    He also played the Covid Gambit, but lost. Edit : Reading your comment, you would mean last year technically because he got disqualified from the SCC in 2021 before 2022.

    Prep back in the day: "if our opponent plays this move, we can trade here and win a pawn, otherwise we'll have to play this move" Prep now: "the computer says to sack the queen for optimal piece activity"

    Could you do a video like how to play against certain openings? Like more beginner tutorial, say in this opening with both kings castles short we would usually go for this, in that opening for that… you know what I mean? Just what are the strengths and weaknesses of some common openings and would the game strategies be. I would enjoy anything from 5 minutes to one hour, I’m just curious how u see these. Hm?

    at that level openings don't matter you just need to not hang too many pieces and take the pieces that the opponent is hanging

    i play better and see more moves after watching the speedruns and the matrix bullet vids... but these lessons never really do it for me... im mostly focused on how he can remember specific moves in specific game all the way back to the 90s... that always throws me off

    Hello GM Hikaru. I am a big supporter and I am so excited you are going to be fighting it out in the Candidates Tournament. My constructive criticism is that you go through the lines way too fast and skip over some of the transitions. This makes your absolutely amazing teaching difficult to study.

    it goes into a even line where white loses a pawn for a queen trade, so its not really a hanging pawn. since after Qb7, kb6,

    No, Kings Indian is a reputable opening. Openings are only meant to create playable positions, and from the end of the opening is the middle game where anything can happen, such as blunders and mistakes which could lose the game or go into an endgame where the same could happen.

    Theory and Computers ruin the experience of Chess. The whole idea of Chess is the struggle between minds, but when memorization of move orders, theory and computers come into play, the art, the inspiration of the struggle is gone, and becomes inhuman.

    @ShoryukenPunch Trust me, I can see why he gave up on Chess, with the pattern recognition, memorization, etc. But the greatest struggle in Chess is seen through taking what one has learnt and pitching your skills and creativity against someone else of equal stature, in terms of Chess. And, no, I am not. I am way younger than him.
