What connects 3 continents, 22 countries and legendary empires? It's the Mediterranean Sea 🌊. Said to be the center of the world, the Mediterranean Sea is part of the Atlantic Ocean. So many have passed and still are there; Greeks, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Egyptians, Jews, Hittites, Carthagians, Persians, Romans, Berbers, Goths, Franks, Arabs, Slavs, Seljuks, Spaniards, Ottomans and so on! The sea was an important route for merchants and travelers of ancient times, facilitating trade and cultural exchange between peoples of the region. The history of the Mediterranean region is crucial to understanding the origins and development of many modern societies. The Roman Empire (both Western and Eastern) maintained nautical hegemony over the sea for centuries. @@sannaristovska6037 LOL As Miko says, it's about cultural things. Indeed they are very attractive There's a reason they get so many tourists and often retirees fromthe North. But I have to say when (s)he wrote about having it all, the same thought struck me. If those countries could do something about their truly abysmal political and less than optimum economic circumstances I have to say, they would probably be among the most attractive places to live in the world. Unfortunately, I would advise not holding our breaths ...

It’s crazy how close Greek dance and music is to middle eastern debka like Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan! But some of the music also sounds close to Egyptian style music. It’s beautiful how we can celebrate our similarities rather than our differences ❤️

Men , this is beautiful 😍. For North African (South Mediterranean in this case) the steps are correct and your Belly dancing is beautiful. Keep it up and thank u for your effort to gather the beautiful Mediterranean countries that are unfortunately ravaged by conflicts, wars and tensions. North macedonia(vardaska banovina)is North of Macedonia therefore its MACEDONIAN NOTHING.
Your Algerian, Tunisian and Egyptian dances were really good. The Tunisian "War dance" looks more like a "come hither" dance :)

Agree. I an a fan of him and I believe that he is dancing way better the balkan or middle eastern dances than the dances which are strangers to his culture. He should make more Videos with this type of dances

@@Hobbymusiker84 middle eastern dances are pretty nothing like those from balkans, but also, speaking of balkans, other than a geographical distribution, what more is it really, especially in terms of dances? For example, Greece is in balkans, but especially the second dance in this medley would look a lot closer to an italian dance than to a Bulgarian one, let alone a middle eastern (the resemblance in the latter is literraly zero) Overall, the part that i dont get in your comment is how "middle eastern dances are familiar with his culture"

@@Chris-xb7gm Middle East, Turkey and the Balkans 😊and to add to your previous comment, the Balkans are to some extent influenced by Middle Eastern culture (dances, food, etc.), even in such a small area dances vary from region to region, even within one country, but in some regions the influence from the Middle Eastern culture is more than in others, therefore certain dances in the Balkans are very close to Middle Eastern ones.
So accurate, eaven writen on the title the country name as called by each of the locals! Thanks Vasilis for your amazing work!

io resto dell'idea che ormai il concetto di cultura mediterranea non esiste più da secoli. Il sud Europa si è fortemente legato al centro-nord europa mentre il Nord Africa e il Levanto si sono arabizzati e africanizzati
