash vs door? Thx again.

There is a video description to read: ..."Another way to approach and cover in leather a car seat plastic piece. Cesar"

Most how-to videos have too much talking and jarring or irritating music. You say more with your skilled hands that most can say with their mouths. Plus l can watch them late at night and not wake up the wife.
