Been dating my girlfriend for almost 2 years now (our anniversary is on Christmas). She’s draws and I shoot videos. We got separated due to her work permit here in Malaysia is expired. Now based in Philippines, we were supposed to meet up during this Christmas in Philippines and I would ask her parents her hand in marriage. But Covid started and we have very little option to meet up. So how we turned it around was to draw comics on Instagram, that’s how we date and how we make each other laugh. We’re still holding strong thankfully. This short film, resonates with me on a different level. Loving it.

We've been nevermet friends for almost 7 years and started doing LDR in april. We were talking and were supposed to meet in march but everything just shut down, tried meeting in the summer and that didn't work out and now been together for 8 months and all this time never seen each other in person. Luckily with ft, I get to see her face everyday and that's a blessing and we never wanna give up on each other that's what we both fear is one giving up on the other. I just gotta say in covid, for the people taking the pandemic seriously, it really isn't just long distance couples. There's couples out there that can't even see each other locally and going through a similar situation to us and I can't imagine how tough that is. Ik it's hard now for anyone reading this but just remember in this pandemic, tons of couples have broken up and married couples who've had a life together for years got divorced because they couldn't take that struggle. Remind yourself that your relationship is WAYYYYY stronger than all of those couples because if you can make it, what can be harder? You've already experienced the reality at its hardest

My boyfriend is Korean and I live in the UK (but have an EU passport) and currently in an LDR. We met in the UK in 2019 September but he had to go back to Korea in 2020 on April 1st....we haven't seen each other since then which is extremely heartbreaking. I cried so much during New Year's eve which happened a couple of days ago because it was a day I wanted to be with my boyfriend but I couldn't. Whoever is going through an LDR, I hope you make it!!! I wish you all the luck and strength because I know how hard and painful it is

I fell in love with a guy I never met before. Everything was the same as in this video. But we broke up in the end, distance is the first thing. Second was, because we have different study/work schedule. Things were so hard to keep up with. We laugh, we fight, we do everything together. He is the right one for me I am sure, but the third reason was because we know that despite pandemic is over, we know that we will still be in LDR. Even if he can fly to Msia to constantly meet me or I do the same, it’s hard for us. Because I will be going to the UK for my studies. Distance between us from Msia to Aus will become UK to Aus. Time zone will have a bigger difference. We will be busy with our studies. He’s in the architecture field and I am in the law field. Both so busy with studies and the pandemic is not helping us with our relationship too. If there was no pandemic, I quite believe that we would be a happy couple because our love is strong, but little do I know love is not enough for the two of us. We have to face reality, that love is not adequate for us to keep dreaming. We had to know that reality is hard and that we need to wake up from our dream. It has been 3 months since we broke up and I am still deeply in love with him. Every single day I just miss him. But we broke up. And he won’t be back anymore. I’m happy I met you, I’m sorry you met me Take care, my love. How I wish you will be back. I love you, still.

I really appreciate that my experience in MY made this country second home for our family. Not sure if this video based on true story or not, but I am convinced that COVID-19 has changed the destiny of many of those who would feel Malaysia (and the people) closer. I was in a long distance with my ex Korean girlfriend, I am from Croatia, never met, basically she was 23(working) and I was 18-19(1st year of university) and for us to meet It would take us at least 2 years( I broke up 5 months before Corona happened). Even thought I liked her I was scared It wouldn't work out and I didn't want to waste her 2--4 years of her love life for someone she never met and doesn't who how he is in real life. After I broke up with her we stayed as friends, but I realised I made a mistake which she didn't forgive and after 4 months of trying she blocked me on New year. At the same time I was angry mad and sad. Finally gotten over it, but I do wonder what if I never dated her, would we be friends till now. Problem with this LDR in general is that you never know if it was the right choice or not. Because It is a irrational type of relationship. Soon after that I was in an another long distance but this one I tried to stay, but as expected the love fades away in the long distance relationship especially if you don't communicate often(that is why you need to communicate every single day) And after 4 months of dating, we sat down and just realised we don't like each other anymore(She was busy because of work) and we broke up peacefully and right now we are friends. So my conclusion to mine experience of the LDR is that if you are going into it expect it's going to be hard especially if you are not working already and don't have money to travel and MOVE to an another country( which I was prepared to do) . But some things in life have just bad timing. If you have the opportunity meet them of course and then see where you can go from there, but until then , just be friends and be really good friends, and maybe when the times comes in the future you will date. It will be painless since you are not in love with them( try to keep your feelings away), and accept the fact that it is not the time yet. I am talking about Never met couples. And sometimes being friends is better than being in a relationship. Thank you for reading this, hope that I will can become friends again Somi.

