A History of Communism: End Without End (1954-1993)

Ойын-сауық

The death of Stalin reveals the turpitudes of the regime hitherto hidden. In 1956, the Khrushchev report is overwhelming on the practice of power of his predecessor. The Hungarian uprisings in 1956 and the Prague Spring in 1968 demonstrate the will of peoples to free themselves from enslavement. In the 1970s, revolutionary messianism suffered a serious setback with the failure of Third World revolutions, the boat-people phenomenon and the Cambodian genocide. Henceforth, the communist parties had to fight to make an alternative credible, but the working class was to deal the fatal blow to the ideology of Marxist progress with the events in Gdansk in the summer of 1980. The fall of the Wall of Berlin ratifies only one state of fact, the end of the dreams of power of the Soviet Union, until its decay and its bursting.

I agree the West misunderstands the mainly nationalist motivations of normal Vietnamese in joining the Viet Minh to fight colonialism, but when the organisation promotes communism and silences other voices, like the Sangha or Bao Dai from even having a voice it becomes a concern for many people, not just Westerners, but democrats of all nations, who see the leadership of the Viet Minh as using the ordinary people's legitimate love of nation and desire to fight against colonialism as a means to spread an undemocratic ideology. Regardless, long live independent Vietnam.

If the Vietnamese would be honest looking back at their recent history, they should admit, that the whole fight was for nothing. The Americans were not there to enslave them or to exploit them. They just wanted to stop the spread of communism. And communism they don't even want anymore in Vietnam. So they fought for something, which they themselves abbandoned afterwards within a generation. Four million deaths for nothing. They could be like South Korea now, if history went otherwise.

Call it whatever you want, money, work points, ownership, private property, public property. There has to be some kind if system whereby you know that what was yours when you left will be yours when you return. Why would anyone work at all not to truly have anything they can call their own? "Bella ciao!" ("Farewell, beauty!") is an Italian folk song, one of the most famous anti-fascist partisan songs in Italy. The song was sung in partisan detachments operating in several regions of Italy in 1943-1945. The song became widely known in the world after it was brought by the Italian delegation to the 1st International Festival of Youth and Students in Prague in 1947. "Vella ciao!" long ago became the international song of the struggle for freedom, against oppression. It is sung in different countries, in different languages. "Bella ciao!"

And quite rightly they were deported. In western Ukraine, after its liberation from German occupation, thousands of Bandera gangs operated. They committed such atrocities against everyone who was suspected of being loyal to the Soviet regime that their hair stood on end: they tortured and killed in the most brutal ways not only the military and government officials, but also teachers, doctors, and ordinary peasants. Entire families were slaughtered with children. And it was impossible to stop this bloody bacchanalia for several years - almost until the mid-50s. The war was over, but peaceful life did not come. Because Bandera was covered by the local population. The only way to fight the partisan movement is to deprive it of the support of the local population. As long as the population helps the partisans, nothing can be done with them. Therefore, the fascists, fighting the Soviet partisans, carried out acts of retaliation and intimidation of the civilian population - they burned people alive by entire villages, shot the hostages. And during the Vietnam War, the United States burned Vietnamese villages with napalm, where partisans took refuge. But the Soviet government acted humanely. No one was burned alive, no hostages were shot. They simply sent them to other regions of the country - to Siberia, as well as to Kazakhstan and Central Asia. And there people, if they were not involved, except for aiding bandits, in any real crimes, then they could engage in agricultural activities in the same way as at home, in Ukraine. And you should not try to surpass Solzhenitsyn with his mythical millions of those who were shot. Not 2.5 million Ukrainians were deported, but about 200,000. And not from all of Ukraine, but mainly from the western regions.

Trotsky is not real socialism! You are far from dialectical materialism as the methodology of Marxism! Trotsky is a petty-bourgeois socialist, actually a Menshevik. Voicing his theory of Permanent Revolution, Trotsky proceeded from the idealism of consciousness, and not from the real relations that existed in reality. Trotsky hoped for a revolution in the main European countries, England and Germany, but he did not even take into account the fundamental provisions of the unequal development of capitalism and the division of capitalism into colonial and metropolitan, i.e. the disparity of development, and consequently the disparity of social consciousness. The European worker, being relatively prosperous by the standards of other workers of the world due to the fact that he is in the conditions of the metropolis and the capitalist shares with him most of the surplus value, makes the revolution less possible due to less support from the population.

Poor for the Imperialism trying to negate all achievements of Socialist nations - who blocked American and the Western Colonialist expanding. In fact, Americans was defeated by us - Vietnam, and they did all things to prevent us being friends with many countries in the world after war, they did all things to determine that we were the danger of the world, and communism need to be deleted. Many people had died under the hands of Cololialism and Imperialism, included my grandfather and my uncles. They brought war to us, to everywhere they suppose that there is no democracy and human rights, so ? Poverty, inconsistency, etc are continuing where they came, come and are going to come. We trying to make world become better, want to be friends with all people. We overcame many years of war, know the true worth of freedom and peace, so recognizing the truth is very important, not the documetary like this. See type of "democracy and freedom" American brought to Iraq, Lybia, Syria ???

Exactly. Not much common sense or concern over why even entire countries would be driven to seek other methods and for the countries that say that kind of change could never happen to them and their system is better they can hide and watch because that kind of change is a slow and sometimes unnoticed process that takes hundreds of years. Socialism with possibly a Democratic base seems to be the best option for everyone and includes free health care and free education and low cost of living for everyone because all of the people decide in the legislation of the money gained from the distribution of manufactured goods and valuable resources. Russia was Socialist Republic USSR for 100 years and longer than anyone else such as Switzerland. But Russia became Republican Capitalist with a Democratic base in 1991 as are the reports and Ukraine that also was Socialist became Communist in 1991 as are the reports. It is clear that greed in an old and outdated Ruling Monarchy Feudal Capitalist system will prevail while those in top positions and or with elite connections profit substantially while the middle class and poor fall further behind with no free health care or free education in sight until the dying off of all of the middle class and poor that are generally not of criminal element or addicts as certain corrupt media portrays them to be. Oddly the media has never shown the many middle class and poor that attend church and know Jesus along with many homeless who not only can recite verses and entire books of the Bible but truly know and love Jesus. They die every day at the hands of corrupt imposters and embezzlement of humanitarian funds.
