The Alpine Wall (Vallo Alpino) was an Italian system of fortifications along the 1,851 km (1,150 mi) of Italy's northern frontier. Built in the years leading up to World War II at the direction of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, the defensive line faced France, Switzerland, Austria, and Yugoslavia. It was defended by the "Guardia alla Frontiera" (GaF), Italian special troops.

Omg you are in my favorite country now, the tunnels could be the partizane hospital, ive heard of it while i was in slovenia years ago, cant remember exactly but something about nuns having a secret hospital in the mountains, where you where brought blindfolded, so no one knew where it was. enjoy Slovenia!!

They visited "Caposaldi Raggi - Brunner", a fort built as part of the Valle Alpino by the Italians between 1. and 2. World War to defend the passage from Primorska to the Ljubljana basin.

Unška koliševka is one of the impact valleys that were created by the impact of the ceiling of the underground cave. Such valleys are characterized by steep walls, and the bottom is difficult to access. In contrast to the koliševka that can be found, for example, in Rakovo Škocjan, the Unš koliševka hides another interesting feature. It is surrounded by military trenches and bunkers built by Italian soldiers during the World Wars. A smaller part of these tunnels with a total length of around 1.5 km is still accessible.

Correction to my last Comment, sorry guys put info in for wrong country During World War II, Slovenia, which was part of Yugoslavia at the time, saw the construction and use of tunnels and underground structures for several purposes: 1. **Partisan Hideouts:** The Yugoslav Partisans, led by Josip Broz Tito, used hidden tunnels and caves as bases and hideouts to evade Axis forces. These tunnels provided shelter and safety for resistance fighters. 2. **Escape Routes:** Tunnels were also used as escape routes for Partisans and civilians seeking to avoid capture by the Axis forces. These underground passages allowed them to move discreetly. 3. **Ammunition Storage:** Some tunnels served as storage facilities for weapons and ammunition, ensuring a secure supply for the Partisans. 4. **Communication Networks:** Underground tunnels and bunkers were used for communication purposes, including radio transmissions, to coordinate resistance activities. 5. **Factory and Industry:** In addition to military uses, Slovenia had underground tunnels and facilities used for industrial purposes, such as mining and manufacturing. Many of these tunnels and underground structures have historical significance and can still be visited today as museums or historical sites. If you have a specific tunnel or aspect of Slovenian history during World War II I don’t take credit for this, copied from Chatgtp

@@mortenster403im pretty sure its part of Alpine Wall and not Rupnik's line. That part of Slovenia was occupied by Italy after ww1. Yugoslav bunkers also werent that big and you can clearly see Italian writing on the walls.

😂😂😂 “Jammy git” my new favorite slang the Brits use which sounds unspeakable but is actually only playful. Like the British meanings of the words that rhyme with “maggot” and “bunt”. In the states it’s the opposite, sounds pleasant but means something horrible, what’s wrong with being a happy, cat, snowflake? 😢 We even screwed up 2200 years of the Latin for the color black. 🤦‍♂️ I blame the Puritans! Don’t give any of those idiots any of your nice biscuits!
