    first - made blunders, so some work to get it right - but I think that is is easier. first converted exponents to just x, then it is a slug test to massage it. This is my work 2^(x-5) = 3^(x+1) 1/32* 2^x = 3*3^x 1/96 * 2^x = 3^x log(1/96) + x log(2) = x log(3) log(1/96) = x( log(3) - log(2) ) = x log(3/2 ) x = log(1/96)/log(3/2) = -11.257

    I think you can change the first solution into log form and further calculate to correlate it to the second one

    Why did you use 'ln' in the first solution and 'log' in the second. It doesn't matter, does it?

    whn you take the log and do log match - ok - but when convert to real numbers - it matters a lot. ln is based on e, where log is based on 10. so log(5) and ln(5) are NOT the same number

    At least the first 7 decimals are equal...
