Facing racism from a cashier in a Walmart, I told her she should be very careful who she insults; I told her for all she knew, I could have been from her corporate office. That changed her attitude quickly, and she acted accordingly. I did take her name and reported her despicable behavior.

@@josephearl2919 - I am white. I sat in the back of the bus for several reasons: 1) I wasn’t cool, I like a smoother ride, 2) I feel safer in the back of the bus. Most devastating bus accidents are in the front of the bus. 3) The brakes are in the back of the bus! I never thought I was infringing on the rights of others. I would see Blacks in the back of the bus and watch how their bodies reacted to the pot holes and problems in the streets. Again, I always felt safer in the back of the bus. I am now 72 years old. When I take the bus now, I rush to the first seat I can find as most bus drivers are not so patient with the elderly. I, guess, I am saying that I am sorry that I did not see it as a punishment. I thought the people in the back knew something I didn’t. And, they did!!!

Grandma use to tell me that we entertain Angels unaware. She was a Godly woman. As a child she would pick me up every Sunday morning and evening and Bible study on Wednesday. My grandpa has been a Deacon in their church for 30 years. They were also bowled in their church bowling league. We lost Grandpa one night during a league tournament. He has a massive heart attack. Grandma was lost emotionally for a long time. Grandma never learned to drive as she was terrified to drive. My uncle took her everywhere she needed to go. Grandma worked the cake sales, the church bazaar and anything that needed help with. The one thing I totally admire about her was she would grow three one acre gardens every year.. one was used for fresh from the garden, another, she canned, and the 3rd garden was for several church pantries that feed the needy. One day I asked her why she grew such a big garden for the food banks, she Said we entertain Angels unaware. I sure miss then both but was very close to Grandma.

Had A similar problem on Greyhound. Driver stated no more seats You can wait for next bus or sit on floor. There was a seat first seat occupied by a very large woman taking up 1 1/2 seats - I tried to sit all 95 lbs of me and she tried to stop me- all I said "did you PAY FOR 2 SEATS" REPLY NO" I SAT IT WAS TIGHT AT FIRST IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE BUT BY THE NEXT STOP - WE WERE JOKING and enjoying our time.

We have the same unsufferable racist Karens here in France. I'm disabled and have a priority card (if I walk with my stick, you can see my limping; now I must use a wheelchair). Some years ago, I went to a cash desk in a super market, one of those reserved for disabled people and pregnant women. The thing is everyone can use it, but if someone needs to pass in front of you because of his or her physical condition, you let him/her pass. I was suffering a lot that day and asked politely if I could pass in front of other people. My late mother was with me. Everybody let me pass of course, except that one Karen. She retorted: "It's always the same people who are given all the rights!" I think I don't need to explain who are "the same people". Ah! My mother was Brazilian. She had a beautiful tanned skin, which I inherited (but lighter, my father was French). I'm very sad and concerned because France, my country, said the country of the Lights, of the Human Rights, is forgetting its past, is mocking its History and is tempted to return into the darkness and the fascist temptation (end of June 2024, general elections).
