Unfortunately, discrimination continues at different levels, race, body types, and clothing, status, etc. Discrimination is NEVER good. Well done, Amelia, for standing up. ⚘️

When I was in the NAVY in Bainbridge, MD. I saw a similar incident. After filling out lists of paper work and turning it in, one of my classmates was called into the office for not filling out the paper work properly. They informed his he was not to use his initials and he informed them that RJ was his full name and not his initials. His full name was RJ White. The instructor said that it was kind of a funny name for him, to which he replied well there was a man in the the barracks named Chocolate and he WASN'T EVEN CHOCOLATE.

I feel the support for this story is great. I also hope that all of you realize that the same type of discrimination is very common these days against Jewish and Israeli people. Please see the equivalence of these and speak up against all cases of discrimination.

Your comment reminded me of a Karen who ordered a sandwich that was wrapped in blue and white paper. She wrongly accused the restaurant of showing support for Israelis. This was not true. But, even if it was, what is so wrong for standing up for people in any country? Racism and discrimination will be with us as long as there is diversity. You, Amelia, should feel a sense of satisfaction standing up against racism. If I were on that plane, and you ended up seated next to me, a Caucasian, I would welcome you as an equal and hope for some interesting conversation. I know you know only a small group of people are racist. Helping to show others how to deal with it with humanely will change some of them. I was fortunate to be able to fly to Ireland and had a wonderful time, so I am glad your trip to Paris was a memorable experience.

The airline I worked for would not have stood for the guys behavior. At one time a whole rew were positioning to a transit port to pick up a plane that has been delayed badly, and crew didn't have enough hours left to operate the last leg & we were going to replace them & operate on arrival. One of the crew was from Sri Lanka and very dark skinned and a 1st class pax refused to sit next to him him stating he wasn't going to "sit next to a f---ing n-----r". The customer service manager immediately asked him to come back into the terminal to sort seating out, but knew first & business class were fully booked. When they arrived at boarding desk, the CSM told staff he refused to carry the pax, and why, and a security officer escorted him back through customs and he didn't fly on our flight. Break rules or bad language, and you were denied boarding or offloaded, the ay it should be.

Some may think this is fake but as a BW who travels first class, you do get some crazy looks, as if to say “Why are you here?” I have never had anyone say anything to me but I have been on the receiving end of some crazy looks! it’s funny to me! Here’s another thing that pisses them off…the airline hosts always go out of their way to make sure I’m even more comfortable and taken care of, above and beyond my fellow passengers! The reason why they do this you may ask? It’s because I shake their hand, politely greet them, and hand them a gift card to an airport coffee shop or to a kiosk massage booth. They appreciate it because I thought about their comfort! 🥰😁

Knowing me, i wouldn't have said one word to him, much less shown him my boarding pass. Unless he put his hands on me, then, i would've had something embarrassingly sarcastic, to say. Hopefully, he would think twice, before behaving like that again.

It was a very nice story But the fact is much more harsh as far as I know There are so many cases the third parties, such as airway employees, police persons and airport security guards, stand by the one who discriminated Cuz they who discriminated usually tone down and tell lies saying like "He/she's paranoid, I never mean discrimination. I just wondered" at the sight of those third parties Other passengers seldom step in nor witness in favour of the party who got discriminated And even say like "As a conclusion everything solved, no further issues Why should u rake over old ash Shouldn't post social media It's also regarded as ur insult against him/her"

Kudos to you. I was recently on a mission trip to Uganda and my husband went to a bank in Uganda to exchange USA currency. He was given less for the exchange but the following day a Caucasian went to exchange USA currency and given a higher rate. Another incident happened at hotel we stayed at. The caucasians came in after our group and got their order before we did. Sad that this behavior continues to occur when we are in Uganda. My husband spoke to manager of the establishment but behavior continues to happen.
