A look at the STUNNING White Castle - Welsh Castle Ruins

A look at the stunning ruins of White Castle in Monmouthshire, Wales. Situated near the village of Llantilio Crossenny, along with Skenfrith and Grosmont, the castle is one of the ‘Three Castles’.
Built just after the Norman invasion of England, White Castle was originally constructed of earth and timber. Rebuilt by Hubert de Burgh in stone, an outer ward was eventually added by Henry III, to defend against a potential attack by Llywelyn ap Gruffud.
An attack never came, and the castle was eventually left to decay.
These days, a 19 mile circular walk connecting the castle to both Skenfrith and Grosmont is popular with walkers.
