From what I heard about the so-called cure for autism and multiple other things, MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution) which is two chemicals mixed together to form bleach to be ingested for "treatment" of these conditions, none of this surprises me. Some of the so-called "parasites" found in the guts of the poor autistic kids subject to this "treatment" by parents wishing for a cure look like the sort of thing you'd expect from these processes. And - and this should be needless to say - those "parasites" are not actually parasites.

I am rather impressed he downed the entire bottle. As a young child I drank a very small amount of rubbing alcohol because I thought it was an adult drink. I screamed.

I’m in nursing school and during our pharmacology class we went over “all naturals” and our instructor had an awesome saying. She said “Lightning is all natural too buts it’s not very good for you”. It’s a saying I will subtly imply in my practice for patients who insist on only using “all natural” remedies

I’ve heard that trauma nurses and surgeons (but especially nurses who have to do the actual caring for these people after and before the treatments) can become super sarcastic and hardened. Go through enough cases like this or enough drunk driving injuries and yeah you’d probably start to hate people…

I just really appreciate how you take the time to debunk all the bullshit that's apparently being spread though social media, and I like the fact that you never call these people idiots but instead try to educate, explain and thus keep others from making the same mistake. People are doing stupid things all the time, and desperate times seem to call for the most desperate measures, so I'm not surprised that some people were putting their lives at risk in an attempt to avoid being infected with COVID.

It's incredible how he explains this in an educational way, even though most people know and agree that rubbing alcohol is not edible and doesn't disinfect the inside of your body. Most people don't know the specifics of what happens chemically or even how symptoms of ingesting rubbing alcohol can manifest physically.

One time i took a sip of fruit juice before I realized it was moldy and after spitting out snd rinsing with mouthwash i downed 5 shots of everclear brand grain alcohol to kill anything in the esophagus. Did not present to the ER lol

I knew methanol caused blindness but now knowing the exact metabolic path that leads to this is very enlightening.

Remember that Ethanol uses the same pathway and blocks the metabilization of methanol that causes poison. So the best way to stay alive when you drink the cheap tainted booze is more booze, but properly distilled one.

when you are a doctor, chances are you will meet at least 1 stupid patient, with the number increasing depending on what specialty you are in (EM docs probably have a lot of stories) fortunately, you would be well trained so you probably won’t laugh in the patient’s face. probably would crack a laugh or two with your colleagues though

I went to nursing school for a couple years (taking only 2-3 classes at a time) and not being able to graduate (probably have to take my classes all over again) because both my parents got sick 1 with cancer, 1 with cirrhosis, at the same time so I had to take care of them and I don’t have time or energy to study anymore but when I relax I love to watch medical videos and research it a lot. I love your videos and they give me hope that this information will stick with me so that when God gives me the opportunity to go back to school I can still pass with straight A’s like I did before. Thanks for your videos! I’m 27 years old and so scared I won’t graduate by the time I’m 30. Please send me prayers so that I can go back to school and one day save lives myself! I want to be a surgical nurse working in the OR.

Thing is, a lot of people may not have much knowledge and experience with these sorts of things. Neither bleach nor concentrated alcohol seems to have a visible detrimental effect to the surfaces on which they are normally used. If people only know that much about bleach and alcohol, and then they hear that it's also a good disinfectant against a new virus, it's not out of the realm of possibility that they might drink it. Because they would not know how their body breaks ingested items down, or how the substances would react with their cells. Some might be repelled by the strong taste and smell, but others would just take it as a sign that the substance is strong and effective. I don't think it's worth it to be exasperated by ignorance. Everyone is ignorant about some things. I usually save the exasperation for stupidity, when people have been previously warned or shown that what they are doing is a bad idea, yet continue anyway.

@erik masterchef none of the news outlets said that, the news outlets say trump suggested the injection of disinfectants to treat coronavirus. As a person who saw the video, that is EXACTLY what he fucking said, complimenting it with a remark about "cleaning the lungs". Later he said he was being sarcastic, which is a terrible defense because it makes him look bad both ways. A very right leaning reporter later on asked him to confirm that he was being sarcastic, and then he went on a rant once again about the probability of injecting disinfectants and blasting people with ultraviolet light to cure it, because he LITERALLY SAID that he thinks that hard surface disinfectants should work inside the body because they work on our hands (harsh medical grade surface disinfectants are corrosive by the way, and shouldn't be used on skin). The media is serving to tell people not to listen to anything he says. He is acting like the head of a medical team, ordering trained professionals around with ill informed opinions about what he believes would work without having any medical knowledge. And notice how none of the right wing media came to his aide either, fox bashed trump, taking direct quotes from his team basically blaming the people for not "getting the joke", when he should not be making any jokes in a time like this, he made himself look so stupid that not even fox could defend him.

@@misterdinner3648 He was asking doctors about what it would look like to disinfect the lungs in patients who will otherwise die. Doctors already inject chemicals into people who have a certain terminal illness. It's called chemotherapy, and it really messes the body up, but can be very successful in fighting cancer, which obviously kills people. A lot of people accept the risk of chemo and allow the treatment to happen. The president was essentially asking if there's any way doctors could do something like that to disinfect patients lungs who will otherwise die, but only at the will of the patient of course. These experiments done by professionals on those who consent, is how modern medicine advances, how it always has advanced, and are usually only offered to those who know they will die otherwise without any other effective way to stop it. He wasn't very clear about it because he sucks at talking and always knows how to make himself look like an idiot, but if you watch the whole press conference and see the entire context of him asking that question to the doctor its pretty easy to see he is just questioning them on what they're currently trying and what else might work. He never advised the public to do it, nor did he ever suggest store-bought household disinfectants. But I will say he looked like an idiot, again.

Nothing drives the need for proper education home like this channel. Respect to all the doctors who’ve dedicated their lives to saving us from our stupidity.

(luckily I was already walking away from the shop assistant so he didn't see a total weirdo shovel a cube of soap into their mouth. My cousin was walking next to me though, and he found it hilarious) I spat most of it out in a bin, but I felt ill the rest of the day. Jeezzus I can't believe I was such a toddler, putting any ld random thing in my mouth thinking it was food. Lesson learnt

How does someone give you bleach in a glass and you not smell it unless you have some medical condition where you can't smell but she never had that so I don't understand how she took the drink and knocked it back without being put off by the smell. Even without the smell your eyes would water and burn.

I had a patient come in the ER that drank rubbing alcohol. They did not live. Unfortunately, they were an alcoholic and they were in recovery(according to family) and they had a relapse but only could find rubbing alcohol. Went into renal failure and passed. It was a very hard case for me personally. I really sympathized with that family. I mean I always do, but it just hit me really hard and I cried a lot that night.
