Honestly, neither of these decks matches my aesthetic preference. But I will say, I am very much a guidebook person. The guidebook can make all the difference for me in my readings. And because of that, I am actually tempted to purchase the rosebud tarot. The poems sound amazing. And even the little blurb next to the minor cards are well written. I will have to think about that more. But I did really enjoy this video. I always love your commentary and your insights. Thank you for sharing!

Great Idea to compare those two decks, thank you!! I was planning on getting the rosebud, cause I really dig collage style decks... But something is off in many cards for me... 💁🙈

Excellent comparison! The relative tarot might be a nice alternative to Carte Postale (which I ordered and never got)

I think the 2/Fire in Rosebud is Bessie Coleman, first black female aviator... #blackhistoryisnevertaughtinschool

Thank you for this fun and insightful comparison! You sent me to this video from your equally wonderful Rosebud Tarot Review video. I'm wondering too about the use of roses in the imagery of this deck...what do you think about "Rosebud" maybe being a reference to the Rosebud of Citizen Kane? As in, feeling a nostalgia for a simpler time...or possibly having a rosebud moment (like a loss of innocence)? Just thinking out loud. Thanks again! 💛🌹

Thanks for the comparison, the rosebud deck is clearly having its moment, but definitely not for me. I shall stick with the relative tarot. I'm glad Carrie didn't produce a regurgitated RWS guidebook, I feel like you can get those meanings from any other deck with a LWB. I enjoyed doing something different and using the book for a change.

Another good one Cody. The Relative Tarot, for a few of the cards it clearly looks like modern photos were used and tried to make it look old which throws the whole aesthetic off. And for crying out loud will creators and publishers STOP putting decks in these big boxes, shrink the effing guidebook and put the whole shebang in a sturdy, easily portable smaller box. The Rosebud, a few of the cards were winners and love the poetry in the guidebook, but the majority of the cards were WTF??? And yes, WHERE ARE ALL THE ROSES? More roses please, come on - it's in the title of the deck.

I enjoy these comparisons. I'm glad you didn't have to pay for these as both of them are a no, lol! I prefer Relative as far as ease of reading. I don't really like decks with renamed cards. At first, I liked Rosebud a bit better, but going into the minors, I felt like the creators wanted to make a collage deck with old photos and didn't know what to call it. "Oh, I know, let's throw some roses on the cards and call it Rosebud!" 😂 I can't stand the packaging on Relative. I wouldn't purchase it just for that. Those giant guidebooks do nothing for me, either. Thank you for this video. There are so many decks out there, they all start looking the same so these are helpful. ❤🃏
