I was 8 months old, that day. Now I am learning that defence!!

Good video as always
Could you do a video like how to play against certain openings? Like more beginner tutorial, say in this opening with both kings castles short we would usually go for this, in that opening for that… you know what I mean? Just what are the strengths and weaknesses of some common openings and would the game strategies be. I would enjoy anything from 5 minutes to one hour, I’m just curious how u see these. Hm?

Hikaru remembers the date time location and round from ‘98. Smh. Impressive

Me: "Did I eat breakfast this morning?!" Grandpa Hikaru: "The year was 1998. It was a beautiful Tuesday evening, as I prepared for the 413th tournament in my career..."
Hi Hikaru, I just started learning chess and bought GingerGM's book on Black Lion. Do you think this is worth learning or should I focus on other things? I'm currently finishing up Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess, 1st section of Silmans Endgame book, and the Tao of Chess

very helpful
Hikaru: let’s look at this line that your 600 elo opponents will never play so this is really all irrelevant
Black bishop at f5 would be a great move ig
1997, wasn't Hikaru like 10 years old back then?😂
Me: How do you play the KID? Levy: So let's say you're using the London system...
If Chucky was talking he would come up with at least dozen of games and positions from the top of his head instantly. Naka is very vague and brief compared to what you get from Chucky.
I want to go back to the 90's lol. Good video :)
Hikarus memory is indescribable
This one time at band camp
hikaru can i request on how you face against the Italian game as black. cause i always lose when i am black and face against the Italian opening.
can you do a speedrun king's Indian
breakdown of Boris v hikaru
i play better and see more moves after watching the speedruns and the matrix bullet vids... but these lessons never really do it for me... im mostly focused on how he can remember specific moves in specific game all the way back to the 90s... that always throws me off
Hey Hikaru .. hope you're feeling better
Hunk Punk
You are fast nakamuru !!
The kings indian of 1998
Damn nice. + Hikaru talks so fast lol
Too fast 😂😂
"back in the old days" when my sneakers were new
The main thing I’ve learned here is that chess has given Hikaru a lot of opportunities to travel.
35-40 more watches and I’ll have this down.
Next Caro Kann please!!
Hello GM Hikaru. I am a big supporter and I am so excited you are going to be fighting it out in the Candidates Tournament. My constructive criticism is that you go through the lines way too fast and skip over some of the transitions. This makes your absolutely amazing teaching difficult to study.
Si a Good teacher
I like these videos
watching at half speed, to keep up
im 14 elo, the Sicilian gambet defense mechanism is a better opening than kindian king defense

it goes into a even line where white loses a pawn for a queen trade, so its not really a hanging pawn. since after Qb7, kb6,

Love frm india 🇮🇳
And he lost a lot of games, does that mean its a bad opening ?
@ethanl.1699
2 жыл бұрын
No, Kings Indian is a reputable opening. Openings are only meant to create playable positions, and from the end of the opening is the middle game where anything can happen, such as blunders and mistakes which could lose the game or go into an endgame where the same could happen.
Wait, so there is such a thing as a non-fianchetto King's Indian?
@Zeldasouls
2 жыл бұрын
He’s referring to the fianchetto variation that white chose to go into with g3.

Theory and Computers ruin the experience of Chess. The whole idea of Chess is the struggle between minds, but when memorization of move orders, theory and computers come into play, the art, the inspiration of the struggle is gone, and becomes inhuman.
@Raziel2404
2 жыл бұрын
@ShoryukenPunch Trust me, I can see why he gave up on Chess, with the pattern recognition, memorization, etc. But the greatest struggle in Chess is seen through taking what one has learnt and pitching your skills and creativity against someone else of equal stature, in terms of Chess. And, no, I am not. I am way younger than him.
