A.H. Almaas - How Does Suffering and Heartache Awaken the Deepest "Capacities of the Heart”

In this offering, Tami Simon and A.H.Almaas delve into a higher perspective of resilience-the spiritual dimension of ourselves that supports us amid the challenges of our physical reality.

Here, Tami joins her friend and luminary teacher A.H. Almaas, the pen name of A. Hameed Ali, founder of the Diamond Approach to Self-Realization.
Almaas's work brings together perennial spiritual teachings and modern depth psychology, toward the goal of realizing our true nature and finding greater fulfillment in our lives.
Here, we'll explore:
• The animal, human, and angelic facets of self and soul
• Moving beyond our biological survival instincts and responding from our spiritual true nature
• Why we need heartaches, fears, and inner blockages to awaken our spiritual drive
• How ""the capacities of the heart"" give us strength, steadfastness, love, and compassion to weather life's storms
• The spiritual journey as a love affair-with all of its joys, struggles, wounding, and growth
• Nurturing the angelic soul-the infinite part of ourselves that transcends fear, frustration, hatred, and more
Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 80 employees, a library of more than 1500 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

"Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing, there lies a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase 'each other' doesn't make any sense. " ~ Rumi

My heart hears, “I love you”: No use asking: “am I saying that to the Beloved”, Or “ is the Beloved saying that to me?” Same thing

Wonderful, thank you so much. I'm so happy to see these teachings gaining exposure. I'm surprised that the Enneagram doesn't feature more prominently. I imagine because it can paradoxically become a distraction from actual inquiry?

Self Inquiry is simple but difficult

Would you elaborate? I’m going through it right now. Just started to cry out of nowhere. I realized I can not wish to be somewhere else, or that my mind does wish to be somewhere else. In a shapeshifting way. It’s a seeking. Hard to wrestle, but I might have understiod it’s nature now.

@@Fnelrbnef To be, you don't have to do anything. You just stop all your attempts, surrender every attempt, and you will recognize your true being. It is that simple. Do this non-doing over and over again. Repeat the simplicity of it all until it becomes a constant presence. That work and that constant presence will uproot your egoic self, which is never fully present here and now. The egoic nature is constantly trying to get or avoid something in its attempt to control the world. The ego does not give up lightly, for most people. It is a sort of death struggle. That is why it is difficult. How is it going for you now?

1- For me resilience is process not a state. 2- I feel my heart being more and more soft as if the rocks in it have melted. So I feel more and more my heart tickllng , lightweighted and enlightened. Is this spiritual heart?

It's sad that he thinks what he teaches about awakening worked on the arrogant, narcissistic teachers he trains in the Diamond approach
