For those who have the previous model. There is a tool for Windows called "Better ClearType Tuner". This fixes the BGR in Windows, In many Linux distributions you can either select subpixel layout in the display settings, or usually it's built into the monitor profile.

How does this handle multiple monitors? I have the old OG M27Q and a Dell with RGB layout as my secondary display
@SianaGearz
2 жыл бұрын
@@UltimateWobbleBoss if you have a mixed setup of RGB and BGR monitors, you will never have text look properly on all of them. Most software is just incapable of redrawing text the moment it leaves one monitor and lands on another, when you move a window, and doesn't evaluate the DirectWrite ClearType settings as well. The background for this conclusion is that I was specifically looking to buy the Gigabyte monitor, but also keep my current display as secondary, and I just tested all the software that I have and use whether it can even handle it, with fake settings and screenshots and using both standard and this alternative ClearType tuner and I even dove into Qt source code to check what it does. You can naturally flip your Gigabyte upside down but I don't know if it's great for games. I also didn't buy the Gigabyte due to a spectacular accumulation of customer reports of defects that just shouldn't happen, like missing blotches of pixels, plus because of how they handle warranty and products flaws, which is to say as sloppily as humanly possible.

Picked the M27Q because of your video. I'm not really affected with the BGR layout, though I do get dizzy reading when going back to regular 1080p RGB pixel layout.
Was hoping to see a review for this when looking for monitors the other day and would probably have bought it if there was stock in the UK. I went with an MSI monitor instead, but nice to know I wouldn't have made a mistake buying this one.

Thanks for another great review! A question: are you planning any more reviews of budget 1440p 144+Hz monitors? Looking at US pricing, there's a surprising amount of options out there in the ~$250 range, and given the decent performance of that HP I'm curious as to how the rest of the crop measures up. Given how well these Gigabyte M monitors perform, I'd be interested in seeing the G27Q reviewed.
I love my M27Q. It has a beautiful picture and you can change it to exactly how you like to have your settings.
I've had a m27q original for a while now and I've loved it its been great recently though one pixel died and since I've noticed it I can't stop seeing it

If it is regional things like country or whatever its ok, but if it is slightly different monitor, I would love to be able to read it! Thanks!
Great video! I love these monitor reviews, however in my region (central EU) these monitors usually take a while to even come to the market if ever, and the pricing is sometimes vastly different. From the European consumer standpoint, I'm not seeing the value proposition from the M27Q P (€450). The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD (€400) still is the bracket champion. Better response time /cumulative deviation control, better build quality, better quality control. All that being said, for an extra 50euros over the price of the M27Q P, the M27Q X can be had at €500 (for that 240Hz value). Was hoping to get the M27Q X for €450 two days ago but it was out of stock so went with the mag274qrf-qd instead.
Do you guys have a review of the Samsung LS27AG524PEXXY currently on sale? Cant seem to find a review. Has got some cracked specs honestly.
I have the option to get M27Q Pro or M32Q at the same price. Which would you pick?
Can you find and review a good 4k 60gz screen?
Bought this monitor (m27qp) as a single monitor replacement for my 2k work and 1080p gaming screen, and so i would no longer have to toggle my mouse and keyboard between machines. I was very excited by the reviews, but am completely disappointed by it in the flesh. I am curios to hear if anyone has experienced the same issues, or if I have lost the electronics lottery on this one? Issues: 1. KVM switch doesnt work. After powering up i can use KVM once, but post that i cant return to the original device via KVM OR Input select. After about 20s of thinking time it just reverts back to the same source. If i turn off and on the monitor it will work again, but once only...WTF!! Moving cables from PC to Laptop was less of an inconvenience. 2. Image will just cut out at random and i get the OSD resolution for a few seconds 3. Backlight bleed is shocking, all four corners look to be lit up by MCG flood lights 4. An issue i only discovered this morning, it doesn't automatically power down once ive shut down my PC. Turned off my PC last night, came in this morning to a bright room as the monitor backlights were still on...WTF?? 5. Not a fault but just something to NOTE: the PD via USB C is a joke 5V 2A - if youre looking for a one cable solution for your laptop this isnt it...which is bizzare for a monitor thats got a KVM...OR in my case has a KVM button that doesnt do anything....
Great review! Could you do a review on the Acer Nitro ED271U? A 240Hz offering from Acer at $470.00
I got this monitor for $280 on Newegg and its amazing. Better than my HP x27q thats next to it. Im a happy customer!

That's what made me watch this review
Hi I was wondering if you could provide some settings to make the colours out of the box better?
I was hoping for some competition to the MSI MAG274QRF-QD :( Seems like nobody is able to come even close to its performance.
Right now it's $299 but I'm wondering if I should spend $100 more for an Msi model with G sync or even more than that for a 240hz 1440p monitor... Is G sync worth caring about with a 3080?
Just to be sure… this is the same as the m27q pro in the amazon page?
FOR ALL NEW PEOPLE LOOKING TO BUY A MONITOR go for dell g2724d much cheaper and better version of this monitor

Thanks, I was hesitant about the gigabyte due to many complaints about backlight bleed on amazon reviews and I heard gigabyte is a nightmare for customer support.
Ok, I’ve watched most of this vid. That said, all I want to know is do I want or need the PRO version if I am only going to use this to play Xbox fps games?
.. this new pro version is 390 Canadian dollars right now , the X is 570... is it really that much better or should I just pull the trigger on the P model?
The response times you have listed in this video for the M27Q are much higher than the numbers in your M27Q review video. Am I missing something or did you accidentally put the wrong numbers? I'm planning to get a 1440p monitor for 90% gaming and am stuck as whether to get the newer P model or go with the older one.

I was wondering the same thing. The M27Q review also explicitly stated "what's very impressive about this entry to mid-range monitor is that it does offer a single overdrive mode experience that's suitable for use across the entire refresh range."

@@RetroRaconteur I found a video he did on this where he said he was measuring response times not between black and white, but a dark grey and greyish white. So basically the old response times are too generous and you should be careful about videos before 2021-02-12.
Does the P-version have the exact same design as the M27Q? In particular curious about what the bezel size is on the P version.
