Love this song! My second favorite song is Love You Still (sunset version.) I believe it was dedicated to her dad whom she has had a strained relationship with. Morisette sings from the heart as most Filipinos do. It's amazing! I feel bad for the comment calling it a cheesy Disney song. To that person I would say I'm sorry that you find it hard to listen to such a beautiful song but not all songs are for all people. I'm not sure what genre you enjoy but I hope something makes you feel happy. If You haven't already, check out the Group SB19 singing Ilaw (light.) The Official lyrics video has English subs as the song is sung in Tagalog. The English translation is chilling! Keep exploring Filipino talent, it's amazing!

If you watch the official edition after the editing, you see the names of everyone involved in the making of this video, lyrics from Freddie Santos, who sadly passed away in December 2020, Gary Valenciano who wrote the music for the song and arrangement back in 1990 and is the original singer, he rearranged it for Mori to sing as a tribute to Freddie, what a way to say thank you to a good friend, then Mori's beautiful voice full of emotion, just beautiful and thanks to Dave Lamar Mori's husband for the directing of the video it was perfection in black and white plus the lighting, and a big thanks to everyone involved, this made me cry the first time I listened and watched Mori singing and praying for help from the Messiah, when Mori's tear rolled down her cheek, it was like a truck load of emotions hitting me, I just love Mori, don't get me wrong there are other great Singers out there but Mori is just the best 💙.

for clarification purposes, Could You Be Messiah? is from an original Filipino musical entitled First Name. yes, it is a Christian musical. no, it is not a Disney cartoon and neither is it aimed at children. children who are old enough can watch the musical, though. you find it lame probably because it isn't your type of song or you're not the market for it. but if you listened to the entire song, then a seed has already been planted in your heart subconsciously, and someday when the time is right, the harvest will happen in your life. God will see to that, whether you believe it or not. 🙂

So sad for you that "chessey" and lame (I think you meant cheesy) are the words you chose to use. I think you went into this video with a heart that doesn't allow you to understand the purpose of it. And if it reaches out to children who listen, so what? The title of the song should have given you a hint as to what you would be listening to!!! This song was sung by a beautiful soul, a born-again Christian who sang lyrics that asked questions that many search for when needing someone or something to guide them in their lives. Morissette ALWAYS sings FOR the One who gifted her the incredible voice she has and that shines through in every genre and song she performs!! Very strange that you said it was a "Disney cartoon". Not sure what you saw and listened to but it was not a cartoon by ANY definition. (Learn better words of description if you want to make a point) Walt Disney was known to be an atheist while Morissette is not and she NEVER shies away (when interviewed) from letting anyone know her love for Jesus Christ! You don't shy away from contradiction and that's pretty lame!! Some music is not for some people. It's obvious that "religious" music is not what you like and that's fine. Again, the title should have given it away to you!! But to many others, this song has a purpose of which you don't seem to acknowledge or understand at all. I'm baffled why people like you choose to criticize with ignorance rather than giving ANY credit to a beautiful voice and song! And to try and explain the purpose of the song would totally be lost on you if you didn't get it after listening. It takes a deep understanding, a bit of kindness and humbleness in your own life and an open mind to hear that purpose.
