Every thing is lovely , I have been a makeup artist and beauty therapist for 37 years French trained and I still work in my salon full time … sticking to a few brands either skincare or makeup is the best way to use products . Products are made to go together within the brand so keeping it all together is a good way to get the best results . Make up base does t need to be used all over the face . I always tell my clients don’t cover what isn’t needed to be . I’m a lipstick lady and change it out daily ,most days , but I keep everything else classic a simple and it works with my salon and ,my everyday life when I put myself together everyday. Getting ready is important for me so keeping classic and beautiful is the key . Lovely video xxx

This was the makeup video I needed. So many makeup videos are overwhelming to me as a minimal makeup girl. They go through the product names so fast applying it quickly and end up with a look that I wouldn’t wear. I love your look and appreciate you taking the time to slowly show off the products and your techniques for applying them.

Charlotte Tilbury's palettes are a minimalist's dream. They are quite pricey, but instead of buying many big palettes with crazy color stories where you only use a handful of shades, you can easily buy one from CT and use it all the time for every occasion. I have the Exaggereyes and Pillow Talk quads and haven't needed any other eyeshadows ever since. Great for traveling too, very sturdy packaging. :)

I also have a minimal makeup bag, which has taken me a long time to realise it's all I need. I only use concealer under my eyes and blusher, the rest is kept natural. I invested in the eyelash curler you have about 6 months ago and it's a game changer! I'll never go back haha. Loved this video, less is most definitely more for me

Hi Jessica, my perfect BB cream is Erborian in Doré, it' really is 'my skin but better.' Although it is very pricey still, with a first-time discount code ( and 3 free samples 🙂) it comes out to half the price of Chantecaille. Worth spending more on the base, you can then find effective products which are cheaper for the other things. My go-to concealer is NYX (their eye pencils are also excellent) I think it's even better than Nars but 1/3 of the price, and Vaseline rosy lips lip balm now comes in a tube 🙂

I love that ilia multi stick. I don’t have one right now but I’ve had two colors of it and both were so beautiful. There’s a lot left in the package once it seems like it out so dig in 😂. I recently tried Salt New York for my blush and natural highlight and I love them and Haus Labs concealer is just perfection while looking skinlike. I do all cruelty free and i love seeing that it’s important to others ❤

I have a capsule makeup collection too. My makeup style is almost opposite of you- I love a dark bold or bright red lip but a heavier lash like you as well. I only keep lip colors I love and in formulas I love. Reds, orange, black, purples😊- drama only. I only try something new when I've run out of something else. I also love higher end makeup but I've found some of my best, long-wearing, daily bold lip colors are drugstore brands 😎 I don't do a lot of skin make-up like foundation and concealer. I work hard on skincare and I also have lupus and a part of my symptoms are triggered by sun exposure so I try to use as many products with SPF as possible. SPF serum (supergoop), SPF moisturizer, SPF primer if I'm wearing foundation and SPF cc cream if not. I top it with an SPF highlighter (supergoop cream eyeshadow- it works multipurpose) and SPF blush (either physician's formula SPF multi stick or supergoop lip color). I like a dramatic lash and I do fill in my eyebrows a bit, pretty natural. So it's bold but it's not fussy if that makes sense. Thanks for the video 💕🖤

They might be pricey compared to some other brands but it really is a question of quality over quantity. You get pleasure from these things and look so pretty so they’re worth every penny. You could easily go out for an expensive meal and spend a lot and that’s one evening. These products last a while and add daily pleasure to your life.

Lovely video Jess. I really appreciate your principles around buying what suits yourself and only the essentials. I recently bought myself some new makeup. I wear it occasionally but wanting to get back into it. My old blush/bronzer/highlight was 4 years old! Eww! The brand I went with was Eye of Horus (an Aussie brand as that's were I am) and they do refills, so only buying what you need and making your own palette.

If you like gold packaging you can try the makeup revolution pro lipsticks.Nice colors nice formula and cheap!!

This came at the perfect time! I haven’t worn makeup for a while , but have been wanting to try it again. Just got a sample of liquid foundation yesterday and tried it on, but didn’t like it. Like you I feel that it’s too much. Would like to try out BB cream and see if I like it, but you gave me an idea with the tinted moisturizer 😊

I don’t have too much make up. For me, Merit works. (They don’t ship to Europe, but they do to the UK) it’s meant to be minimal make up. And for me, their products work. My skin is usually quite red, but when I wear their make up, it’s covered, and makes me feel much more confident. And my skin clears up. Cannot recommend Merit enough. The good thing is I have five items from them and that’s all I will need.

I love your little collection lovely and elegant like you 🤍 I mostly have Chanel ( you know why 😆) I love their allure mascara I have in burgundy and black, they put just the right amount of product and flare without touching my glasses all day long ( that bugs me!) also have some eye pencils I am more of a little flick of colors than eyeshadow. Love their tint lip balm I can go for subtle or build up strong color depending the mood and they are really moisturizing . Your video reminds me I need a good declutter, I’ve been holding on old make from high school 😅 I use to do bold eyes colors with black cat eyeliner 😆

Love this topic. Grooming to me is as important - maybe more so - than your outfit. My personal look is a bit heavier - dark lashes, always short dark burgundy nails. That’s how I feel truly like me. I like how you have the word “pretty” as a focus for your look and I think that’s a great starting point. My three words for fashion are feminine, polished, statement and I think that translates well to my make up too when I put the effort in! Interested to know more about the lip blush - did you get it done in Paris, and how long ago?