This pandemic ruined almost all the long-distance relationships. Me and my boyfriend also thought it would be okay so we kept trying to maintain this relationship but a few months ago, he felt like he's quite unsure of this RS bcuz we've been apart Since Jan 11, ever since we started dating. We planned to meet in May and Dec during his school breaks but this Covid destroyed all our plans. Things were quite tough to handle, and since he's been acting so strange, I feel like I'm slowly losing him, which makes me sad. In 2021Jan 11, it's gonna be our 1st Anniversary but we took a break 2 weeks ago, yet we're still keeping in touch and we decided to wait for each other until we meet. Although the way he treats me hurts me so much sometimes, I keep comforting my own self just to wait and let him behave as he wants because everything is going to be fine soon. Wish every LDR out there could be able to handle all the hardships and be able to meet their partners very soon.

It's hard to maintain a LDR when you love a person you never really met. Though they don't have any intimacy still they manage to understand each other's feeling just by the texts. The daily Good morning messages, asking them after evey meal about the food, asking how did the day went, and wishing Good Night the days pass by and feelings gets stronger. Sometimes there are misunderstandings, there are fights, there are arguments but at the end when everything settles down that feeling of Love grows even more. I too was in a LDR but she recently broke up, but I still do Love her and will always do. Also she is special as she was my first ever girlfriend ❤️.

So our world not just about our relationship then it's not make we over stress about not meet each during this pandemic or even lost hope for each other 😅 we believe every relationship have their own struggles, even if you stay together that can't make a guaranty that you will last together.. so find someone who can bear with you in all season in your life :)

@Britt B oh wow i know what you mean :( you have to facetime or skype call your partner and tell her exactly how you feel and your insecurities. Communication is key in an LDR! Tell her about your worries, don't keep them inside of you. And also it is absolutely normal to feels this way in an LDR because there is so much uncertainty, I hope you feel better when you and her reunite!

For me I won't ever try this anymore can't take the pain. Would like to wish all the best to those still in LDR have faith in each other, communication is important and trust each other. Theres no one sided love both must give and take. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 🎄

😭😭😭😭😭😭 me and my boyfriend is in a long distance relationship for 6yrs now and counting, we haven't meet yet but everyday we video call and chat, we already introduced both of our families together on video calls. I can relate to some parts of this video this year we almost break up but because of pandemic but we realized we cant do it not communicating with each other and existing in each other's lives. We got stronger and closer despite the distance. I live in the Philippines and he lives in Bulgaria. I can't imagine myself not having him in my life because it's all worth it. He's all worth the wait. 🥰 to my Diyan dimitrov Todorov from Bulgaria obicham te moya lyubov.😚

Ldr is tough... I was in one for two years... Nd it really took a toll on both of me nd my boyfriends mental and physical health... Unless and until both the people have a very good understanding and patience and belief it's not possible to be happy in an LDR.. But the sorrow of those years has shaped me as a person... and helped me lean towards spirituality and the greater truth of the universe.... Maybe that's the only way to deal with such heartbreaking things as having ur loved one so far away from you

Sometimes I feel the circumstances of my LDE just can't get worse enough. Was supposed to stay with her in US till the Feb 2021. So many plans but 2020 wasn't good to us. We've made mistakes in our relationship and some pretty bad ones. It never easy when trust is not complete in a relationship and even worse as we faced people who betrayed us. And before anything could be fixed, LDR hits us with this pandemic and I had to return home. 13 hours time difference, two different countries and a shaky relationship. How is it going to be better with LDR? I think what's important is to look at the bright side of things and if what you want is the same as what you've set our to achieve. Although circumstances aren't easy, hope and love is what keeps you going. Although it is shaky, never forget why you love each other in the first place and if the other person is willing, they might just turn out to be the best version they can be for you and that's something that is worth it. Although LDR is hard, at the end of the day always know that you both achieve something if you've managed to pass through it. It might be what defines your relationship for life. P.S; although we had our moments, our LDR is still going and I hope this pandemic end s in March for me to see her in May next year. I hope everyone gets to see their partners asap too :)

Because of the pandemic I have not been able to visit or return to her side for 2+ years now after getting married.
